When every woman wants him, how can she believe that he loves her?
Marguerite Chance is an organic farmer in the idyllic town of Hidden Falls, Oregon. She’s as rooted as her heirloom tomatoes, but when food truck owner Alexei Vasilopoulos rolls into town, looking more like Adonis than a real human being, she fights her attraction. No man who looks like Adonis could ever be interested in a plain woman who digs in dirt all day; she’s been burned once before by a man who thought his good looks gave him a permanent hall pass for bad behavior.
Alexei has been propositioned by everyone from modelling scouts to older woman who should know better for most of his life. He didn’t ask for his face, and mostly he’s used to fending off women, but there’s something about Marguerite Chance that appeals to him on every level. Trouble is, she doesn’t want anything to do with him. Alex has so little experience in actually wooing a woman, that he’s not sure how. Good thing he’s got not only his own Greek family giving him advice, but also the large Chance clan.
This is book 5 in the Take a Chance series of romantic comedies, but each book can be read separately. Fall in love along with Marguerite and Alex.

Sweet, clean, organic fun with food Marguerite Chance loves the purity of nature and the organic life she had cultivated for herself. She finds that she has a connection to one sex-on-legs Alexie. He happens to be chef with a food truck and the most amazing Greek food. He also happens to be a Greek god come to life and she has no chance with him. Marguerite makes the same mistake as most. She assumes that Alexie uses his looks to get what he wants. Alexie wants nothing more than to get to know Marguerite Chance. Once they came together things are magical, but not without mishaps.
Teri Schnaubelt did a good job with her narration as with the others. This was a delight listening to her cadence.
This was a sweet quick read, I loved the passion for food and gardening.
The extended family were described so delightfully but I wish we’d seen even more of their interactions and gatherings. I didn’t realise it was book 5, it works as a stand alone but having the context and backstories on the supporting characters would have added to it.
It’s a little friends to lovers with instant love thrown in, these two tropes worked well together. What let it down for me was not actually seeing much about their relationship at all, they seemed to suddenly like each other, sleep together, fall out, make up and get engaged all in the space of a few weeks. I would have much preferred it without the proposal but the description of their relationship and what made them love each other was sweet.
Short and doesn't really show them much at all in a relationship. It was: They slept together, fought, got back together. I would have liked to have read about their relationship. I normally give 3's to books I like that are good and I enjoyed, but I didn't feel this deserved a 2 even with missing time in the relationship that really needa to be there. Book has potential, but think the author should go back and write more about their actual relationship period and span it over a couple of months at least. (I score like how you would on Netflix: 1 hated it, 2 didn't like it, 3 liked it, 4 really liked it, 5 loved it).
The story plot, character development & dialogue we’re fine ... what one would expect of this type of mindless romance. However, the grammar was terrible! I don’t know how an editor could have allowed this to be published. The sentence construction would have received an extremely low score from my high school writing teachers! I can’t count the number of sentences ended with a preposition! It was very distracting! I won’t purchase more from this author.
This was ok, but I wouldn't really recommend. 2 stars.
The main couple was this instagram/pinterest couple, very perfect in both looks and personality. They were set up to be together from the beginning, which didn't really bother me because this was a quick and easy read so I didn't expect too much there.
It was an ok quick read, and if you want something short, lighthearted, full of familytime and romantic (no sex scenes either) then I guess give it a go.
Love is blooming in Hidden Falls, Oregon. Marguerite, the local vegetable farmer, falls for the handsome Alexei, who owns a food truck. I like how easy this book is to read or listen to, i also love the characters. There's a light sex scene and great romance. Nancy Warren has done it again, perfect romance for someone like me. Y'all will this series and this family is huge, they're all falling in love. Each book could be read as a stand alone or out of order.
Once burnt, twice shy. Marguerite is very attracted to handsome Alexei. In addition, they share interests in food and the produce used to create it. Alexei is tired of women who only see his shell and don't care about the person. Can she overcome her trust issues?
Such a fun story. I loved "the curse." Poor handsome boy, as Alexi's mother might say. And Marguerite was great fun once she let down her guard. I drooled over the mouthwatering food. I'd buy that cookbook. Thanks, Nancy Warren, for a delicious romance and a cool family to get to know better.
I enjoyed the characters, the setting and the story but like so many romance books it off and on was a bit too common and the ending predictable. But I still enjoyed the book
I was told by the author that even one sentence would count as a review, so my sentence is---I really enjoyed this book and I think you will as well! PS--If you enjoy this genre, you can't go wrong here. Trust me.
This is a very good love story with all the ups and downs of courtship. It was Well written and worth the read. It's also a book you can give your grandma to read!
I read all six books in the Take a Chance series in quick succession, so this is a blanket review for the series:
Firstly, Nancy Warren always manages to write characters who are relatable, quirky, individual and likeable. Secondly, she has an innate ability to develop those characters just enough and in just the right ways for us to become totally invested in the outcome of their stories.
This collection of books can be read as stand-alone but is so much more rewarding if read in order. They are sweet, romantic, a little bit steamy and every so difficult to put down. I enjoyed every last one and was so disappointed when I read the last sentence of the last book. Straight to the top of my favourite reads this year!

