A kinky bastard seduces a good girl…and gets in over his head
Joe has always liked his sex dirty, but the messier his life gets, the more he craves someone sweet to balance out his darkness. He sets his sights on wholesome Kelly. Unlike any other woman he’s dated, she says crazy things like “please” and “sorry,” and she asks about his day like she cares.
Just when he starts to believe he could tone down his bedroom habits enough to have a relationship with her, she pulls the “friends with benefits” card. He’s good enough to sleep with but not good enough to be her boyfriend. No stranger to casual sex, he should be comfortable with the arrangement, but he can’t help wanting more with his sunshine girl.
Mira dreams of a life where hairy-chested, foul-mouthed pool men serve cocktails while she reads in the embrace of a shady hammock. Her reality looks more like errands, carpooling, sneaking in writing time when she can, and snuggling with her husband and kids after a regular-old day in the Pacific Northwest.
Sex is sacred. It’s also fun. That’s why Mira writes smut with feeling. In her perfect world, every woman who wants it would have access to entertaining, titillating, thought-provoking stories in an environment free of shame.
Some gals like new shoes as a reward for a job well done. Mira prefers reviews and comments from readers. As long as they have arch support.
The first in a 10 part serial that follows Joe and Kelly through the ups and downs of their relationship.
I enjoyed this one for the most part. It's super short (65 pages on my tablet) The writing is really very good and I was hooked from the beginning. Joe is a super hot tatted bald guy and Kelly is a preacher's daughter looking to gain some experience in sex before she settles down with an acceptable partner. I could have done without the ad nauseam mentions of what a whore Joe is, especially since Kelly is a virgin. That aside I liked it enough to continue on to book two.
Well, this was a very schmexy little read for me! Joe is a construction worker who enjoys the good things in life - having hot sex with beautiful women. Needless to say, he knows his way around the female anatomy and prides himself on his ability to produce pleasure from them. However, recently a young woman has caught his eye, she is not the type he would normally go for but something about her intrigues him.
Kelly is someone you would call 'innocent.' She has had a religious upbringing and her cherry has definitely not been popped. She likes to play it safe and not take too many risks in life. However, when she is thrown into a life threatening situation, Joe is the man who comes to her rescue. There is something about having your life flash before your eyes that makes you realise just how quickly everything can change.
Kelly wants to make a change in her life and she has Joe set in her sights as the man to fulfill her fantasies. This is a bit of a table turner for Joe, he is used to calling the shots so when Kelly proposes a mutually beneficial arrangement with him he is keen as a pig in shit.
This was a very hot, sexy read. Joe has a very dirty mouth and his inner dialogue is even dirtier. I can't wait to see where he takes Kelly, no doubt it will be to unparalleled heights of pleasure :-)
I got lucky enough to snag an ARC of Good Girl by Mira Stanley, and I'm so glad it found its way to the top of my TBR pile.
While Mira may be a new author, she's clearly no stranger to erotic romance. Kelly and Joe's physical interactions are fantastically steamy, but she also manages to capture the satisfyingly tender and and often tentative emotional connection between the two.
I'm typically not a fan of serials because I'm greedy, and I like to read the whole story at once. However, Ms. Stanley's got me hooked, and I cannot wait for the next installment!
If you enjoy tattooed bad boys with a side of kink, go get your copy as soon as it releases! (6/27/16)
I really enjoyed this story. Joe is just a regular guy. He's not model handsome. He's not a billionaire or an athlete. He's a bald-headed, tatted construction worker who's kinky and has a fascination with innocent Kelly. I'm not a fan of serials and finding out that this one consists of 10 installments is kind of a turn off. Good Girl is currently free so buy it before that changes. I already bought the second book, Irresistible Jerk, but I don't know if I'm willing to invest that much money. Book 2 is $2.99. If every book thereafter is the same price...that's a $30 book. Ummmm no. Why do authors do this? It's not fair to the reader. I'm willing to pay for a good book but this is ridiculous! So as much as I enjoyed Joe and Kelly, I may wait and hope that the author will eventually release the 10 novellas as a full-length novel.
Other than that, Good Girl was sexy and super hot.
Not sure what I was expecting when I picked up this book, but it was different. The entire novella was told from the man's standpoint. I'm used to books with a third party POV or alternating POV or the woman's POV.
Joe's a construction worker by trade and not necessarily a nice guy when it comes to the women in his life. He's a love'em once and leave'em kinda guy. That all seems to change when he sees this woman walking her dog past his construction site. Knowing that she's sweet and innocent is normally a turn off for Joe, there is something sweet that calls to him.
