Forging Forever #2

Tasting Temptation

Rate this book
After last summer’s failed attempt at romance, Gina is absolutely done with men. And especially with millionaires. She has a good job as a fashion editor and amazing friends, and she’s decided she needs nothing else. All she really misses is the sex. But that rush just isn’t worth the risk of being ensnared in another relationship. When the hot bartender at her best friend’s Sonoma wedding suggests some harmless stress relief, she takes him up on the offer. When it’s sufficiently satisfactory, she indulges in a repeat—for the road. When she learns he’s actually the wealthy owner of the vineyard, the mix of fury and fear is damped only by the knowledge that she never has to see him again.

Hunter Cavaliere is determined to honor his grandfather’s legacy, and so far, he’s right on track. The vineyard is thriving, he has plans for expansion, and his wines speak for themselves. The only thing missing is the right woman to share it all. But through his grandparents’ marriage, Hunter learned what true love is, and he’s unwilling to settle for anything else. A woman who judges him because of his money definitely isn’t high up on his list. Still, when circumstance unbelievably keeps bumping him into the intriguing brunette from Portland, he can’t shake the feeling that she is someone he should pursue.

Gina’s poised to run the other way, but one more taste of Hunter may just prove too tempting to resist.

I love the pretty cover for Tasting Temptation by Aria Glazki. It is simple, yet hints at more than meets the eye. I think it perfectly portrays Gina, who is broken, and I want her whole again. Will she meet the man who can help her?

Tasting Temptation is Book II in the Foraging Forever series. I have read Mending Heartstrings, Book I, and wonder why I only gave it three stars after reading Gina’s story. I think because the characters are polar opposites and I can relate to Gina better than Sabella. Sabella is the goody two shoes kind of gal, while Gina is carefree and flirty with sexual innuendos lacing her dialogue. Her defenses are up and the walls are high, after being badly burned by a rich playboy and I wonder at the type of man that can heal her.

The story starts out hot and heavy and immediately grabbed my attention. To Gina, Hunter is a hot and sexy boy toy and I think I would like to play with him too. Gina meets him at the vineyard where her best friend, Sabella, is getting married. She kept telling herself the single life and casual sex with a yummy guy was for her. I think she is in for a wake up call. I think we all know what is to come, but at 18% into Gina’s story, I am hooked and loving every minute of it. We are getting to the heart of the matter and I am eager to see how it plays out.

Her past nightmare playboy has entered the picture and the abuse of wealth and privilege and his need for revenge creates an insidious evil that touches everyone who comes near her. I am so pissed at him that my anger brings tears to my eyes and I want to reach through my kindle and wreak my own havoc. I didn’t cry…until I was 90% into the story.

Novels that are strictly romance are not big on my hit list, but I love Gina and Hunter. Their romance left me as breathless as Gina was. Even though I know how Tasting Temptation will end, I can hardly wait to get there. I knew there would be a happy every after and Aria Glazki’s writing had me unable to quit until I reached it.

I received a copy of Tasting Temptation by Aria Glazki in return for an honest review.

As much as I loved Mending Heartstrings (and it is very good), this book is even better. Gina's ill-fated relationship is portrayed in the background of the first book, setting the stage for her to have her own story. Her confidence shattered, Gina's coping mechanism of choice is to avoid all emotional entanglements with men in order to avoid any risk of another abusive relationship. She tells herself she's happy with just meaningless sex when she needs it, and nothing more. Then she meets Hunter at her best friend's wedding, and it doesn't take him long to realize that he's fighting an uphill battle trying to get her to trust him, herself, and even her own judgment.

This book doesn't make use of the usual intense showdown, ultimate defeat of the villain, rockets-and-fireworks HEA, or similar plot devices. Rather, it's more real-world honest, with justice being served in a way that we could believe would actually happen. Hunter and Gina's relationship is portrayed the same way, as realistic people struggling with tough issues and scars of the past. It's also different in that the physical side of their relationship is the part that just clicks perfectly, right from the start, and it sustains their connection while the emotional depths are being conquered.

The author credibly handled a very difficult subject with tenderness, compassion, and hope. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Gina has been single since she got out of her abusive relationship to a wealthy man a year previous.
When she finds out that Hunter was more than the bartender at her best friends wedding she runs away. Turns out he is the owner of the vineyard that her friends wedding was at, and she certainly does not want another wealthy man. Hunter convinces her to give him a try by pretty much letting her lead the way. When her ex starts to meddle in her life she feels it is time to walk away. Will Hunter let her go or will he fight to keep her?
This was a good quick read.

