Crosby. Lynch.

Um, guys, I've found a new book boyfriend, and I'm not sure this swoony heartbreaker will ever fully leave me. Actually, I'm not sure I would let him. He was...sinfully sexy, thoughtful and kind, oh, so loving, and more than a little broken.

And he's got me addicted.

Actually, Michelle Lynn has me addicted—to this new series, and to her books in general. I've never NOT loved something of hers, and Rounding Third is no exception.

I adored—adored—this book. It was so emotional for me, as I watched Crosby and Ella try to work past their fears, their tragedy, and get to a future that they so obviously deserved. They were lovely together; all sweetness and heat, a little sass and a handful of heart-pounding moments when I wasn't sure they'd make it.

Both of these characters felt so real and raw and authentic to me. They were a fairytale by way of a nightmare and the way Ms. Lynn crafted their story—paced to perfection, free-flowing from beginning to end—meant that, even when I was struggling to hold back tears over lost futures and missed chances, I was still so, so fucking happy to be reading this book.

I know, I know. This review is basically me gushing and fangirling over Ms. Lynn, and her sublime Crosby Lynch, but once you read Rounding Third—which you MUST—you'll understand.

That doesn't mean I'm sharing my new book boyfriend though... Now, bring on Brax! ~ Beth, 5 Diamond stars

Well, this hit the mother load of #feels. All of them. Every single one. From the gut-wrenching to the heart-warming to everything in between. And it was phenomenal!

I wasn't really prepared for this story. I mean the blurb does set you up to know there is going to be a WOW moment/factor ... but I wasn't prepared. Because it wasn't just one moment. Crosby and Ella's entire journey was a wow factor. And again ... phenomenal.

If you're looking for a typical sports romance, this isn't it. Although sports does play a major role in the story, this is not a sports romance. Just though I'd throw that little tidbit out there for ya lol

I'm tempted to really dig in on this review but at the same time, I really want everyone to experience this story like I did. Not being prepared for what was coming made this story more powerful. It made their journey so much more poignant. This is truly one of those times that it pays not to read reviews before you read! #TRUST

So I leave you with this ... read this story because it is love in its purest form. It will make you laugh and cry and gasp and swoon and in the end, you will have a huge smile on your face!

Eyes ahead…that’s how Crosby Lynch has tried to live his life ever since that fateful night when his life and the lives of so many he loves changed forever.

But it’s difficult to look ahead when the past still clearly controls Crosby’s life; he hasn’t dealt with the aftermath; in fact, he ran away from it, allowing the pain, guilt, and regret to consume him and leading him down a path much different than the one he had planned. Crosby’s not truly living in the present nor he is working towards a solid future because he’s plagued by the demons that continue to chase him because he chose to try and heal without the love of his life, which only allowed him to borrow the memories instead of working to lay them to rest.

Ella Keaton’s future was another one that was drastically changed that night; she was forced to say goodbye to the love of her life and try to move forward without her heart, and while she dealt with what happened with therapy and time, she never fully healed because the boy who was supposed to be her forever chose to leave her to face the memories alone and deal with a future that didn’t include him.

Rounding third and coming home is a fantastic metaphor for where Crosby and Ella find themselves when they see each other two years later; it has never been more pivotal or more agonizing than Crosby’s return to Ella’s life and his return to the small town where everything went wrong. Crosby and Ella share a powerful connection that can’t be broken even with the hurt felt and the distance given. But in order to get their respective futures back on target and find a way to be together again, they must face the past and find a way to move on despite the people who seem to want Crosby to always suffer for what he did and even Crosby himself doesn’t know how to not blame himself for everything that happened.

Michelle Lynn is a great storyteller because her stories delve into realistic situations that unequivocally define and transform people’s lives. Because readers get both Crosby and Ella’s perspective, we can understand how deeply they’re scarred by what happened and how deeply they love one another regardless of the amount of time that’s passed and what they’ve done while apart. In order for them to heal…in order for their small hometown to heal, they all need to learn to let go and stop blaming someone who did nothing wrong.

