Deathless Night #4

Blood Betrayal

Rate this book
Vampire Christian Moore has spent his entire life, both human and immortal, fighting for the respect of his peers. He has codes that he lives by. Strict moral codes; both in his personal life and his work. And he doesn't break them. Ever. Until a witch's curse forces him to spend his nights searching for females to seduce, or suffer the consequences. In a vain attempt to ease the agony of fighting the needs of his flesh, he finds himself far from home and at the carnal mercy of a woman with eyes like the midday sky and hair the colors of a summer sunset. His craving for her is all-consuming, and watching her dance makes his blood burn like acid in his veins. But he can't not watch her.

When she was fifteen, Ryan Moss lost her mind. Or at least that's what the voices in her head want her to believe. Afraid of being locked up for life, she runs from her home and the ones that she loves. A year later, on the streets of Tijuana, she finds something that makes the voices go away. And to get it, she's ashamed to admit, she'll do just about anything. Scraped off the street by the shady owners of an adult club, Ryan is forced to strip for a man she can't see or hear. But she can sense his raging need for her even through the haze of her high, and her body responds with a hunger all its own. To be with him, she must chance the one thing she fears losing the most: Her sanity.

Her blood calls to him, and although he's determined to resist her, Christian's body betrays him. He must make a choice, and he'd better make the correct one. For unbeknownst to him, both of their lives depend on it.

L.E. Wilson writes Paranormal Romance starring intense alpha males and the women who are fearless enough to tame them—for the most part anyway. ;) In her novels you'll find smoking hot scenes, a touch of suspense, a bit of gore, and multifaceted characters, all working together to combine her lifelong obsession with the paranormal and her love of romance.

Her writing career came about the usual way: on a dare from her loving husband. Little did they know just one casual suggestion would open a box of worms (or words as the case may be) that would forever change their lives.

Lattes and music are a necessary part of her writing process, and sometimes you'll find her typing away at her favorite Starbucks. She walks two miles to get there, to make up for all of those coffees.

Seriously, this series is SO GOOD! The characters are well written, the plot is engaging, and there is great romance! Darker than the previous books but so well done.

I've been a huge fan of this series right from the first book, Blood Hunger. There's always just the right blend of humor, action, scary stuff, and sexy times in this series. This book was no different. Christian and Ryan's story dealt with more difficult subject matter than other books in the series, and while I don't claim to know too much about the world of painful addictions, I will say that there wasn't anything here that didn't feel 100% genuine. The characters, their struggles, their actions and feelings...it all felt real, like I was right there in the story with them. And that, my friends, is the mark of an exceptional author.

And more importantly, this book gave me more of my Nik from Blood Hunger. (That's right, ladies, he's mine. Back off!)

All in all, a great read. Fans of the genre should definitely check it out. And make sure to go back and read the other books in the series. You won't be disappointed!

Full disclosure: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was so weird, discombobulating and confusing. A junkie witch who doesn’t know she is a which that hear voices but I have we yet to see what she can do beside kill for drugs and a vampire that so soft he can black out from getting hit with a bat… like that wasn’t giving life at all.
It does seem like it’s a series that’s interconnected and you have to read all to get the full picture but I think I am done as this full picture seems boring and dull.

4 stars for Book 4 of the Deathless Night series - vampires, witches, demon-possessed vamps, one steaming hot location, foolish and psychotic humans, a seriously bent & grieving not-so-big baddy, curses. [You will want to read the earlier books, in order, for this series.]

I struggled sticking with A Vampire Betrayed. I picked it up, and put it down, for 15 chapters... it's pretty dark stuff. Chapter 16 turned that corner for me, although there were still issues it was easy to finish. The finish seems a bit rushed, but we continue weaving multiple story threads together so we know there will be more.

I think I liked Christian & Ryan? They didn't feel as well developed as other characters in the series, maybe even a bit one-dimensional? And it did seem like several characters are now a bit dizzy with all the catching up that they have to do and all the parts of the story they've missed [in their captivity et al]. I'm not having trouble keeping them all straight but they seem to be. And on that point, I'd like to say that I appreciate the obvious distinction between those who know what's been going on and those do not... yet. There would be chaos, confusions, adjustments.

That said... I'm looking forward to a settled Christian & Ryan... and seeing how Jesse fits into all of this... and when Shea will get a clue... and where is Dante?

I have loved every book in the Deathless Night Series. They are all a little bit darker than a normal paranormal and I like that. This one is no exception. This one is even a little darker than the first three. The main female character, Ryan, is addicted to drugs and the main male character, Christian, needs to have sex. Christian has been locked up for weeks without blood and without sex. The people that have him bring out Ryan to dance for him so that he gets turned on but can't do anything about it. It torture on him.

