Rate this book

Katrin Zita has a great writing style. If you read her book, you’ll get the desire to start your next (or first) solo journey immediately.

However, her book is rather inspiring than informing.
She’ll blast away all your concerns and encourages you to go on -your- journey.

But there is only a hand full of tips for the journey itself. Here are the tips that I enjoyed most:
- Being alone means you have a great buddy at your side: yourself
- Write meditation: Write down whatever comes to your mind in order to free up your brain
- Dining out alone: I always thought I would have to sit alone and „only“ watch the others if I dine out. There would be no way I’d use my cell phone or a journal if I was with another person. But she does not at all restrict you to do so. It is still a date with yourself. But you could e.g. talk more with the waiter (get recommendations, provide feedback), plan your next day, recap on what happened today, write in your travel journal or read a book in case you still feel awkward
- Self-awareness: If you travel alone, you’ll give off a completely different impression of yourself. Enjoy getting to know you better.
- Relationship: Give freedom and claim freedom for solo travels. Don’t feel bad. You’ll have so much to talk about after you’re back. (And personally, I love the feeling of missing my partner. It ensures me that I have a place that I love returning to)
- Biorhythm: Figure out your own biorhythm e.g. by switching off your alarm on your trips
- Routine: Keep your routines on your travels so you feel home at your hotels. E.g. special scents, same comfy clothes or the way you arrange your bathroom equipment
- Enjoy yourself :)

She also mentioned „traveling alone in a car“ provides freedom, but it is not environmentally friendly. At the same time, she mentioned plenty of airplane flights and tips for airplanes. Without any word about the ridiculous pollution it causes.

In general, I liked Katrin Zita’s book and I consider reading the next volume as well. The book was a bit too long for the small amount of information.

Nevertheless, I took a few tips with me, but most of all, I loved the inspiration and encouragement

This book is really motivating me for travelling alone and celebrate it. Liked it including the semiprof therapie going on with travelling reports.