Life is meant to be lived and neither Crosby nor Ella were truly living the two years they spent apart, but now that they’ve reunited, they can have what they’ve always wanted as long as the past is dealt with and the thoughts of guilt and regret are addressed. Because without that healing, their eyes will never remain ahead!

This book is full of the feels! I fell hard for Crosby Lynch and Ella Keaton and their tragic yet beautiful story!

Rounding Third is a beautifully written second chance romance by Michelle Lynn. Two years ago everything changed for Crosby and Ella and they haven’t seen each other and have tried to move forward, all of that changes when Crosby ends up at the same school as Ella and their paths cross.

Immediately you can see how much love these two characters have for one another, but we don’t know the full story of what happened that drove them apart. As the book progresses and we get to see why they have been separated, my heart broke for both of them and everything they have been through. Watching the two of them work through their past, and trying to to make their way back to one another was heartbreaking and beautiful. Crosby has never stopped loving Ella, and you can see this throughout the entire book. He’s cocky, but not in an arrogant way. He knows Ella is his, he just needs to prove to her that he’s the right guy for her.

This book had me in tears, and had me swooning. I loved Crosby and Ella’s story and how great they are together. They have both been through so much, but together they are much stronger than they are apart. The ending of this book was beautiful and left me so freaking happy. Things were definitely not easy for this couple but everything worked out as it should. The secondary character in this book are also amazing! Brax, Spencer, Ariel, Jen, Ollie, all of the guys on the team, I loved them and hope we get more stories from them as well.

If you’re looking for a second chance romance that you won’t be able to put down, I highly suggest one-clicking your copy of Rounding Third by Michelle Lynn today. This book had me captivated from beginning to end and I wasn’t ready to let these characters go when we reached “the end”. I only wish we would have gotten a bit more of an ending for these two characters, but one can only hope we will see them in the future!

This book was a constant back and forth with high school worthy drama.

It’s basically footloose except there were survivors in the car and the driver, Crosby, is being labeled a murderer. It ruined his life.

I really couldn’t connect with these characters. They are College age students but act 15.

And what is up with 99.9% of all the girls in that college being ridiculously slutty and overly aggressive. I can’t count the number of times Crosby was unwillingly touched or groped by dozens of random women. What kind of college did the author go to. All of the attempts to make the H and h jealous we’re just too much. I couldn’t even focus on the “story”.

When a traumatic event changes the lives of Ella and Crosby forever this young couple, who were so in love and devoted to each other make the decision to break up.

Two years later, Crosby has his life somewhat together, off to the same college as Ella and decides he wants his girl back.

Man, I love a second chance romance if it's done well and this was done well. I'll be truthful, I was in it for Crosby Lynch throughout once I saw what kind of MC he was going to be ( determined, so fkn in love that I couldn't stand the gorgeousness of it! )

New to me author. I'd definitely read more of this series.

This is the first book in the Infield Series by Michelle Lynn and my first read from this Author. It was such a well written book with characters and a story that just pulls at your heart strings. It’s full of first loves, heartbreaking tragedy and the sometimes long and painful journey of forgiving yourself and letting go. I really loved Ella and Crosby’s story and felt really connected to these characters.

Ella and Crosby were High School sweethearts who had their whole life ahead of them and would soon be off to College until one night when tragedy struck. All of the sudden their lives were forever altered and the small town they grew up in was shaken to its core. Not seeing any other options as Crosby’s family was basically ran out of town the two go their separate ways. The once golden boy of the town’s baseball team and his sweet beautiful love were no more and neither knew where to go from here. But both knew they had no choice but to let go.

“Everyone’s familiar with the story of the kid who held his dreams in the palms of his hands, only to demolish his future before he had the chance to claim it.”

Fast forward two years and Crosby accepts the third baseman position for the Ridgemont College Tigers Division one baseball team. Baseball has always been his dream as long as he could remember, but Ella was also his dream and two years without her is two years to long. So not only is he ready to fight for his baseball career but he is also ready to fight for Ella. Luckily both her and his new positon are at the same college.

“ The lineup is in, and there’s only one name on the roster.”

