When one of their own is tragically killed in an ambush, the Navy investigates Scott Devonshire and his elite team of SEALs. In order to prove their innocence, he’ll have to track down their fallen comrade’s widow to get the truth, but there’s just one problem—she’s nowhere to be found.
Meanwhile, brilliant hacker Hayley Stevens is digging up dirt on the unit in hopes of snagging a promotion, but she has her doubts about the SEAL team’s guilt. When she reluctantly teams up with Scott to prove he and his comrades had nothing to do with their friend’s death, she doesn’t expect romance. But the sparks that fly between them have Scott contemplating setting aside his womanizing ways. Until she is captured by an unknown adversary, that is.
Now he has to make a decision: Hayley, or his team? Whichever side he chooses, he’s going to become embroiled in a conflict that could potentially take down everyone he cares about—one that goes all the way to the top.
New to Leslie? Readers suggest starting with 'The Bossy One' (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C6BP3BBF) —Imagine a sunny Minnesotan Mary Poppins, employed by a grumpy Irish billionaire. The story is a blend of humor, revenge, passion, heartbreak, hope, and witty banter. As one reader put it, ‘This story had me squealing at the romantic moments and silly moments.’

This is the second book in this series ... but this one also does quite well as a stand-alone.
SEALs Team 10 has lost one of their members ... he was shot and killed be a sniper. The Navy is investigating the remainder of the team. The SEALs aren't going to take this laying down. They hustle to find the widow of the killed SEAL ... supposedly she has secret documents ... but she has disappeared.
Hayley Stevens is an FBI Agent, working in the cyber crimes unit. She, too, is investigating the SEAL 10 Team and they want those documents that have disappeared with the widow.
Enter Scotty Devonshire, a member of the elite team. When Scotty and Hayley meet, there is instant attraction. Hayley soon decides that the team was not responsible for the death and turns rogue to help prove their innocence. But someone in the FBI wants the team found guilty.
How far up the chain does the corruption go?
The story is well-written, if not a little predictable .. which most romantic suspense stories are. The author has a very good balance of suspense and romance. The characters were charming. Hayley is a lot independent and Scotty is not as tough as SEALs are usually portrayed, but they are both so likeable.
If your favorite genre is Romantic Suspense and you haven't tried this author .. I would recommend giving her a shot.
Many thanks to the author and NetGalley who provided a digital copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
ARC Review: Hacking the Seal (Saving the Seals # 2)
The search for answers brings them together. The death of a friend leaves more questions than answers. It leaves Scott and his team under a cloud of suspicion. The guilt and grief weigh heavy on his shoulders. When Hayley stumbles across vital info in clearing Scott and his comrades in any wrongdoing, she finds herself entangled in world of dangerous secrets. Hayley is smart, tenacious and knows her way around a hard drive. Scott is a Seal through and through. Together this rogue duo confront conspiracies and and attraction that is spiraling out of control. Hacking the Seal is full of moments that had me catching my breath and needing to cool down.
I was given an ARC by the author for an honest review.
This is book two. The SEAL team continues trying to find out who killed Nick. Scotty is sent to go through Nick’s house to try to locate his widow, Natalie. Instead, Scotty finds Hayley, an FBI hacker, rummaging through the house. Scotty convinces Hayley to team up with the SEALS to find Natalie.
Scotty is your typical alpha SEAL. Hayley is intelligent and gutsy.
There is romance, mystery and suspense. Hayley befriends Natalie which ads another twist to the story. It will be interesting to see where the story goes from here and which Seal gets his HEA next. You do need to read the first book to know what is going on in this book.
Leslie North does it again! She has the ability to grab hold of you from the very first page and doesn't let you go until you've read the final page, and even then, you are left with wanting more. Hacking the SEAL, the second book in the Saving the SEALs series has everything fans of Leslie North wants... action, suspense, blackmail, danger, revenge, guilt, grief, secrets, attraction, romance, swoon worthy moments, a great story-line, interesting characters, which all lead to a HEA.
