From Best Selling Author, Ali Parker comes a new Billionaire Series filled with sexiness, humor and intense attraction...
Life respects nothing… including fame.
Riley has finally relented to Ethan’s subtle pushing and agreed to a friends with benefits relationship. It would seem the best answer for both of their desires, but life quickly butts in. With her mother having suffered a horrible accident, Riley has to head back to L.A. to deal with the aftermath.
Ethan works with Frank and Deza to continue filming, but things aren’t the same without Riley. He quickly realizes that the pretty young actress has slipped under his skin. He wants more than a professional relationship and the occasional romp in the sheets, but he’s the great Ethan Lewis. If he’s not single and teasing women with the hope that they might end up his in the end… is he still marketable?
As things settle back down, Deza decides to bring in someone to help Riley get up to speed, but unexpectedly, it’s not a female, but Ethan’s greatest nemesis. Riley needed a mentor to study under, but never in a million years would Ethan have dreamed it would be Clayton Welms.
Simple enough – Deza must hate him.
This is book 3 in a continued series.
18+ Explicit sexual content and possible foul language.

I absolutely love Movie Star romance and this series is amazing!
Every book leading to this one was SO GOOD and Understudy is no different.
I'm waiting with baited breath for book 4 so I can finally see these two get together! I love the anticipation though. That's the best part and not many books have it.
If you One-click anything this summer, it should be the Bright Lights Series.
****I received this Author Copy in exchange for an honest Review. ****
Fate can be an unmitigated witch. Just as Ethan and Riley start connecting at more than a surface level, getting real and unguarded with one another, they’re hit by a curveball that takes away all the forward progress they’d made. Ethan’s finally starting to spend more time acting his real age and it’s getting easier to see his redeeming qualities. It’s also easier to understand why he hides behind so many layers of masks. Riley’s come so far as to admit, to herself at least, that she has genuine feelings for Ethan and is taking steps to come to terms with them. I’m more anxious than ever to see what happens next between this tumultuous pair. I received a complimentary copy of this book.
It was good but the previous one was slight a little better. I honestly expected that they would have had sex by now but you know what they say: Denying and waiting is the best foreplay. I really do love reading these books.
I thought that except for the first book i would give them all 5stars but this one i will only give 4stars. It's not bad , not at all. But i just thought that they would be further along in their relationship. I hope i get to read more of that in the next book.
Still not sure about Ethan in this book. He shows redeeming qualities and then goes and does something stupid. My heart broke for Riley with her losses. I do think that both of these characters need each other, but they need to get their heads straight.
Understudy picks up with Ethan and Riley finally agreeing to move from being co-workers into something more like friends with benefits, but then tragedy hits. Riley faces the darkness after her nightmare hits her head on. She starts to pull back a little and reestablish the boundaries between her and Ethan and just focus on her career.
Riley's sudden departure throws Ethan for an emotion tailspin. He hates her for stealing his heart. He needs to put a stop to the fantasy of Riley before if leaves him with no choice but to chase after it. He can't handle that thought. He thinks living a life of fulfillment is not his lot in life. His passion and pleasure and drive come from his pain. Who would he be without it? Besides she was far too much woman for him outside of the bedroom. She was mature, educated and knew how to get what she wanted in life. Whereas, he was the same as he'd always been... Pretending to be whoever they wanted him to be at the time they wanted it. He didn't know how to be any other way. But what do you do when you find someone that really makes your heart sing, and you're somewhat locked to them forever?
As they both navigate where their friendship takes them...can they hold the sexual tension at bay? Riley wants to belong to him, but it wasn't happening anytime soon. She needs to heal, to find herself again, or maybe for the first time ever. Can Ethan be what she needs while she figures it out? Is Riley the one who can make Ethan focus on what he most out of life...love? Or will he continue to sabotage what they could have with his lustful deviations?
Ali Parker has done it again with this 3rd installment of the Bright Lights Billionaire series! She weaves a store that captures her audience leaving us waiting with baited breath for what's coming next! I love Riley and how she perseveres when faced with the lot she's been dealt in life. Ethan may be rich and famous but he's longing for the one thing we all want...to live his life and be himself. Will these two finally realize that with each other they can both finally get what they've always wanted...to love and be loved? Can't wait for the Book 4!
