When Roo says he has more fun playing at his friends' houses rather than at home, Kanga decides to go full Supermom and remind him there's no place like home.
(My Pooh Project: I love Winnie the Pooh, and so does my wife. Having a daughter gave us a chance to indoctrinate her into the cult by buying and reading her every Pooh book we came across. How many is that? I’m going to count them this year by reading and reviewing one every day and seeing which month I finally run out. Track my progress here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list... )
I read this aloud (quietly, I have a cold and also, it was) at the library this evening, to my child, but did not let him borrow the book. I just have an almost-justified grudge against books starring Winnie the Pooh and Roo, which were not written by A. A. Milne.
In this "Lessons from the Hundred-Acre Wood" book (Book 4) Roo learns that although at times his house is boring and seems like there isn't anything to do. When he goes to his friends house to play he never wants to go home. So Kanga invites everyone over and they have a joyous day that 'they' don't want to leave so Kanga finishes the day with a sleepover outside! Roo learns the lesson at the back of the story " A lesson a day Pooh's Way: There's no place like home with Kanga!"
