This is by far the best book I have found for preparing young children for the upcoming arrival of a new baby in the family, or for dealing with their feelings after the baby has arrived. The girl in the book goes through so many of the same feelings and experiences that a majority of new older siblings go through. Plus, the illustrations are great. One final note: this is one of only two "new baby in the family" books I have encountered that feature a breastfeeding mother--the other also by Catherine Anholt (Sophie and the New Baby).

Small children can relate to this book by the emotions and experiences that an older sibling may experience when they become a big brother or big sister. The book would be a wonderful tool for preparing children for the impending arrival of a new baby as well as coping with their feelings. I would read this to my children when preparing emotionally for a younger sibling. It also is not common for children's books to be breastfeeding inclusive so that was a very good addition.

This book is a cute way to get kids prepared for a new family member. So many new feelings and emotions will overcome them, but in the end it is the best thing in the world.

This is a great book to use when preparing a sibling for the new addition to the family. I wouldn't use it as a read aloud, but it still is a great read. I just don't think it's place is in the classroom, as that could raise many questions that I'm not ready to answer! Still, I give this book a 5 out of 5 as this illustrations and story line are great.

I really enjoyed this story about a girl who's expecting a baby brother. When he arrives all is fine at first, but the novelty wears off and she's not feeling so lucky anymore. What can turn things around for her? Learning to be mommy's big girl helper, that's what!