When Ella enters her friends party the last person she expected to see in the world is standing in front of her and even though it’s been two years since they said goodbye her heart and body are still drawn to him. Crosby and all his glory informs her he is there to win her back, that he knows without a doubt he should have never let her go. But two years is a long time and Ella has been trying to move on, she has a douchebag. Oh my bad I mean she has a boyfriend and she is trying her best to pretend life is somewhat normal. Crosby knows that fateful night two years ago still haunts both of them but he is determined to do anything he can to win back the girl he never stopped loving. Ella fights him every step of the way and it becomes a lot of push and pull. What mostly holds them hostage is their past and the night they both carry immense guilt over. But the love they feel is so strong you can feel it and are truly rooting for them to have their happily ever after. But will they be able to move on from the past? I truly loved both of these characters. Ella was a strong women with such a kind heart but also didn’t take any shit from anyone. Crosby, oh how I loved him. The guilt he carried on his shoulders, that they both carried was enough to crush anyone. This was a beautiful story of two people who needed to find a way to forgive themselves and each other. To let go and realize some burdens are not yours to have to carry alone. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series of stand-alones.

“ I’ll always tell someone who I belong to, and that’s you, Ella Keaton. I belong to you. My heart isn’t mine. It’s yours. Always has been and always will be.”

Rounding Third by Michelle Lynn
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Who loves a GOOD 2nd chance romance?? MEEEE!! That is who!! I gotta say this is the first baseball romance book that I have read (or can remember) and I loved it. As much as I love rockers and motorcycle hotties, I was loving this new hero story….well new for me anyway.
This is the story of high school love that is torn apart by an accident…...by a simple tragedy. Our town hero baseball stud gets the blame and is essentially chased outta town. He doesn’t want to hurt the love of his life so he lets her go as well as run from the pain of the situation.
When the story begins to unfold we see our baseball hottie Crosby getting a 2nd chance at life in general. He is going to be playing baseball for another college. This college he will reunite with his best friend Brax and his love El. He needs her and it’s taken him 2 years to figure it crap out!! El is stunned when Cros reenters her life…she has moved on….or tried to move on and is not sure if her heart can handle his return.
The couple have so much to deal with from outside forces trying to break them apart because he is a “super star athlete” to their home town hating him to her family saying apart they will lead better lives but El and Crosby can’t let go. They are the air the other needs.
As the story unfolds we get more and more details of the “night” that changed their lives. When the final showdown happens I GASPED at what El tells our “villain” but was happy to see her taking a stand for the man she loves and the man she can’t be without.
The series, I am super stoked for!! I can’t wait for Brax book. I kinda wiggled my eyes at him and am like “hey Michelle I need more dets on this guy” and especially about who he was comforting after a bad night!!!????

ROUNDING THIRD was the first novel I’ve read from Michelle Lynn, and I’m sad to say I didn’t enjoy it. I didn’t realise this was going to be a college/young adult romance when I read the synopsis, and for me, college romances can be really hit and miss. I did finish the story, but I struggled to get into it for a few reasons. I often found the behaviour of the characters to be a bit childish and petty; there was a lot of drama, a lot of pushing and pulling, catfights over boys, bitchiness between teammates, and games played by Crosby and Ella to make the other jealous. Sometimes I couldn’t make sense of the conversations and sometimes I felt the conversations were choppy. The details about “that night” aren’t explained until the 44% mark, but up until then it felt like it was alluded to in every second thought Crosby and Ella had, and that became annoying pretty fast. Finally, I was quite disturbed by the scene where the baseball team uses a cutout of a naked woman, throwing balls at her breasts and vagina to settle bets. I could be wrong, but I just can’t see a coach or team getting away with that kind of thing in this day and age.

ROUNDING THIRD is told in dual POVs and appears to be a stand-alone, although I do feel that the story was left open for some of Crosby’s teammates to get their own stories. The story is a second-chance romance that finished with forgiveness and a HEA for Crosby and Ella.

I know I'm in the minority but I really didn't like this book! Nothing wrong with the writing or editing, I just plain didn't like it! The main characters were involved in a traumatizing event before they started college. 2 years later finds them all engaging in self-destructive behavior and acting incredibly immature. I kept asking myself, why aren't these kids in counseling? Why did their parents let them go off to college alone after what happened to them? Why aren't their teachers or coaches stepping in after witnessing their actions? The whole plot seemed unrealistic and exaggerated and felt like it dragged on forever.

