It is very hard to find Macedonian authors who write chick-lit and I must say I've found myself pleasantly surprised. Jana Misho is a young author and I am delighted to see how well she writes. And she writes about Paris!
Her character is Anais, a young woman who comes to Paris to live with her father and to discover herself. There is a friend from her childhood, a future wife-to-be to her father, an annoying mother and an accidental roommate. And, there is a cat, of course. All those characters with Anais in the middle make a witty family. There are many laugh-out-loud moments and Anais is true heroine that comes out as a winner of every silly situation. Well, most of it.
I love Anais' rebel nature, her sometimes funny points of view, her charming and sometimes annoying mouth-before-brain attitude. I love the things she sees in Paris, not the tourist attractions, but the little small things that give a charm to a place. I also love her personal space in her father's home.
I don't know Jana personally and have no idea if Anais is a little bit Jana or maybe more, but, I definitely loved the book. It is funny, interesting and it is so easy to connect with the characters. I would love to read more of this author in future. If you are in the search for something fresh and easy to read, look no further! Anais From Montmartre is a perfect read for you!
