I'm D. Camille and I am an avid reader and author. I started reading romance books when I was thirteen and since then I've read hundreds. I wanted to write a series that contained the culture and history of the African and African American people.

I like to utilize historical information, science and ancient beliefs. I write for people to enjoy, think, analyze and learn; not only about the characters but hopefully also about themselves. I love to hear from my readers. Write me and tell me about your favorite characters and what you love about them. Me, I love all of them...they came from my heart.

Ase! (so let it be)

I love D. Camille’s writing style...she not only gets you CAUGHT UP in sizzling romance and suspense...but I feel like she gives me a lesson in our African American heritage and broadens my cultural awareness...Lance and Khayla’s journey to love spans over 10 plus years...they started off as friends...which is ALWAYS good IMHO...and they had a brief secret affair...however Lance screwed that up...and now that they’re a little older wiser...and Lance has his $hit together...he wants a second chance...will Khayla give him one...will he get it right this time if she does...thoroughly ENJOYED this couple’s AMAZING sexy fun romantic tale...looking forward to the next book!

After reading the first book in the series I quickly one clicked this one. I really enjoyed Lance and Khayla story. These books are not your ordinary romance but for African Americans, they run deeper than that. After reading each book I felt empowered to do more for my community and for the love in my life.

The Wants What The Heart Wants

It took a while for Lance to capture his love but he was determined. He knew Khayla was his Queen. She had his heart from the day he winked at her as a young boy. Now the King has his Queen and will continue to love her unconditionally.

Great Read...Lance Johnson and Khayla(aka Katydids) finally have their story told. These two have a love for each other that most of those around them know, even they are avoiding it.They began their story in elementary school but only pushed the envelope once. Lance decided to back off and became a fierce lover to women in the big D.
Their story is almost over when someone shot Lance in the back, However, he and the Negus are a match in a lot of ways. We are reunited with many of the characters from the Lion and a few from the Black series. Khayla proves that she and her sisters are just as sharp and protective as the men of the Negus are. Kyros is a star in this book for me.
Great read with some twists and turns but a great ending....

Fantastic!

Lance and Khayla....Wowzers!!! This is an awesome addition to the series...I cannot say enough how much I love how this author depicts black love and black pride in her books.

The family dynamic s what I'm used to growing up where it takes a village to raise a child. Even though Lance had to be the man of the house in his household when he was a kid, he was surrounded by supportive adults who made sure he was able to be a kid. The Negus never let him down.

Khayla fell in love with the bad kid but she adored the king he became even more. Love these two and you will too!

Can't wait for what's coming next!!

Loved this book. The chemistry between Lance and Kayla was off the charts HOT! I love how this author makes the women in her books strong and don't take any s%&t. They also, protect their men just as vigorously as the men protect them. I loved the crossover of the characters from the other series. I wish Sage had a bigger role. Love Jordan and Sage and the entire gang. Most of all I love the way my hometown of Detroit was portrayed. It showed the struggles the city has, but also the passion good people still have for the city. The author didn't just expose the city's problems, but offered up realistic solutions. D Camille must have ties to Detroit, because I could feel the love. Well done!

Lance, oh my!

Once again, D. Camille is on my list of top authors. Loved this book. So g l ad that Khayla and Lance found their way back to each other. Khayla was smart, strong and sexy, along with Lance who was also sexy as hell, strong and a soldier. Can't wait for the next book in this series. If you haven't read any of Ms. Camille's books, I suggest you do. OMG, not only does she touch on the many issues in the Black society, she shows you how Queens are supposed to be loved and treated! Like all of her books that I've read so far, great book.

Good Story

I love to read good, positive stories about black love that aren't filled with a lot of unnecessary drama. I also like how Lance became successful. He didn't finish school, but he hustled to get where he was and he did it all legally. I look forward to the next story in this series and Ms Camille's other series.