Second chance romance/high school sweethearts. Ella and Crosby were hs sweethearts until a devastating accident forced them to go their separate ways. 2 years later they are together again at the same college. This started off pretty good for me but then went down hill and I just wasn’t feeling it. The ending just dropped off and no epilogue.

I got my hands on the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review and I really enjoyed it :) it was my first book written by this author, and I have to say that I adored her writing style :) I will definitely check out some of her other work... not to mention that I am absolutely looking forward to future books in this series, because this was a fantastic start and left me very curious about certain people ;) by any means this book wasn't perfect, I had some small issues with it, but I definitely enjoyed it and can recommend it to you wholeheartedly :) now let me get into some more details about all my thoughts :)

I'm gonna start with our main couple :) Ella and Crosby were together in high school, until one very tragic event prompt them to break up... I'm not gonna go into details about that whole situation, because those are unveiled throughout the story, with a series of flashbacks... but now, after two years apart, they meet again, when Crosby gets chosen to play baseball, and gets a scholarship, to the university where Ella has been for the past two years... they both tried to make peace with what happened on their own, but not everything went the way they hoped... they were high school sweethearts, and that love is still definitely there... so their story is one of... well, not exactly a second chance romance, but more of finding their way back to one another... :) since they are both in college and this is a new adult story, I was prepared for some angst... ;) usually I'm not a fan, but it wasn't very annoying in this book ;) I actually really understood why they acted the way they did, even though I didn't agree with some of their actions or words... besides, I actually really loved them throughout most of the book and that's always a plus ;) did they make mistakes along the way? absolutely, but it was those kind of mistakes that made them more human in my eyes :) I was definitely cheering them on, so they would finally realize that they are better together than apart :) I can't really tell you more about them, because I honestly think that the less you actually know before starting this book, the better it will turn out for you ;) in this case the less is definitely more ;) so no spoilers from me ;)

Besides our main couple, the author definitely does a great job of getting people curious about future installments... because I am definitely looking forward to Brax's story... ;) it's suppose to be book #2 and even though I have no idea when it will be published, I soooo want to read it... ;) and he was just one of many interesting characters :) Brax actually knew both Ella and Crosby earlier, cause he went to high school with them, and from little things we got to know about him in this book... *sighs* I am more than glad that he will get the next story :) there were quite a few more of Crosby's teammates, because Brax is the team captain, introduced in this book, but they all sort of faded in my mind, because I was so concentrated on Brax ;) #NoRegrets ;) then there's definitely Jen, Ella's roommate :) I really liked her and secretly... well, maybe not so secretly since I'm sharing it with you ;) I am hoping she will be the heroine in one of the future books ;) there was of course a bunch of other very interesting people along the way, like Ariel, Ella's younger sister, or Spence, Crosby's younger brother, but again, I don't want to spoil you every little detail before you even start the book :) what I can say is that all of them added some interesting layers to the story, not all of them in a good way, but none of them were boring or not important :)

I really liked this book... it didn't blew my away by any means, but I didn't have some spectacular problems with it either :) don't get me wrong, I absolutely enjoyed it :) solid 4 stars is not a bad review after all ;) and like I mentioned before, it definitely got me curious about the future books in this series :) the book is written it 2 POVs, and that's always a plus for me :) I like to skip between chapters from both of the main characters persepctives :) and that writing style was so entertaining and interesting, that I will absolutely check out other books written by the lovely Michelle Lynn at some point in the future :) it was an emotional story of two people reconnecting, and trying to find their way back to one another, dealing at the same time with a tragic event that forever changed both of them... so if you are looking for a story with some angst, but a whole lot of emotions... with interesting characters and writing style that will make time just fly by when you read, then definitely give this book a try :) I really enjoyed it and cannot wait for future installments ;)

XOXO

Review:
This book was not what I thought it was going to be. I just thought it would be a second chance at love after messing up, it wasn’t. It was better than that. These two have known each other for fifteen years. I knew the backstory would be a little rough, just not as bad is it was. My heart went out to Crosby. It broke my heart a little how people treated him. He never faltered when it came to Ella. Not once. She was his everything. Crosby was arrogant and pompous about baseball, but that was ok because it was true. He had confidence.