It was a different experience than the first couple. Like I said it is darker. We are dealing with a woman who hears voices in her head and needs drugs to make them go away. Ryan thinks that she is insane. I won't give anything away but even knowing what happened in the last couple books I was still surprised by this one. I did enjoy this book. I didn't enjoy as much as the first three(the first three made me laugh a lot. Even with all the serious things going on around the characters. I didn't laugh in this book) but it was still a great addition to the series and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one!

Christian is a vampire from Luukas’ coven. And like the rest of the vampires, he suffers from a curse, he has to have sex EVERY night, if not then he’s in agony! And he’s scared he could hurt someone.....
Ryan has heard voices since she was fifteeen, it made her think she was crazy, and so ran away from home.....
she’s turned to drugs to drown them out, but that stuff isn’t cheap, and she needed more and more, and now Ryan is a dancer in a seedy nightclub, earning just enough money to feed her habit.....
So the start of this story sees Christian watching an exotic dancer, usually just a warm up to the main event. But not this time, Christian has been kidnapped and locked in a glass box, he can see the dancer, he can smell the dancer, he just can’t touch her! And It’s torture for the vampire.
He’s been trapped there for what feels like an eternity, he’s slowly going mad with desire, self gratification doesn’t work. If only he could get to that dancer!
This has to be the saddest book in the series so far (and Luukas’ book was sad!)
Two people trapped in horrible circumstances. She’s in an almost catatonic state, the drugs running through her system, they keep her calm and the voices at bay.
And when he finally gets free......
This is one of my favourites in this six book series.
Christian is drawn to his exotic dancer, but he’s not sure if it because he just needs blood, or if it’s the beautiful female before him.
Ryan is such a sad female, being so scared of the voices in her head she’s had to turn to drugs to drown them out. But in a lucid moment she needs to free the person locked behind the glass.
But freeing him just may end her life!!
Circumstances have dealt these two characters a rough have in life, and it was lovely how supportive Christian was with Ryan. I also had to chuckle at the notion that Ryan was just a passing phase.
So can he save Ryan? Does she want to be saved? And can she really hear all those voices?
Oh and I was totally surprised with the twist in the book.
Can I recommend this book? Oh hell yes I can and do.

Great series

I'm really enjoying this series. Christian was captured and is being held in a box with three steel walls and a fourth wall made of unbreakable glass. Since Luuken was taken he's been cursed with needing sex and blood multiple times a night or his body cramps and leaves him in unimaginable pain. His current torture is to watch a pole cancer perform every night without getting to actually touch her. He craves seeing her in spite of what it will cost him. Ryan has heard voices in her head since she turned 15. Afraid of being locked up she runs away and has lived in the streets becoming a drug addict. Drugs are the only thing that quiet the voices. She's captured and forced to perform the dance every night. Things come to a head, she kills the woman holding her prisoner and helps Christian to escape. Their story is filled with drama but tender moments too. Loved it.

A Vampire Betrayed

And the continuing storyline continues! While this story focuses on Christian and Ryan, we still have the over all arcing storyline of why the Vampires were taken and how the Moss Witches play a part in the curse that was placed on the Vampires - more importantly, Kiara’s role in the curse, and the loophole she placed. When the vampires find their fated mates, their torture ends. This is book four with two more to go and I can’t wait to see how this all plays out and ends. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Doesn't disappoint

Book 4 is just as great as the first 3 books in the series! I love getting to know all the characters and how their stories intertwine with each other. L.E. brings each character to life with so many details you feel like you are right there with them. Definitely a must read.

I am loving how the books in this series are interwoven with each other. Though each book focuses on a different couple, there is a fabulous continuation of the storyline woven between the books. You should definitely read these books in order for a richer experience.

NOT a Stand-alone!!

Multiple POV as we continue with the storylines centered around Luukas council of vampires.

The story centeres around all of the vampires but with one new couple in each book.

Ends with multiple cliffhangers.

Good plot. Well written.
Just keeps getting better and better.

This was a good dark story that was fun and interesting. It had twists and turns and had lots of spots that were surprising and interesting. I give this book 5 hearts