I received a courtesy copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Action, action and more action is what you'll find when reading Hacking the Seal. Plus a lot of hot Navy Seals and a pretty awesome heroine. I feel the books in the Saving the Seals series would read better if read in order. These are connecting books and without reading book one first you might be a little lost as to some of plot. With that being said I can't wait for book three to come out!
Sexy and exciting! Scotty and Hayley's story will keep you on the edge of your seat and leave you wanting more! Can't wait for the next installment of the Seal series! 5 stars!!
This is the second book in the series about seal team ten and them losing a team member and being accused of it somehow. They are on their own mission of coming up with evidence to clear them, but also find out who and why Nick was killed. Scotty is sent to the home of the missing wife of the deceased team member to try to come up with anything. What he did find was a sexy Hayley Stevens who looks like a 1940’s pin-up model, but is actually a supreme hacker and he later finds out is working for the FBI. At this moment the FBI does not know she is searching the home, and together they both are coming up with conflicting stories when they decide to work together. This becomes more to the team likening when they find out from her that the FBI is wanting one of them to accept a deal, and she suspects her boss as having something under handed to do with it. There is also a romance between her and Scotty which is pretty hot but does not take away from the story. Overall this book closes with you ready for the next one which I don’t have so I don’t know how this series will end, but this was a fast paced, and full of action. Overall a good book. I got this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com
Scott Devonshire know as Scotty (Navy SEAL working undercover with his team) is in the home of the missing wife of his murdered teammate when he runs into FBI hacker Hayley Stevens doing the same thing in hopes of a promotion and more job security at the FBI. They find information to a false grave of they young widow and meet again the search for the truth about the wife's whereabouts. Super hacker Hayley is Hacking for SEAL when she comes to work with Scotty's team as they locate the wife, gets caught in a shoot-out with FBI rogue agents lead by Hayley's boss. Playboy SEAL Scotty falls hard for Hayley as she keeps him guessing and on his toes in a sexy, adventurous and mutual romance.
Another good book in this series. I love the characters, the story, and the romance. But you need to read all 4 to have the complete mystery solved. I'm on to book 3 now.
This is the second book in the Saving the SEALs series, it’s debatable that it can be read as a stand-alone though not having read the first book I was able to pick up the continuing plotline easily enough as prior history was disseminated well.
Navy SEAL Scott Devonshire is on a lone mission to find information on the whereabouts of the widow of his deceased teammate at a home she was found to own when he meets the redheaded FBI agent Hayley Stevens doing apparently the same thing. That the widow is missing so soon after her husband’s death by sniper was a red flag to his teammates as well as the FBI. His SEAL Team is under investigation after the death of one of their own on a mission and the remaining men are probing against orders from their command structure. Finding out answers is too important to wait on others when it’s been made to appear that they took out their own man something these men would never do. It’s not just for their lost friend that they seek answers but to regain their honor.
Running into the sexy SEAL was unplanned but perhaps fortunate for Haley, she knows that solving this case could get her the promotion she desires and allying with the SEAL could get her faster intelligence if she can manage the distraction of his presence, the chemistry between them is evident. As she’s a top hacker within a cyber-crimes unit what she finds seems to point to a cover up and to find the truth she might have to go rogue to help the team, there seem to be forces within her agency she’s cannot trust.
Scotty and Haley made a good team, a tough hero and a sassy smart heroine. Neither expected to find romance but when you find that person that just completes you, you have to reach for and hold on to them. The supporting cast of SEAL’s was most interesting. The story was enjoyable filled with action and suspense yet it was reminiscent of one I read before, the details widely differed but the theme of SEALs in trouble, disgraced and working to prove their innocence was the same. There is no full, only a partial, resolution to the answers they were searching for, which should have been made clear in the blurb, the underlying mystery crosses over into future books. Will I read the next book? Possibly, the storyline is intriguing and leaves you wanting to know who is doing this to the SEALs, the conspiracy is deep.
ARC was provided by the publisher via NetGalley, this version was unfortunately riddled with errors, 42 of them, which were hopefully corrected prior to publication.