Bright lights and Hollywood entice you in this third installment of the Bright Lights Billionaire Books. Ethan Lewis is every girl's dream while other guys want to be like him - all because of his fame on the big screen. Riley Phillips is trying to finish up her acting degree at UCLA and start her acting career as Ethan's new girl in his latest movie. The two have been playing a game of "hit or miss" in regards to hooking up. They have these intense feelings for each other and were ready to see where it might take them (friends with benefits definitely) and then tragedy strikes for Riley putting everything on hold. Ethan has so many opportunities to show Riley his "real side" not the "I'm always in actor mode" but never capitalizes on these so Riley thinks things have changed. It was interesting how each were leaning towards finding release in someone else but didn't go through with it because it wasn't the person they wanted. Just when you think these two might get together, Ethan receives news that if Riley were to find out just might sabotage what they've started. So many times I wanted to scream, "Just call her.....why aren't you calling her?" Or "Why can't Riley call/text Ethan....good grief this isn't the age where girls can't contact guys!" Looking forward to how they continue this two-step dance and only hope that in the end their HEA will be well worth the wait! Received an ARC for an honest review so if you love Movie Star romances then check this one out. I have never been disappointed in one of Ali's books.
Ongoing series that ends with another cliffhanger!
Understudy is part three in an ongoing series that moves the story along between movie co-stars, Riley and Ethan, who are just getting closer again after tragedy tore them apart at the end of book 2 when another curve ball strikes. Continuing to be told from both perspectives, the relationship between Ethan and Riley is still being built up but there is little in terms of romance in this book between the two main characters until the very end and then it’s only a short glimpse although things do heat up again.
As always it was well written, relatively short and easy to follow. You do need to have read the previous book in this series to understand things. Also, if you are not a fan of cliffhangers and want a full romantic story without talk of sexual escapades between main characters and extras, you won’t enjoy this book.
I will warn you, this is a slow building series so you do need to be patient. If you like that sort of thing, I would definitely say check out this series.
*I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.
Fighting Attractions I have been trying to figure out how to write a review for this book. Not in a bad way, in a good way! It's hard to write an amazing review for another amazing book, when these books just keep getting better! I have yet to be disappointed in one of Ali's books and this one was...you need to start this series! Emotional, frustrated, making sure warranty is still covered...for me anyways, as I yell at my eReader. This is the third book in the series and it picks up where Center Stage left off. Riley dealing with another tragedy and Ethan dealing with whether to call her for comfort. These two really need to catch a break! Both of them, instead of going to each other for the comfort they want, turn to others. Sigh. While Riley is working of graduating UCLA, she asks Deza for help with movie, and Deza gets her an understudy. Why did Deza pick Ethan's nemesis? I loved that Ian & Cole from Forgotten Bodyguard were in this book. When things seem to look positive, life tests Ethan again. Can everybody carry the weight of the outcome?
Ethan and Riley are going to be the death of me. I swear! These two need to figure it out. In the wake of Riley's tragedy, they decide to cool their jets, all the while still hot for each other. Despite their distance, they both still want each other. However, many obstacles pop up that put their desires to the test. Ethan is already struggling with Riley's "friend with benefits". How is he going to deal with him being so close to Riley and giving her his emotional support as well? Can Riley and Ethan just have a physical relationship? Oooohh and the drama is heating up with Clayton and Deza meddling in their relationship. What is the real motive behind that? Things are getting juicy!!!
Riley is killing me. My heart is bleeding for her character. Ethan is evoking something in me as well. He is like a lost boy that feels no one truly loves him for the real boy he is. This series is wonderful and gets better with each installment. From the first page to the last, I cannot put the book down. They leave me wanting, no, needing more. A truly great series.
This is the third book in an amazing series that will grip you from word one and then hold your hand while you try to imagine what you are going to do until the next book. Ali Parker does not disappoint with any of her books, especially this one.
This story picks up where Riley has just received terrible news. Her life is flipped upside down and Ethan has no idea how to help her. We see the devastation this leaves Riley in and the pain is palpable. Ethan starts to act like the man I always knew he could be. In true Ali Parker style, love does not come easy, especially for these two.
I think Ali loves leaving these books on a cliffhanger because she knows how devastating it is to us as readers. The good thing about a cliffhanger is you know that there will be another book. So let me hang all you want, it just means I have something to wait for.