When tragedy allows them to meet, Joe knows he should stay away, but he can't help to try to get closer.
The only thing wrong with this book is that it was too short!
Told from the point of view of tattooed construction worker, Joe, Good Girl is a strong start to an opposites attract story. He's salty language and kinky sex. She's fashionably conservative and too innocent to be with anyone like him, but he can't get her out of his head.
The story is fast-paced. The sex scenes will set your panties on fire. The first-person pov is both fun and sexy as we really get to enjoy Joe's salty personality. Seriously looking forward to the next installment.

Good Girl by Mira Stanley is book one in the Dirty Minds Series that I listened to on audio narrated by Sean Crisden. This is the first book of Mira’s that I have listened to and it definitely won’t be my last. It’s a short novella that leaves you wanting more. I can’t wait to dive into book two Irresistible Jerk.
Sean did an amazing job narrating. I loved his deep growly voice which was perfect for Joe’s character.
The only thing wrong with this book is that it was too short!

Joe and Kelly are HOT and STEAMY together. That Joe enjoys sex is an understatement. In fact he actually likes things a little unconventional. Kelly on the other hand is prim and proper. To say that opposites attract…well they do. For the right person or the one that is different you just might give up your old ways.
Ms. Stanley gave us characters that were easy to relate to because they were normal. They were written with flaws and that adds character to them. Joe a construction worker with tattoos…Kelly a preacher daughter who wanted more. Because they were real it made them that much more interesting adding that bit of depth to this story.
I found that this was such a well written and entertaining story that I wanted more. I wished it would have been a bit longer.
A quick note…even though this is a short story it probably isn’t good for lunch time. You might have some explaining to do after reading it.
Wowza. This was a hot little story all told from Joe's perspective, which was perfect.
Joe is a construction worker who has a crush on a girl he's dubbed as 'Sunshine' that walks her dog to the park on the daily. When there's a shooting one day, he runs to her rescue and finally has the chance to talk to her.
As short as it was, this was super fun and had a lot of emotion. I loved being in Joe's head, seeing the situation from his side and hearing his fears and wants.
Lucky enough to receive an audio version, I have to say, this was my first narrated by Sean Crisden and I'm hooked. His sultry, deep voice gave Joe so much depth and vulnerability that I don't think I would have gotten from simply reading the story. It was smooth and raw and super hot. And now I've got a bunch of Sean Crisden books to listen to!
Surprise! That is what Joe found when he finally met Kelly. Joe is a construction worker who has lusted after Kelly when she walks by. When circumstances finally let them meet, Kelly not only shocks him, but is a fantasy come to life. This is my first Mira Stanley book, and what a way to start! It's short, but well developed, kept my interest and was oh, so fun! I love this kind of beginning, told from the male perspective, and a female who does nothing but shock him. It's fun, flirty, sexy and leaves you wanting more! Can't wait til their next segment!
Sean Crisden is perfect for this role. His voice is sultry and hot, and he can pull off that blue collar sound. He brings an element of heat that flows through your earbuds. I love his narrations and a better choice for this story could not have been picked.
I received a copy of this from BookSends ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I have no qualms with erotica and I am all about a good romance. That being said, I was a bit disappointed in this novella only because it was more of a teaser than a complete story. I am now irritable because I am going to have to go buy all the rest of the series and wait to find out what happens with Joe and Kelly.
The story is sweet and has great potential, and I adore the fact that it is told from Joe's point of view. That makes it incredibly intriguing that it is all Joe's insights and none of Kelly's. The fact that Joe is a bad boy and kinky, but wants to be more is all the more compelling a read.
Good Girl is the first book in the Dirty minds series. This is the story of Joe, the tattooed construction worker and Kelly the preachers daughter. It was a short steamy read told from Joe's POV. However although short the story was well-developed and held my interest until the end. I listened to the Audible version of this novel which was narrated by Sean Crisden. This was my first novel with him as a narrator and I did enjoy it. He had a deep voice which was perfectly suited to Joe and his timing and delivery really brought the story to life. I cant wait to start the next book in this series. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer
This steamy short was everything I could ask for! It is part 1 in a 4 part series. It does end on a cliffhanger but have no fear, the next 2 books are also available on audio! I loved everything about this book and cannot wait to continue this steamy series!
The narration was great! I believe this was the first time I have listened to Sean Crisden and I really enjoyed it. I loved how seamlessly he went from Joe's voice to Kelly's voice. Even his "old lady" voice was entertaining to listen to!