This is book 4 in the series and although I didn't quite love it as much as book 3 Aiden and Grace's love story it is still excellent. This one is also darker than the others in that it deals with drug addiction and human trafficking. Also as I've said before please read this series in order it makes a huge difference.
This one is Christian's love story, it takes a lot more work and as you know from the previous books due to Leeha's curse he can't go without sex for very long and never with the same woman. He is also unaware that Keira put a loophole allowing those affected by the curse to break it if they find their witch mate.
Christian wakes up in Mexico in a cell he can't escape with a beautiful girl pole dancing in front of him once a day everyday for weeks. He hasn't fed and because of his curse he is in agony yet he can't not watch her something about her.
Ryan doesn't know who she dances for behind the one way mirror only that she can feel his intense pain and sorrow. She also doesn't particularly care as long as the owners keep the opiates flowing it's the only thing that keeps the voices away. Ryan has been an addict for quite a while ever since she discovered that the drugs keep the voices away, the voices only she can hear. When things go south and she needs to escape the trafficking ring she's been at she can't help but want to save the man she's been dancing for.
That's when everything changes Christian doesn't know who she is but suddenly an impossible cell to escape is open and he's dying of thirst. The adventure has just begun for these two, as he helps Ryan fight her addiction and teach her where she really comes from. They balance each other and even though it's rough going and they have evil vamps everywhere they turn trying to ruin things they are stronger than that. I came to love these two troubled warriors.
One of my favorite aspects is getting to revisit everyone. I love the meshing of the group and the dynamics, of the dangerous rough vamps with these fun, spunky witches.

Having not read the previous books in the series I did struggle at the beginning with the mix of characters and there previous stories, but as the story continues the story becomes easier to read.

Witches, vampires, lots of action and also the storyline of drug addiction are added to the storyline to give you a book you need to keep reading.

Readers who follow our reviews will recognize the name LE Wilson. That’s because I pretty much read and review everything she writes. She’s an automatic one-click for me. I’ve gotten to know the characters in this series pretty well, starting with Nik and Emma in Blood Hunger, and honestly? Unlike many series that lost their mojo after the first few books (*cough*Sookie Stackhouse*cough*), this one keeps getting better and better.

While I didn’t love Christian quite as much as I loved Nik in Blood Hunger or Brock in To Covet the Fae, he was still everything I’ve come to expect from one of Wilson’s heroes. He’s smart, strong, sexy, and ready to do anything to protect and keep the woman he loves.

Ryan was an especially interesting heroine. She wasn’t the perfect, virtuous little snowflake you find in so many romance novels. She was, of course, a good person at heart, but she was an addict who’d done some pretty unsavory things while feeding her addiction. Watching her character growth throughout the story was very satisfying, and her struggles with addiction seemed very realistic.

But as much as I love the author, I have to call her out on one thing. In her sex scenes (which were, as usual, smoking hot), she used one of our banned penis-related phrases. I won’t call out which one. (And in all fairness, the book was written and published before our list, so she was writing without the rule book. We’ll take ownership of the error...this time.)

All in all, the story was fantastic and exactly what I’ve come to expect from this author. I highly recommend this series to all fans of the paranormal romance genre. But if you haven’t already, start with Blood Hunger. You’ll thank me later.

I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.

This installment is about Christian and Ryan and focuses on their addictions.
Christian is a vampire cursed to forever hunger for a woman's touch. Ryan is a stripper who uses heroin to drown the voices that keep screaming at her.
I felt the story did drag on a bit sometimes and Ryan was always poised to run. She saw no way out of her addiction. Christian was having a hard time understanding his need for Ryan and if it was only his addiction.
Together they helped each other.
Quite a bit of action. Not much steam and i think it could have done with more. Easy to follow the story line even though i hadn't read the others in the series. Nice steady flow throughout most of the book.
Looking forward to reading the previous releases and book 5.

Blood Betrayal is the story of Christian and Ryan. Christian is the vampire cursed to forever hunger for a woman's touch, whilst Ryan is a stripper who uses heroin to quiet the voices that only she can hear.

Their story, given the nature of their 'addictions', is darker than the others, although Nik and Aiden still have their moments. You also still get a good view of the others' relationships and know they are still as strong as ever. Shea also makes an appearance in this one, although she has a mighty case of PMS bitchdom, and is basically rude to everyone. Not her best moments!

Very well-written, with few editing and grammatical errors to disrupt you, this book is an enjoyable read. It has both action and steam, alongside some characters that you will know and love if you have read the previous books. Definitely recommended by me.

I've loved this series from first reading book one. The story has progressed and the characters have evolved with each new book. This installment didn't disappoint as we learnt Christian's story as well as bringing in my favourite characters from previous books.

In series' sometimes the earlier characters that we love get forgotten, but this author keeps their stories alive and makes you want to go back and read the previous books again.

Filled with vampires, blood, passion, and tackling the subject of addiction I couldn't put it down until I got to the end ❤

Can be read as a stand alone, but I would highly recommend reading the whole series!!

A definitely darker reading experience with the dealing with her drug addiction to quiet the voices, but also brought out the hope, caring and unique understanding that she received. It's a journey through to get to help and happiness that will put the readers emotions along with their struggles and story. L.E. Wilson's BLOOD BETRAYAL is going to keep your full attention. I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND YOU PICK UP AND READ!