Ella was Ella. She is one of those girls that displays everything. She tried to fight it, she just didn’t know how hard it would be. They were both dealing with what happened. When you have an entire town against you it’s hard to put it behind you. So that’s when Crosby’s family is done and they move, leaving Ella’s heart shattered. Ella has never really gotten over Crosby. They know each other better than they know themselves, and everyone around them can see it.

This book was told in the present with thoughts of the past. It will break your heart, make you smile, and feel so much love. Again I state I adored how Crosby was with Ella. With his teammate always giving him grief, as well as diamond bunnies, he never falters. There was one time that I thought please don’t do it. You will just regret it.

There is a lot going on in this book and I simply could not put it down. I was not happy that it ended. I could have read more and that would have been perfect.

When you’re young, you feel like you have the whole world at your fingertips. Nothing will stop you from chasing your dreams. The last thing you think is that one night everything you thought you had could be a distant memory.

That’s what happened to Crosby, an accident ripped apart his dreams and his life turned into a nightmare. He lost two friends, drove away all his other friends, and let the girl he loved get away.

But two years have past and now he’s ready to let the past go and reach for his dream. Having her by his side is the only thing that he’s ever dreamt about other than baseball. Now he’s in a position to make it all come to true, as long as he can let the past go.

Ella was surprised to come face to face with her first, and only, love. She thought she had put the past in her rearview mirror, but seeing Crosby has brought all those old feelings back up. Can she trust her heart to Crosby again?

The past may not always be pretty, but as long as you don’t let it get you down, you can still have the future you always wanted.

I really loved this book more than I expected. I adore how Crosby sets his mind to something and doesn’t let anything stand in his way. His inner demons still haunt him, but watching him finally opening up is endearing. The love is pure and everlasting. The connection that’s between Ella and Crosby is stronger now after years of being apart.

I love Ella’s quick wit, sweet smile, and loving heart. She’s everything Crosby needed to help heal his broken soul. I think she’s stronger than she ever thought possible. With her charming personality, you really can’t help but love her.

The cast of friends are priceless. Always there to lend a hand, a shoulder to cry on, and pep talk when needed. And I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for story about never giving up hope and reaching for new beginnings.

Authors write what comes out of their creative minds in order to keep us entertained for hours on out. What I like in certain books doesn't mean that the next reader will share my view and vice versa. It saddens me to say that this is a 3 star story.

I took this book to review because I had read some of Michelle Ryan's books before, but unfortunately I don't always relate to all the books I get to read. The idea, the storyline and plot looked promising. I had a difficult time connecting with the different characters. This is a second chance college/sports romance. Most of these characters are in their late teens. There are quite a few decades separating these characters and I. There was so much drama and angst that I just couldn't seem to keep up. There were quite a few of them that I constantly forgot who was who and doing what. I would often find myself rolling my eyes. For a young adult this would be the perfect story.

There are some qualities to this story, and because reading is subjective, the other readers might take a shot on this book and fully enjoy it. The other readers might make it work for them where it didn't for me.

This story is told in a dual POV with an HEA. Authors work hard to gives us hours of entertainment, so I would never be unkind to the author I'm doing a review for. That being said , I still will give this author another try. She has plenty of other books that I could easily enjoy and would recommend.

Tragedy strikes and makes it hard to move on. When you are or think you are the cause of said tragedy healing and moving on takes time. You fight with yourself, family, friends, and even their family. Many feelings are misplaced which causes hatred, guilt, and sadness. All anyone can do is learn to cope and move one for the better of themselves as well as everyone around them.

This is what Crosby and Ella experienced. One night that was yhe best night of their lives turned into a nightmare. Grief, hurt, self-doubt, and so many other emotioms played out to separate a love that was destined from the beginning. Some things can't change and you have to move forward and tackle all things in your way. They first let others decide a future for them but after growing apart they had the chance to show and prove that standing together has better chances. Standing up and not being quiet has better results. It is all in actions because sometimes words do not come out right.