Why'd you pick this book? Love this series!

Favorite and Least Favorite part: This was my favorite of the entire series. Marguerite is so wonderful and Alexei is so genuine I love them so much. I also have a fondness for food trucks, don't ask. But this book is just A+, top tier
If you like this book you might like: Murder to Go by Chloe Kendrick started my food truck love, so check it out
Another great book about the Chance Family. Marguerite & Alexei have great chemistry together. Both are passionate about food, Marguerite growing it and Alexei cooking it. Things between them sizzle!!
I have never read any of the “Take a Chance” series by Nancy Warren before but now I would love to read more of her books! The description of this book is what made me want to read it and it did not let me down. Smexy love, growing and cooking organic food, family what more could one want from an emotion driven stirring romance story? ☺ Marguerite Chance, what a gorgeous name! A woman who owns her own organic fruit and vegetable farm, drinks herbal teas, of course owns a cat, mellow, and caring. In the first chapter we see her going to see the chefs that order and prepare her produce for their restaurants something she doesn’t do very often but likes to keep in touch with them; when she can manage it. Alexi Vasilopoulos, the owner of a food truck, buys Marguerite’s produce for the meals he sells. He is the embodiment of all things gorgeous and takes Marguerite’s breath away when she looks or thinks about him. Every woman that has ever seen him looks at him with a powerful lusting desire.
When she gets to Alexi’s food truck, she can’t wait for him to try one of her new heirloom tomatoes. He slices one of them and gives one to her too. As they share a taste of the purple heirloom tomato they become entranced with it’s flavor. Mesmerized by the goodness of the taste they can’t wait for her to grow more. Alexi even names a dish after her, calling it “Tomatoes Marguerite” Marguerite would love to grow more than just heirloom tomatoes for Alexi if you know what I mean… When Marguerite gets back home she goes to one of her sisters’ Iris at Iris’s café to talk about her morning or she thinks she will burst! Marguerite tells her sister that when Alexi and her were sharing their morning together, she felt like it was so private and personal it was like a wonder of passion. The wonder of it all goes from this moment on. Alexi and Marguerite go through the ups and downs of falling in love. Marguerite has been cheated on before with her ex-boyfriend therefore her mindset is not always good when she thinks of men. When it comes to proposing well let’s just say it gets interesting by the end. You also get to read about Geoff and Iris as they walk down the aisle and hear about the surprise coming for them! When it gets to the end, I wasn’t ready but am I ever ready for the stories to end? Reader beware: a few sex scenes
I, was given this book, by Netgalley.com for review purposes.
If you love a fun story, then Love to Go is the story for you! Love to Go is book #5 in Nancy Warren’s lovely Take A Chance series. The Take A Chance series is the story of the Chance family. Daphne and Jack Chance met on a cross-country bus trip, fell in love, and raised a houseful of children… some by birth, some by adoption. This family is defined by love. Each book centers on a different grown child.
Marguerite Chance is the daughter who loves her family, and her simple life. She lives in a cabin on her parent’s home-place. She is a dedicated organic farmer who loves nature, grub worms, and dirt beneath her fingernails. Alexi Vasilopoulis owns a food truck in the nearby city. He is a sincerely nice guy, but his Adonis looks have created difficulties for him during his entire adult life. Fashion model gorgeous women approach him all the time. Most guys would be happy. He calls it his “curse”. Marguerite sells her heirloom tomatoes to Alexi… a friendship blossoms. Alexi is smitten with Marguerite. She’s his perfect woman. Marguerite believes that she can not compete with the beautiful women that are always around Alexi. Miscommunication and hurt feelings ensue.
No spoilers here, but the final chapter of this story is so much fun! It’s as much fun as watching Chevy Chase in Vacation, or Bill Murray in Ghostbusters, or John Belushi in Animal House! Will Marguerite and Alexi claim their love… and give both of their mothers the grandchildren that they vocally desire? This book is a favorite. It is a book that always lightens my mood… and puts a smile on my face. 5 stars!
Love to Go by Nancy Warren Take a Chance Series Book Five Marguerite Chance had been burned by a good-looking guy once. No way was she going to allow it to happen again. But oh my, Alexei was more beautiful than any man she'd ever met. She delivered her organic grown produce to her clients herself at least once a month to see how they were doing. Alexei's Greek was her favorite stop. But she knew a man like him couldn't be happy with only one woman. Especially not someone as drab looking as she was.
Alexei Vasilopolous, brother to Matt from Every Rose, is happy with his budding food truck business. He's not so happy about the face he was cursed with. Ever since he was a young tyke women were tugging his cheeks or in awe of his beauty. He had been openly chased by women his whole life. Now someone like Marguerite—she was perfect. They had their livelihood in food as a common bond.
Great story. The secondary story is what is going on in Iris and Geoff's life (Iris in Bloom, book two.) And of course, the reader gets to revisit some of the other quirky Chance's. Like Jack and Daphne, the parents. You can read their story for free in the prequel, Chance Encounter. **Sensual content http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