I am on the fence with this one. One, I am not a fan of series that don't have clear endings at the end of the book. The fact that I have to read another book to see how the main plot works out doesn't make me happy. I don't mind series, I love many of them, but I want each book to clearly end. This one, sadly does not. I think I also might have missed a first book that was Gabe and Anna's story. If you go into this expecting a neat and tidy ending, you won't get it. You will get a minor HEA with Scotty and Hayley but the main plot does not wrap up....lots of loose ends that will have to continue in the next book.
So, about the characters. I didn't think the SEALs acted like SEALs, I didn't feel Scotty was as alpha as I expected and he kind of let Hayley get away with a lot. He put a lot of trust in a person he only knew for like 2 days. Teams are tight, and they wouldn't have him running around on his own. and I don't think they would be dragging a civilian (FBI Agent) along with them. I just had a hard time reading this team as a SEAL team. They just didn't click for me.
Hayley was a smart and strong heroine. I liked her character. She could take care of herself, and she didn't bow down when she fell in love. She continued to be the same character throughout the book. She did what she felt was right, didn't back down and could kick butt. I liked that.
Overall this was an okay read. I liked the heroine, the plot was intriguing though I am frustrated that it doesn't clearly end in the book, and the romance was good (it is definitely insta-love). If you suspend belief on the SEALs behavior they can work too, though not so much for me, it's just now how things work in the military. Overall, it was a short read (I read in the afternoon), it kept me engaged.
Will I continue to read? I am not sure, it depends on what I have in my queue at the time and who is in the next story. I can't say this book jumped out at me. A 2.5/3 star read in my opinion.
This was a fast paced exciting book! I love the camaraderie between this Seal team, and how they include those they love too. This had an intriguing storyline, lots of action, suspense, secrets, betrayal, and several twists that you'll never see coming but will have you turning the pages to find out what happens next. It was truly a fantastic story! The only thing I wasn't thrilled with was that it does end with a cliffhanger, which I hate. This one wasn't too bad considering, but you do have to read the next book to get the rest of the story. The only good thing about this is that the next book is due out in a couple of months, so the wait won't be too bad. Although I hadn't read book #1, I didn't feel as though I was missing too much starting with this book. I'm sure there is a lot more that I could've understood by reading it but there was just enough reference that I could get the gist of it. You will however have to read #3 to finish the story from this book, which is fine since it's such a great read! I can't wait for the next book! I strongly recommend this book and series!
I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
Scott and his team of Navy Seals were under suspicion for one of their brother navy seal’s death. Scott really needs to find out why the seals are being set up for Nick’s murder. Scott goes to Nick’s house looking for Nick’s widow Natalie instead he finds an FBI agent that was a hacker within a cyber-crime unit. Haley - the FBI agent- is trying to solve this case for a promotion. Hayley is smart and gutsy. Hayley and Scott need to find Natalie.Scott wants Hayley to team up with the Seals to find Natalie. Hayley decides to work with the Seals. There is an attraction between Hayley and Scott . Scott is known to be a womanizer and doesn’t seem to have a problem finding a woman when he wants one. But he does change his way of thinking for Hayley, I liked this story - really enjoyed it until the end then a cliffhanger which is the one thing i absolutely hate . The cliffhanger is why this story was rated a 4 instead of a 5. It had a lot of action and even some romance and I liked that. The plot was good as well as the story being well written. I love the characters especially Scott and Hayley and all the ups and downs they go through. I recommend. I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.
Hacking the Seal, book two in Saving the Seals is my first read from Leslie North.
I have been procrastinating for this review since I didn't get the time to read the first book in the series. But here we go.
The plot follows Scott and Hayley while he and his team are looking to find who killed Nick. Scott goes to find Nick's widow and in her place, he finds Hayley, an FBI hacker. Besides feeling the attraction Scott and Hayley team up to uncover the mystery. I liked the interaction between Scott and Hayley even though this follows the eternal line where the man is a known womanizer and the woman is smart and sexy and makes him change his ways. I have a soft spot for a Seal story since there is something about the men willing to fight for justice so Scott and his team made my day.