This was a true fairytale that ended to soon. I want more of Cros and El. It just was not finished but I guess Michelle will give me more in books to come. I loved it and my heart hurt for everyone involved especially, Cros because his demons were deeper.

Rounding Third was a combination of two of my favourite types of romance novels. Second chance romance books are always something I enjoy reading and Rounding Third also had the added bonus of being a sport romance as well. However the book was so much more the just being a second chance novel or sport romance story. The story looked at the way that someone’s life can change and the effects that this change can have on someone. One night of tragedy saw the lives of both main characters Ella and Crosby change. My heart broke for Crosby so many times throughout the book with the pain that he carried around everyday and the treatment that he received from people.

You couldn’t help but fall in love with Crosby and smile at the way that he loved Ella. I enjoyed the way that this book was more then just a second chance love story. I enjoyed the story that was told and had all the feelings within it.

They were both high school sweethearts so in love..Tragic events force him and his family out of town and he and Ella decide to go their separate ways. Once we get the whole story, my heart broke for him. He was dealing with so much guilt. Now he's back years later to get his girl back. Does he succeed?

There were times Ella made me mad, but I understood why she was acting that way. Crosby? He knew what he wanted, and that was her. We are introduced to various characters and I can tell this is going to be the beginning of an amazing series. Can Crosby and Ella get over what happened years ago? An emotional story about second chances, redemption , friendship and love. Well written and highly recommended. Can't wait for Brax next!!

A small town hero’s fall from grace... and the slow road to redemption.

Crosby was the baseball legend everyone adored — until one night changed everything.
Scholarship lost. Dreams shattered. The girl he left behind. ⚾️💔

Now, he’s back, but can he face his past? And can Ella forgive him — or even want him back?

This story hit all the feels with:
✔️ Raw emotional depth
✔️ Slow-burn, second-chance romance
✔️ Small town charm and personal growth
✔️ Heartbreak and hope intertwined perfectly

🎧 Audiobook thoughts: The narration really brought Crosby’s internal struggle and Ella’s strength to life. The tension, the regret, the hope — it all felt so genuine.

If you love:
🔹 Second chance romance
🔹 Sports romance with emotional grit
🔹 Small town settings with real heart
This is a must-listen.

Oh Crosby, It was so hard not to love Crosby. He is handsome, third base baseball stud (not your typical jock), and very loving. Ella and Crosby were high school sweethearts until tragedy hit and Crosby had to move away from Beltline and to Colorado, states away! He knew he would get her back one day!! <3 The love her had for her!!! Such a great book boyfriend ladies!

I love how Ella and her sister are named after princesses! 28 years old and I still love princesses.

This book was very well written. This book had all the feelings.

I can not wait for Braxton's book! I also want skittles right now!

This was a pretty good read. I really liked Crosby. Ella drove me a little crazy though. A bit too wishy-washy for me. The tragic accident gave the story a sad feel.

No epilogue, so looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book. I saw that it's Brax, which makes me very happy!

I adored this book!

This was my first Michelle Lynn book and I am super excited I read this one first!

I dove into this one head first after reading a synopsis that grabbed me straight away!

Crosby and Ella were like these two star crossed lovers who were so much better together but had been apart for the last two years!

This was a sports romance in every shape and form BUT it was so much more than just that!

There was such a sadness to this book...with both Crosby and Ella sharing a past tragedy that affected them both in infinite and heart breaking ways.

Those different ways being the main reason why they weren't together....both dealing with the pain and past in different ways...like two parallel lines running alongside each other but never meeting!

This book, for me, screamed second change romance, with a different tone...often it's hard to imagine a second chance romance between two young adults in the prime of their life, but Michelle Lynn did it to perfection in this book!

Crosby and Ella were a definite force to be reckoned with and I loved the way they stuck together once they reconnected!

Stand out for me in this one was without doubt Crosby and the way he loved his girl! No one else in his eyes could replace her and he didn't even want to try!

Crosby stole a piece of my heart in this one and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a good sports romance, anyone who is down for an amazing second chance love and well...anyone who love an entertaining story that will tug at your hearts strings while making you smile at the same time.
