"When you rise in the morning, nearly half of your day will be determined by the patterns you’ve either intentionally created or passively allowed. There’s no avoiding it: the patterns we cultivate shape the person we each become."

I cannot stress enough the importance of developing habits that allow God to shape us into becoming more like Jesus. This LifeHacks Bible will be especially helpful for those looking to develop spiritual habits to grow in their relationship with God. I would give this 5 stars. I was pleasantly surprised when I read through the articles found in this Bible. This bible contains the most exhaustive compilation of spiritual practices, disciplines and habits I have seen. As a pastor who has read dozens of books on this subject, the material contained in this new LifeHacks Bible would fill several books with applicable information to be put into practice. It contains over 1,000 tips and suggestions designed to help the reader become more like Jesus. This covers over 30 different spiritual habits and eight different categories of spiritual formation. Each entry ends with practical suggestions for how to apply these habits to your life.

Carter has done well to place the articles on spiritual habits throughout this version of the Bible. The original text is kept in tact for those wondering but the articles are inserted at key points throughout the Bible. It appears to me that alot of intentionality was put into placing the articles in the spots where they are located. Also I really appreciate how Carter has placed articles that help the reader see Jesus throughout the entire Bible including articles such as "Seeing Jesus in Proverbs". We often forget the entire Bible is about Jesus (Lk 24:27) so seeing articles that point us back to Him during our reading is helpful in applying the whole Bible to our spiritual life.

All articles are sorted easily with an alphabetical reference list of them at the front of the Bible and a topical reference list of them toward the back. Plus the articles even tell you which page number to turn to if wanting to jump to the next one.

The New International Version (NIV) is one of the most commonly used translations of the Bible. The NIV Lifehacks Bible combines a complete copy of the NIV Bible with 365 tips and skills to help you grow in your Christian walk.

The articles cover a variety of topics, such as Bible memorization, prayer, and worship, as well as “how to’s” on topics like journaling, redeeming time, and finding rest. Most of the articles are less than a page in length, so they are quick to read. Each concludes with a “practical takeaway” to think about as you go through your day.

For newer believers, the tips in the NIV Lifehacks Bible may truly help develop lifelong habits of spiritual growth. However, if the articles are read in place of the Bible itself, or if they are taken as a list of things believers have to do, then they may be more detrimental than helpful.

We cannot add to the Bible. If the articles are read as one man’s suggestions for personal growth and understanding, then the NIV Lifehacks Bible could be a great tool, especially for those newer to the Christian faith. There is a great need for discipleship among new believers, and theses articles may help to meet that need, at least in part.

Here is my one 5 star read this year. Often when we are reading through the Bible each year, my husband will say "Why do you struggle to pronounce all those hard to pronounce names?" The Life Hacks Bible gave reasons for doing it so I read them to him.
1-They are meant to be read- God wants us to read them
2-They show the Bible is both history and biography
3-They show the importance of individuals and family
4-They show how God keeps his promises in surprising ways
5-They trace the storyline of Jesus.
This is just one of the Hacks and there are hundreds- Developing Wisdom, Fasting, Gratitude, Journaling, Pray with ACTS, Praying the News, what it means to have faith in Jesus, Christian giving and many more. Great read. Don't miss it.

If you're looking for a Bible that will help you to look more like Jesus, think more like Jesus, and act more like Jesus with each and every passing day, the NIV Lifehacks Bible – Practical Tools For Successful Spiritual Habits is an essential resource for your spiritual growth!

The NIV Lifehacks Bible may not be the fanciest Bible I’ve seen, but the feature that distinguishes the NIV Lifehacks Bible from all others on the market – a year’s worth of articles filled with the advice, tips, tools and lifehacks you need to develop habits that will transform you spiritually from the inside out – is something you simply can’t afford to be without.

The 365 articles that span 30 spiritual disciplines are highly informative, relevant and applicable to one’s spiritual life.

Sometimes, even the most well-meaning of us find it difficult to get into God’s Word every day, even though we resolve to do so at the beginning of the year.

The NIV Lifehacks Bible gives those of us who truly want to deepen our walk with God 365 reasons to do so!

I found the articles (or "lifehacks" - maybe not the most accurate term here) helpful as daily prompts for further reflection and introspection. As Joe Carter mentions in the introduction, no one should expect to be blown away by all ~1,000 articles through this version.

It feels weird to give 3 stars to a Bible; two personal gripes are what influenced my rating. First, it uses the 2011 NIV translation. There's plenty of criticism already published about this so I'll leave that alone, but I wanted to read it for myself to see how it affected readability, especially well-known passages. I found it distracting and in a few places very odd. Second, I'm not sure it's a good idea to have articles that jump so quickly to application vs. letting the reader linger and ruminate on scripture. Some of them were very good at guiding the reader through relevant prompts, such as the self-assessments; but I felt others stepped over a line of interpreting doctrine, such as the article on Sabbath-keeping (see Exodus 31).

I suppose I approached this version as a study Bible, but I don't think that's an accurate description. The articles might be better served in a separate volume, as a devotion or supplement to the scripture. That way, the reader might be more inclined to view them as a non-authoritative parallel perspective rather than as additional context (historical, cultural, political, etc.) that one would expect from a 'typical' study Bible.

The word of God is still present and true, and if reading this version helps a traveler to spend time in the word, I certainly can't knock it for that.

Good Bible Study Tool

This book is a great Bible Study tool. I got it because it was a " lifehack" book. I thought maybe I would get a few little tips for more effective Bible study. Little did I know it would help transform the way I study and learn God's Word. It's definitely one of my new favorite things.

Life hacks are great, but unfortunately it uses a corrupt Bible version. Use the Kindle version for the lifehacks, and the KJV for your Bible.

Habits.

The development of bad habits can lead to undesirable outcomes. These habits can be hard to break and can be mimicked by others.

The development of good habits can lead to amazing outcomes. These habits will take effort and determination to exercise.

The NIV Lifehacks Bible has practical tools to help the readers of this Bible development habits, successful habits, in their spiritual lives. Some of these habits are physical in nature such as why sleep is so important. Some are related to watching the words you say. This Bible does well to show the relationship between the spiritual life and how it should affect all other areas of a person's life.