When Joe finally gets the girl he has been after, he is pleasantly surprised. Never judge a book by its cover, nor judge a person by their looks. Joe finds that out when he and Kelly finally hook up. I loved the twist that kept me guessing. This is a short, fun and very sexy story that I could not wait to jump into the next book.
Sean Crisden narrates this story well. I love his narration of Joe. It is exactly how I envisioned Joe.Sean brought out the fun and flirty parts in the story. He has an easy to listen to voice. Sean's narration kept the story flowing until the end.
Oh my goodness me how have I never heard Sean Crisden narrate before? His growly voice is just, I have no words except I love it! He is perfect for this book...
I love that this book is totally from Joe's point of view. For me it's unusual to listen to something from the male point of view and I loved it. It steamy and hot and goes by far too fast! On to the next one as it just can't be left there...
Books like this truly annoy me. Blatant money grabs. The story was great, the characters were great, and I knew I shouldn’t have started it because it was so short. Really good + really short = series book with a cliffhanger. There are five books in the series. And I really want to find out what happens next. But I don’t want to encourage this kind of behavior. Write one really good stand alone book and to hell with these short serials. Ugh! So mad.
I loved this. The story of Joe and his sunshine starts here in this book. Joe sees her and is attracted to her, but she looks like a good girl and he doesn’t think he has a chance with her.
But she thinks he is attractive as well.
She walks her dog every day past the construction site where he works. Something happens one of those mornings, that shakes him terribly. It draws them together and an agreement is made. Can Joe survive the agreement?
I’m warning you.... if you read this one, you’re going to have to read the rest!
I have to be honest, I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would. I thought there were parts that would make me a little uncomfortable. I was wrong. Very wrong. There's a chance that I have also added a new narrator to my ever-growing list of favorites. The narrator of this book was very great! He made the characters very relatable!
Where the hell are all the Joe's? Mira Stanley knows how to write and she knows her way around erotica. I wasn't sure what to expect with this story but enjoyed the ride tremendously and will definitely pick up the next! The only complaint I have is the length of the stories. I would rather have a full length novel from this author. Mira Stanley you got skills!
Oh boy, this hero has a dirty mouth with a perfect gravelly voice! It's so easy to fall in love with Joe. I loved how she saw him differently than even himself. This audiobook was short and dirty, loved it! Going to book 2 immediately. The narrator rocked it. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer
Sean Crisden made this a fun story to listen to. It was very sexy short story. Joe and Kelly had an instant chemistry. Fun flirty and sexy and hot. 🎧audiobookobsessionreviewer 🎧
Would have rated it higher if not for the ending. For a short story, there is a lot fit into one. I’m interested to see where the next installment goes.
Title: Good Girl Author: Mira Stanley Format: Audio Narrator: Sean Crisden Genre: Romance/Erotica Standalone: Ish Good Girl stops at a stopping point, but the story is not finished Part of a series: Book 1 of an anticipated 10 novellas It looks like the first three book are about this couple POV: Joe Steam Level: Slow burn to hot 4/5
Good Girl is the first novella in an anticipated ten book novella. It looks like first three books is about this couple. Honestly, this is my least favorite way to read a story. Also, you find out more about Kelly in the blurb than in the actual book. That being said, I did like Good Girl. I liked having the exclusive male POV And the kinks Joe thinks about are pretty hot and Good Girl is a tease for what may come in the future (no pun intended).
I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Obsession. This is my honest and voluntary review.
I picked this up for free last year when it was newish, and I didn't realize at the time it was only a novella. Good thing I didn't pay the $2.99 asking price for a mere 75 pages, especially when it ends on a silly cliffhanger without even the slightest hint of story resolution. If your pricing model is to give me a book over ten parts (as the author's note at the end states) then you'd better not be charging me $3 each, stretching one story into a $30 investment. That's predatory pricing.
Which is too bad, in a way, because I do kind of like the foul-mouthed narrator, Joe. This is one of the only romances I've ever read with a male first-person POV, and that part of it was refreshing. As was his strong emphasis on consent.
What I wasn't as crazy about was his constant and total (internal) insistence that Sunshine/Kelly was a "good" girl based on her appearance, clothes, and the semi-random assumptions he made about her. In a full-length novel, this could work as a flaw for Joe that he could learn to move past--but in a quick, half-hour read, there's no time for character development.
Write the whole book and charge me five or six bucks for it, next time, and I'll bite. I want to support independent authors. But I don't want to be deliberately exploited by a cliffhanger serial designed to part me from my money.