It was just an ok book for me. It is missing a lot of content to understand as a standalone book. I wish it went into more depth about what happened after leaving her job and moving out of her apartment, but it only gave a possibility, not what actually happened.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I began this book, but its characters grew on me--not just the wealthy winery owner, Hunter Cavaliere, but also the jaded Gina, whose past relationship has turned her off controlling rich men.

How Hunter works his way into her heart was endearing, not just for his patience, but also his intuitive understanding of what Gina needed. How her past has affected her is doled out in tiny snippets that kept me wanting more, the better to understand her.

An affecting story.

OMG. I think I might've forgotten to breathe while reading this! I liked this one even better than Mending Heartstrings -- MH is really sweet, much more romance-with-a-capital-R, but TT felt so real, with real doubts and heartache and traumas. Also, this book had way more sex in it, which is always a plus in my book.

"Tasting Temptation" is a wonderfully Sexy Romance with a Swoon-worthy Hero and an Intriguing Heroine who is a Beautiful yet Fragile Survivor. Aria Glazki has continued her Forging Forever series focusing on Gina, the fashion editor, who got involved with a emotionally and physically abusive wealthy Financier, Alistair, in the previous novel. Although she has made tremendous strides reclaiming her life, she is wary of wealthy men and relationships and avoids them at all costs. The terrible words that Alistair planted in her mind, of not being good enough or refined enough are still rooted deep and she does not want to relinquish her control to any man ever again. The Hero is Hunter Cavaliere, the runs the family owned California winery. Though he is wealthy he is extremely down to earth and bases his life, professionally and personally, on how his Grandfather did things. Although Gina and Hunter live in different states they keep randomly "bumping into" each other, and just as his Grandfather did Hunter believes things happen for a reason. There is an instantaneous sexual connection between Gina and Hunter but as these "random" meetings proceed they become more personal and intimate. I loved "Tasting Temptation" even more than the previous installment in the Forging Forever series due to it's complex story-line, the vulnerability of the main characters, and the passion between the hero and heroine. The ending seemed to come up a little fast and the epilogue felt as though it should have been set a little further in the future so that it would have been more of a satisfying Happily Ever After closure. But those are rather minor complaints for an overall feel good romantic book.
"Tasting Temptation" is so fleshed out with lovable and engaging characters and are incredibly endearing. Aria Glazki did an amazing job showing the effects of Gina's being in a toxic relationship and the tenderness and care that Hunter takes in loving and caring for her until she can see her worth in his eyes. The hero and heroine's passion for each other is undeniable. Hunter and Gina are an incredibly loving and affectionate couple and their feelings for each other is ever adorable to each other. I really would have loved to see them actually watch a movie like Hunter kept offering. Because it seemed like their relationship was almost based on sex even though there was so much affection and tenderness, just seeing some regular couple "downtime" would have been welcome. As mentioned before the ending seemed a little abrupt and having the epilogue acting as the ending would have kept it from feeling that way then put in a set in the more distant future Epilogue would have provided a Happily Ever After with a more gratifying ending. With main characters who are passionate and affectionate main characters, a complex story line, and the magic of the Destiny of Love "Tasting Temptation" is a must read.

This story is emotionally gripping and explosive at the same time. I haven't read the first book in this series, but I may just go back and read it after this one. I didn't feel like I missed any vital parts because I didn't read the first one, which was great. I hate feeling like there's something I don't know. Glazki really knows how to write a book, and she keeps your attention with real situations and hot men.

I love hot men.

Gina has gone through a lot. She's been torn around physically and emotionally by men so she comes to the conclusion that she doesn't need them. Except, of course, to sate her primal needs. But she's in no way looking for an attachment, or the dreaded word: a boyfriend. Yuck. I love Gina. Despite everything she's gone through, she really is a fighter and doesn't ever stop. She's brave and strong, and someone I strive to be.

But her plans don't go to plan.

Because hot man.

Wow, wow and once again wow. This is one of the best contemporary romance books I have read all year. READ IT NOW!!!

Although this is the second book in the series, and I haven't read the first, there was enough background info given by the author to allow me to pick up the background story (this is about another couple) without giving away too many spoilers. In fact I am now desperate to read book 1.

