When John and Sanjay and the rest of their champion ice-hockey team show up at the frozen pond where they always play, they're startled to find another group of guys already on the ice. The challenge is on: Winning team gets pond rights. But the other team's not laying fair. It's as if they need to win--or else. Their eyes glitter, their skin feels icy to the touch. Where did these guys come from?
Two games later, John and his teammates are exhausted and even more determined to win. Then the other team's goalie whispers fiercely to John, "Next game, no survivors." The clock ticks. Only seconds remain in the game. Then the ice cracks open. . .

I was wrong! Frank told this story which was surprising but he definitely was a good fit for the storyteller. Another sport story but it wasn’t as overwhelming as the last one. This one dealt with hockey.
It was definitely reminiscent of an OG AYAOTD? story. Basically, kids have to fight for their turf against these crazy, scary, smelly kids. Come to find out they’re dead! Shocker! The lame thing was that they never won a game back when they were alive in 1949 and were super sore losers. They told them to throw the game and were super threatening!
The moral of the story: Life is not about winning.
