Sabrina's guide is out of this world...

Hi I'm Sarina. If you already know me, then you know that I'm half-mortal, half-witch. Well, this week I was given a huge homework assignment at school. Turns out I have to write a science paper about the universe, which means plenty of research.

Now, most kids in my place might head straight to the library, but that's what's so great about being a witch -- I decided to visit the universe and gather the information myself Using my magic and help from ohter witches along the way], my cat Salem and I traveled through outer space, and now we want to share our discoveries with you

You, too, can explore the solar system, fly by the new International Space Station, visit all types of amazing stars, and pop up on extrasolar planets and galaxies. My Aunts Hilda and Zelda will also be around -- along with some famous scientists, like Albert Einstien -- to make sure that we don't miss any important details. I even include fun science projects and experiments for you to try on your own If we can just get Salem to keep his catty remarks to himself, we're sure to learn a lot -- and have a great time, too

First I must appologize to my family for being the kid who always asked "Why?" But that one word asked many times led me to science and writing--especially in the physical sciences. And all of that led me to have quite an wide range of other writing topics--from weather in Antarctica to the many facets of Forensic Science. Yes, I've always been "the geek next door"... and with more than three dozen books to my credit (mostly on science), no one questions my geekiness anymore!

The latest book is from Visible Ink Press--The Handy Forensic Science Answer Book. Thomas Svarney is my co-author, and is one heck of a researcher. (He also has a science background, so we can discuss the mechanics of the climate without scratching our heads in puzzlement...Well, within reason!) The book was interesting to put together and we learned a great deal about forensics. It was especially fun since the subject includes so many different sciences.