The book is written mainly from Gina's POV, and she is a strong, determined but very human character. You get to know her and, more importantly, to LIKE the character. Her actions and reactions fit well and are believable for her personality and experiences. I felt Gina's anxiety, fear, pain and turmoil. The story was so well written it felt very believable that her life could be made so difficult in the way it was (trying to avoid spoilers here).

There are enough scenes written from the hero's POV (Hunter) that you also get to know him as a character. He is wonderful, caring and strong but not too alpha/domineering. He is a very real character. In fact all the characters in the book are well thought through and very rounded. There are several steamy and detailed sex scenes, but these are tastefully done and do not dominate the book.

This book is so much more than a simple romance - there is an intense subplot running alongside the potential romance story. The plot was very well thought through, the story flowed well and the book is so easy to read. This, for me, was a book I did not want to put down until I had finished it. It also made me want to immediately buy and read everything else by this author.

If you are looking for a quick and easy book to read this is the one. Tasting Temptation is an enjoyable read with some very hot naughtiness thrown in to keep the reader involved in Gina and Hunter's "just one night" relationship that keeps becoming another night.

The author does a phenomenal job of describing the wine country and all the scene details throughout the book. Her attention to detail shows throughout the book.

And, of course there has to be someone to cause problems and honestly Gina's ex was extremely bad in my opinion with no redeeming qualities but he added more necessary meat to the plot.

The reader will enjoy this read and I give it 3.5 STARS

I enjoyed this well-written, sweet book. Gina has had bad experiences with men, especially her wealthy ex-boyfriend, so now she just engages in no strings attached "stress relief" occasionally when she meets someone she won't encounter on a regular basis. While at a friend's wedding at a vineyard in Sonoma, she takes up the bartender, Hunter on his offer. Turns out Hunter is not just a bartender, he's the vineyard owner, and when circumstances cause them to bump into each other in Oregon, he follows his instincts that there is something special going on. This is a stand alone book, though it is also part of a series with related characters. I can't wait to read the other books in this series, as well as anything else this author has written!

Hunter and Gina were fun together. I loved that she assumed he was a bartender and didn't care to get any information about him...and then was made he didn't tell her. I thought it was so funny. I liked how they kept ending up together. Hunter believed in the HEA after watching his grandparents love, but Gina wasn't too convinced it existed. I liked the patience he showed in wooing her into believing it. He had a lot to overcome after that disaster with Allistair she had endured. I was pleased when she did let go and allow the love to happen.

2.5 stars. For me I just couldn't get into the characters. Most characters all had rather unique names and it took me several chapters before I got straight who was who. I also couldn't get into the two main characters. To me, a man who would have a quickie with a random customer in his place of business after exchanging a dozen words is undesirable.

I was really disappointed. As a wino I was really excited for a romance involving a vineyard. I just never connected with any of the characters. I will try other books by this author in hopes that she has characters I can connect with.

I received a copy for an honest review. The story revolves around Gina's wish to remain emotionally disattached to men, especially rich men. When she meets Hunter, she has to fight against all the emotional and physical scars from her past relationship. As the story evolves, you understand her hesitation but as it gets more complicated with her ex, I was rooting for Hunter and fell in love with his character. I also admired her determination to recapture her life. My only critique was that although it ended sweetly, that there was an epilogue that would have been the icing on the cake. It was a wonderful read and I recommend it.

Aria Glazki warned me: this would be an explicit romance. Well, there was indeed a lot of sex involved, almost from the start.
The sort of sex you dream of, and do not always want to happen in real life.
But, the book is not just about sex. It is also the story of a woman who has been abused, has freed herself and now is facing abuse again. But she fights back.
Because of her personal history she is scared of permanent relationships.
The story has it all, the strength, weakness, lust and love. I liked it.
Sometimes I did think there was another book before this one, which is indeed the case: Mending Heartstrings.

A sweet and spicy romance about a woman overcoming the emotional scarring of of an abusive relationship. Gina was my favorite character from Mending Heartstrings, so naturally, I was excited to read about what happens to her after her bad breakup at the end of the previous book. Glazki does not disappoint in telling a compelling story about the long, hard process of learning to trust again. A satisfying, quick read.

I was intrigued with the blurb right off bat. This book was good and I enjoyed the characters but I hated the way it ended. I thought it needed more. I felt like there was more questions that needed to be answered. I loved Gina and Hunter together. They have an fun and flirty relationship. They are able to be themselves and live life. I also loved all her friends and Hunter's family as well. It was great book to read!