The book was an easy read with enough mystery, action and romance to keep me entertained. I feel though I must read the first book to understand better the plot and team dynamics. A solid 3-star story for me maybe because the writing style didn't captivate me completely from beginning.
The end left me with wanting to read more but I guess I have to wait now for the next book in the series.
ARC provided by the publisher through Netgalley for my honest review.
Hacking the Seal is titillating, suspenseful, and an absolute incredible read. This second installment of Seal Team Ten is fantastic. The team is still working to clear their names in the death of a fellow team member and Kyle's younger brother. Hacking the Seal focuses on Hayley and Scotty.
Scotty is known as the playboy of the Team always having a ready and willing partner when needed. Never complicate life with something or someone permanent. That all changes when he meets Hayley in the kitchen of his lost team-mates widows kitchen. He is there to find the widow and something that will help solve why Nick was murdered and why his team is being set up for the kill.
Hayley is working to solve a case for a promotion. Little does she realize her run in with a HOT Seal is going to change her outlook and goals. These two work together to help solve the ongoing case, find the missing e-reader and clear the Team's names.
This story has twists and turns and you never know who to trust and who to keep your eye on. Edge of your seat suspense the entire time. The romance developed between Hayley and Scotty is magnetic and intense. A great read.
Awesome. This was a book of hot Navy Seals and those that conspire against them. Scotty is part of Seal Team 10 with bogus charges against them for the death of one of their teammates. Hayley is an upcoming cybersecurity specialist with the FBI who generally doesn't to field work, until now. Hayley gets orders from her boss but believes they are bogus as well for one of the Seal team members to plead guilty to the death of their teammate, then the rest of the team would be left out of the investigation. Scotty is still investigating with his team and Hayley is working with him as a rogue agent so they can keep the information going to get to the bottom of what happened. The pace of the book increases as things start happening and they find a couple of the bad guys but not the main one. Which I'm sure I will have to read the next book or two to find the main bad guy. This was well written. I loved it and am looking forward to the next book. I'm sure you will enjoy this book. The author kept the book going with no gaps and was well written. Awesome story. Action packed romance that you won't be able to put down. Enjoy
Scotty Devonshire is a Navy SEAL. He is a member of a group that has been suspended because of the death of a teammate. The group is on a covert op to find the real killer. He blurts this out to Haley when he first meets her? How covert is that? Hayley Stevens is an FBI Cyber Security agent trying to get a promotion. They meet looking for missing information stashed by a Romance writer. I didn’t get any chemistry between these two. At 14%, the author uses the term “Lesbo”. I am a straight woman and I found the use of this term insulting. I thought there was missing information in the book at 23%. Scotty & Hayley were dancing in the park and the next moment they have sat down on a park bench. I was lost at this point. Hayley and Scotty are kidnapped, they Hayley is rescued by the FBI and Scotty is rescued before he can be shot and thrown into the water. They are patched up in the ER. They they are off to join the group and continue to find out what really happened to their teammate.
This is book 2 of a series. The SEALs and their friends are still hunting for the answers to what happened to their fallen comrade.
Hacking the SEAL is the story of Scotty and Haley. Like in Gage and Anna's story the SEAL team Ten is working to find who is behind the death of their brother and teammember and figure out exactly what happened to his widow. However now they have to content with the FBI.
While looking for Natalie, Scotty stumbles upon a red head looking through her things...Haley. Haley is a hacker and cyber analyst for the FBI she has been assigned to this case to find Natalie and to find the SEAL team Ten so they pay for what they did. However things are not adding up for her and she decides to do a little digging of her own.
We run into black mailed FBI agents, Michael Becks, and a couple trying to find themselves in a mess of a mission.
