What's That Awful Smell?
Dog, Duck, Sheep, and the other animals are desperate to find the source of an awful smell in the barn. Finally they decide that the terrible stink is coming from a new baby piglet. The animals do everything they can to rid the pig of his odor. They cover him in hay, wash him in mud, decorate him with flowers, and rub strawberries all over him. But nothing seems to work. Maybe the smell isn’t coming from Piglet after all...
Warm, cheerful illustrations and a funny surprise ending make this another perfect read-aloud from the team that created Storm Is Coming!

What's cuter than animals covering their noses to avoid a nasty smell in the barn? Nothing. The answer is nothing people.

I thought this book was simple at first, but then, there was a twist at the end, which I found funny. I think children would greatly appreciate this twist and find it just as humorous as I did. I would definitely recommend this book for a classroom.
*A group of farm animals is trying to figure out what smells so awful on the farm. After a day of searching, the animals figure out it was a tuna sandwich that the cat had left in the barn from two months ago. I really liked how silly and humorous this book was, and I think that children will greatly appreciate this book.

I used this in a preschool story time about the five senses. There's a bad smell in the barn and all the animals are blaming a baby pig. But, despite all the other farm animals' best attempts to make the piglet smell nice, the smell remains. The reason for the smell is sort of cute and my preschoolers and their adults all chuckled a bit.

Another cute picture book. The animals can't figure out what the smell in the barn is. They think it's the new pig that's come to live with them but instead it's an unlikely character who lives in the barn -- the cat and it's horribly smelly fish sandwich.

Aa very cute little read allowed picture book. A twist at the end that children will most likely not see coming. I love the way the animals dialogue is portayed. It makes them sound like the animals they are supposed to be and practically tells the reader exactly how to read them.

Cute book about not jumping to conclusions about what might be the cause of a smell.

A dog is going about his normal day on the farm when he chances to go into the barn and his sense of smell is assaulted by something truly awful. After a little investigation he determines it is the new piglet that is the offender. With the help of other farm animals, he attempts to rid the barn of the foul stench. Nothing works however and the animals resign themselves to just being outside. When the cat walks by, she leads them to the true source of the smell. [SPOILER: Not the piglet.] Moral of the story, it's always the cat's fault, leave the poor pig alone.
Cute illustrations.
