About the author

JERRY SUMMERS has extensive law enforcement experience in patrol functions, investigations, crime scene reconstruction, arson, and blood spatter expertise, stemming from blood, sweat and tears shed on the streets with bad guys and victims. Jerry worked in internal affairs, police management, and administration. He rose through the ranks from patrol to police chief, where he served eight years. He loved serving the people, community and department, but hated the political corruption and politics. Forced into retirement due to holding people in positions of power accountable for their actions, a fact proven in court, Jerry began his writing career.

Jerry has many stories regarding his time on the streets and doing crime scene reconstruction and arson investigations. Jerry also has a background as a minister (of the non-judgmental variety) and extensive experience in banking and finance (as well as real estate sales and development, hazardous tree removal, food service, insurance sales, juvenile detention management, mold-removal from wicker baskets, management consulting, teaching, preaching, counseling...you get the picture).

Jerry Summers holds an undergraduate degree in pastoral ministry and a master's degree in business administration in marketing from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom.

Now, in his retirement, Jerry uses his diverse and unusual background to create memorable dialog, straight forward sexual encounters and crime scenes (yes, they are twisted, but they are also very realistic-Jerry knows from experience) that capture the reader's imagination.

A fine mystery with lots of intrigue. A fine romance novel, too. The story itself was good and hard to put down. Parts of the book can handle all the great detail in the novel, but others could use much less. I found myself skimming through some of the repetitive drivel just to get to the next interesting section or chapter. Truly the author is a good writer with imagination about "spin" that is totally interesting. How the "other half" lives in their riches and daily lives is very interesting, but again, a little less detail would have been better. The author is flaunting wealth as the solution to most all problems and was difficult for me. The Sean/Jessica/Bonnie tie in this book is definitely a "spin" to the next book. I did finish the book and would have been unhappy not completing tying up the loose ends in my mind, but I am not sure I would be interested in a series of this sort.

You can tell that the author, Jerry Summers, has extensive knowledge in law enforcement is evident in this novel and it payed off! It took me a few chapters to get into the book but once I did, game on! It then became a race to finish it because I needed to find out what happened. Of course the ending leaves a chance for a 2nd book (and please let there be one). There is danger, sex, and tons of twists and turns, which is what I adore in a good book. Thanks to the writing style of Summers the characters seem like they have become one of your friends and that you are right along with them on their adventure.

The synopsis appeared to offer more thrills and mystery than what actually materialised. Starting out as the story of a fashion business getting the opportunity to expand it continues as this for half the book. The writing style is easy reading so I was not unduly concerned however I was still waiting for something to happen, a plot to unfold, something. The story as interesting as it was, is missing a serious plot and some mystery requiring you to guess the next step or play, but no it is very straight forward with little or no work for the reader. It is more like the first few episodes of a TV soap opera. This seems harsh but when you expect a lot more it is very disappointing.

South American Mining and Fashion parallel for big bucks and mystery in Brazil. Sean Green, the central character, puts spin on deals to make himself successful and uses his skills to make himself rich. There's lots of romance and explicit sex to entertain the reader and the author is good at this. The book didn't seem to move very fast in ways because of the intricate descriptions. (Money and what it affords, fashion, food, etc) Book #2, I'm not sure I'd read another.

Uncontrolled Spin is an entertaining novel with enough twists and turns to keep the reader interested until the end. The story was interesting and the characters were well developed. There seemed to be the right balance of mystery, suspense and romance to keep me turning the pages. It was an easy enough read so it lent itself to being read at one sitting. I am looking forward to reading more “spins” from this author

I read this after winning it through goodreads. I found the beginning to be rather slow. However by half way, the book was hard to put down. The main character Jessica was not well-developed and lacked character and personality. What is great about this book is how well researched it is on business and forensics. I would recommend this book, and look forward to the second.

mostly soap opera about the very rich and powerful with a murder or two weaved into it. one murder is subtle and we know who did it and why but it's deemed accidental....the first murder is. violent and blatant and is not resolved in this book. the plot was good but the characters were stereotypical.