Leslie North does it again with her latest in the Saving the SEALS series. Scotty and his team are still reeling from the loss of their team mate Nick, looking for answers and Nick's widow. So when Scotty does some recon at the widow's last known address he doesn't realize he is about to meet the one woman who will forever change his life. Haley is with the FBI Cyber Security team and is also looking into the same thing, so they decide to work together. Haley and Scotty make the perfect team, the brains and the brawn, and are willing to go the extra mile for the other when the situation calls for it. When they find the widow, Natalie, they realize the situation is bigger than anyone thought. I absolutely loved this book! I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Scotty and his Seal team have lost their teammate, Nick and are being accused of his death. They need to find Nick’s widow, Natalie, and answers as to why they are being framed. Scotty’s world is never going to be the same after he meets FBI agent, Hayley who is with the Cyber Security Team. They meet looking for information on Natalie. Hayley becomes convinced that the Team is being set up so she joins them in their search for answers.
Another exciting read by Leslie North. The heroes are awesome and the story is strong. Hayley’s character was strong without being overwhelming. I’m excited to read the next one in the Saving the Seals series to see what happens next!
Scotty and his SEAL team are still reeling from a team members death for which they are being blamed for. Scotty does some recon at his team member's widows house looking for answers he comes across Haley, who is looking to advance her career. Haley is an FBI cyber intel agent and as she begins investigating she realizes that Scotty is telling the truth and his team is innocent. They start working together and begin developing feelings for each other and ends up helping them find Nick's widow. I really enjoyed this story of betrayal, espionage, danger, and love. It was a great read and watching these two not only work together but fall for each other was fun to watch.
Received ARC in exchange for a honest review from NetGalley
Wow. This book was so good. I don't what to say. The whole time I was reading this I was thinking, this would be such a good movie! And then I thought, this is better than most movies I have seen in long time! The suspense and intrigue were smart and well planned, keeping a reader on her toes not figuring out all the twist as they came. Scotty and Hayley, smoking hot best combination of beauty brains and brawn. The supporting cast was clever and filled in the story effortlessly and the continuation from book one and the set up for book three had me gasping for more! Awesome perfect, loved every minute of it!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book had a definite mix of action and romance. Scott and Hayley were brought together to search for answers regarding a tragedy, but do they find the answers or more questions? Together this duo (with the help of others from Scott's SEAL team), are looking to uncover the truth surrounding a mysterious and tragic death. This book held my attention from start to finish, and I could barely put it down.
I really did love this book, and looking forward to more from this author as well as looking into the other books within this series.
This ARC book was given to me by Netgalley for an honest review. I had read Play it Safe by Ms North and was looking forward to reading Hacking the Seal. I was NOT disappointed. This is the beginning of her series, Saving the SEALS . The Team is being investigated for the death of one of their Seal brothers. To complicate things , they are also being hacked by Hayley Stevens, won is hoping to get a promotion out of her investigations. Not only is there a great deal of suspense, intrigue and hunky SEALS, but also a romance is ready to ignite between Hayley and Scott. A great mix for a wonderful story, and one that Ms North excels in.
Hacking the Seal is book two in the Saving the Seals series and yet again Leslie North delivers! Her writing style literally grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let go until the very last and then leaves you wanting more!
Packed with action, suspense, blackmail, a hot alpha, danger, revenge oh and some sexy time thrown in creates a great read with characters that I enjoyed. Some of their interactions left me holding my breath one minute and laughing out loud the next!
Would highly recommend to readers who enjoy romantic suspense. I can’t wait to read the next instalment in the series!
**Copy received courtesy of NetGalley in exchange of an honest review**
Omg omg omg Yes Leslie better n better, stepping up, loved it. For the new comers this is a second book in the series and yes I would have to say the best. It's not the sexy SEALS so much as the story as a whole that captured me, although sexy SEAL's help. Your character development is fabulous and I keep saying you have grown as an author. I loved the suspense, the action, the heat of the connection between two people. That touch of violence and a heroine that is protective and alpha and full of sass. Definitely recommend to all.
I received this book as an ARC for my honest review Another great book from Leslie. Hacking the Seal was suspenseful, had some romance, and a little laughter. This book was about Scotty and Hayley. Seal Team 10 was under review and suspected of one of their own being killed on an op. Scotty is seeking answers at the widow's home, who is also missing, when he meets up with Hayley in the widow's home. At one point Halyley lets Scotty know she works for the FBI Cyber Security team. Both go looking for answers. It was very hard putting down this book.