I absolutely love this series, and each book just keeps getting better and better. Ali Parker is the queen of cliffhangers, and this one has a big one, but her books are always so good, they are worth the wait. Even though the two main people in this book is Ethan and Riley, Ali does such a good job developing all the characters, not just the main ones, so when you are reading it, you can feel their emotions, and there are some really strong emotions in this book. Once I started it, I devoured it. There was no stopping. This series is a must read, but this is book 3, so you have to go back and read them in order if you haven't. I received this book from the author in return for an honest review, and I highly recommend this book and this series.
WOW! It seems I find myself typing a lot saying how great Ali's books are but the really are just that great. If there is one thing that I would change about the books, it is that they were longer. I really enjoy reading all of her books but some I really wish were longer. I love her writing style and I love the plots she has going with these books. In this book you see Riley struggle with more than one problem. This book has a lot of sexual tension in it. IT seems that Riley & Ethan can not catch a break. There is always something waiting around the next corner for them. You don't want to miss out on this book. It keeps gettting better
Understudy, book three in the Bright Lights Billionaire series, and picks up right from the ending of book two. As tragedy strikes close to home for Riley, she's forced to leave the set and return home. As Ethan stays behind to begin working on their movie with Frank, and his agent Deza, he struggles with doing the right thing or throwing caution to the wind and running after Riley. When Deza hires acting coach Clayton to work with Riley, will Ethan be able to control how he feels for Riley? Or will the pair finally turn to each other for comfort? I was given a copy of this book in exchange for a voluntary review.
Book 2 left off with Riley getting a phone call about her mom being in a car accident. This pick up with Riley returning to LA from Rio to deal with the situation. Upon finding out her Mom didn't survive all she wants is Ethan but won't reach out to him .. all Ethan wants to do is be there for Riley but won't reach out to her.. this is pretty much the whole book. They want to reach out to each other but won't. Then Ethan gets himself into a predicament just as things with Riley could possibly be going good.
Cliffhanger ending.. Waiting now for Book 4
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
URGH..... Will poor Ethan ever get a brake, cause everytime it seems like it's gonna go good for him something bad happens in his life!!!! Poor Ethan. I really love this guy!!! This book was really good and the emotions in this one with Riley's mom passing was so good. I really do hope that these 2 can get a break and be together cause I think they are made for each other!!! Can't wait for book 4!!!!
I love this series! I could hardly wait for this installment and now I'm desperately waiting for the next! I love the relationship Ethan and Deza have! For some reason I also love Jace's character and have hopes for him! Ali continues to belt out the plots-though this one is somewhat cliché as we talk about Hollywood and celebrities.. It still SO SO GOOD!
So much sexual tension. You can feel it pouring of the page of Mrs. Parker's newest novel. Poor Riley has to bury her mother and find a way to finish school and the final performance all while balancing her emotions. Both Ethan and Riley are resisting the pull they feel toward each other. Can they resist? This novel will have you teased and hoping for that release.
This series is so good, it kept me glued to my seat and could not put down! Love the characters and the story! The chemistry between the two main characters is so palpable. Another great story by Ali Parker. Waiting impatiently for the next book in this series! amazon.com/Understudy-Bright-Lights-B...
Understudy is the next instalment of the exciting Bright Lights Billionaire series. The twists and turns kept me glued to my kindle I had to read what happened next. Just when I thought Riley and Ethan we getting closer to eachother BAM!! Yep something else is standing in their way. This is a great series and I can't wait to get part 4.
This was just okay to me on this one. Still too short for the price (but I was in a reading rut so splurged). Very predictable ending and I didn't quite get Riley's reaction to her mom. Don't get me wrong, I'd be devastated to lose my mom, but they seemed to not have a close relationship based on past books and her mom was into drugs, etc. The breakdown at the funeral was too dramatic for me.
Every time it seems like life may smooth out, something crashes through it! Riley and Ethan just can't catch a break. I can't wait to see how they handle the newest messed up situations. Held my interest from beginning to end. Another winner for Ali!
Life doesn't run smoothly, not even for Hollywood stars & things always seem to get in the way for Riley & Ethan. Absolutely love these characters & Liam & COLE are in this one too so that's just a bonus.
I loved this book. the story of Riley and Ethan is one that has me glued till the end, the twists, the ups and downs in their relationship are so refreshing they have me on edge. The cliffhanger though....
I loved this book. Riley and Ethan continue to fight their attraction to each other, and no matter how hard they try, they cannot stay away from each other. Ali Parker is a fantastic writer and I cannot wait to read more of her books.
