What’s worse than butt dialing the man who could make or break your career? Accidentally sleeping with him.

Public speaking coach Lacey Ames has landed the client of a lifetime with Lawrence Newsom III, heir apparent to his family’s private jet empire. If she can help him land the role as the company’s president, she’ll never need to wait another table again. The job, however, proves more challenging than Lacey ever dreamed when Lawrence turns out to be Alex, the sexy pilot she spent one steamy night with while stranded in Chicago.

Alex knows the easiest way to win the board's election would be to do as his grandfather advises: rekindle the romance with his ex, the daughter of an influential board member. But how can he think about anyone else when his klutzy-but-delectable new public speaking coach is a constant temptation?

If their tryst becomes common knowledge, both of their futures are at risk. The only solution is to keep the action in the boardroom strictly business. But with chemistry like theirs, that's easier said than done.

What a cute little romance! I giggled a lot reading this book and I enjoyed the author's writing despite the fact that this is the first time I've read her work. Look forward to read more from her!

This was brought to me as a Rom-Com which it is and so much damn more! I went into it this thinking just that and it was so much more! There was angst, a character to hate, humor, and secrets. The instant attraction was immediate!!! I can't say enough about this story. It was brilliant and perfectly paced to keep my attention.

This book was cute but really stupid at the same time. The drama was just so convoluted.

Butt dialing gone horribly wrong (or right?). Lacey Adams has just been given her first big solo job as a public speaking coach. As she sits in her hotel room before heading out for the flight to the job, she accidentally butt dials the client with her uber-sensitive phone. More than once! But, instead of talking to him, she hangs up. When she goes to catch the private plane of her client, she falls into conversation with sexy pilot Alex. When they become stranded by a snowstorm, they eventually end up sharing the last hotel room available and falling to bed together.

When they wake the next morning and she calls the client and the other phone rings next to the bed, she is mortified and angry to find out that it is none other than Alex, aka Lawrence Alexander Newsom III. When Alex insists to Lacey’s boss that he insists on her being his coach, they end up spending more and more time together. With lots of people interfering, some to get them together and others to keep them apart, these two fight an uphill battle to find a future together.

The chemistry between Lacey and Alex was off the charts and the humor instilled throughout the story keeps you from ever wanting to put the book down. I thoroughly enjoyed this book by Maggie Dallen and give it a full 5 stars.

Not A Math Book! I'll admit, I picked this book up thinking maybe it had to do with numbers. I'm a math geek, sue me. :D What I got instead was a very fun, very sexy introduction to Maggie Dallen's writing. Very much looking forward to the next book in this series, and very highly recommended. :)

Review of audiobook version of PG, New Adult, romantic comedy

Twenty-something Lacey Ames, a theater major who struggled for several years to find any work beyond waitressing after graduating from college, is delighted with her current career. She provides public speech training to corporate executives and, after only six months on the job, is thrilled with her biggest assignment to date. Her client is Lawrence Newsom III, an executive from the upper echelons of an aeronautics corporation. Unfortunately, the same day she is scheduled to meet Newsom in person for the first time, her fancy new cellphone betrays her. Due to its hypersensitive touch screen, she accidentally dials Newsom. Fearful of making a fool of herself in front of this important client, when Newsom picks up, she impulsively hangs up on him without identifying herself. Then, to her utter dismay, she accidentally dials him again in the same manner, and hangs up on him again. When he calls her back several times and texts her, she rejects all of his calls and does not answer his texts.

When that same day Lacey arrives at the airport for a private flight on a jet belonging to her client's corporation, she is immediately attracted to the gorgeous pilot, a man named Alex. He is around her age, and he seems as interested in her as she is in him. Just before their scheduled takeoff, they learn that they are stranded for the night due to a storm that has grounded all air traffic. Unfortunately, they are forced to stay at a hotel with only one room with one bed available, and no other rooms are available in any of the other hotels in the whole town.

Alex and Lacey become quite convivial in the hotel bar while they consume together a string of alcoholic drinks, to the point that Lacey is blatantly tipsy. In the course of hours of laughing and talking, she relates to Alex the embarrassing story of her butt-dialing and hanging up on her new client, and they laugh about her mishap together. Alex's charming companionability, in combination with his devastating good looks and their mutual booziness, proves to be an irresistible temptation for Lacey and, completely out of character for her, she instigates a one-night stand with him. Fortunately, the two of them retain enough mental capacity for Alex to ask Lacey multiple times if she is positive she wants to have sex with him, and for her to give verbal consent.

Lacey does not discover until the next morning that her one-night fling is actually Lawrence *Alexander* Newsom, and she is outraged. It is clear that Alex knew all along who she was, and she feels humiliated and used. As an act of self-preservation, she calls her boss, claiming that she has a family emergency and cannot fulfill her assignment. He explains to her that Lawrence Newsom just called him a little while ago and stated that he wants no one but her as his coach, and she is forced to continue with the assignment, which is to last for the next two weeks.

This cute, New Adult, romantic comedy contains a quirky and enjoyable amalgam of multiple popular, romance-genre tropes, including: mistaken identity, stranded travelers who must share the last available hotel room which has only one bed, drunken confessions, a jealous and vindictive ex-girlfriend, and a one-night stand that leads to love. Lacey and Alex are sympathetic protagonists, and there is plenty of romantic conflict in the form of multiple antagonists to insure that their road to true love does not run smooth.

This novel is basically PG. There is some sex in it but there are no graphic or crude descriptions. There is no foul language. There is, however, heavy drinking to the point of drunkenness, and the romantic protagonists engage in sex while both are drunk. There is also an additional, dubious ethical taint to that sexual encounter in that Alex is under the mistaken impression that Lacey is an engaged woman, and she does not correct his misapprehension. These issues may concern some romance readers and not bother many others.

I experienced the audiobook version of this cute novel. Lauren Fortgang does an excellent job as narrator. She acts out all the parts convincingly and is quite skilled at portraying both male and female characters of all ages.

If you're looking for a light-hearted, entertaining romance, this fun, New Adult romance is an excellent choice.

This was one of the quick read books for me. I get that I shouldn't have looked for character depth or some meaningful romance here. But to me this book had a decent idea and it stretched it a lot!!

Well that is just my opinion. Some of you might like it a lot. I would say those who are looking for a book to quickly get done with and not really invest too much in it, this is not the book. The author Maggie Dallen has another book called "The plus one" in the same series. That is a decent book to read.

4.5 -Agradable sorpresa - estrellas.

*SPOILER ALERT*

PR coach, Lacey, is working with her 1st big client and she can’t screw this up...after all, she does not want to return to her old job as a waitress. What Lacey doesn’t count on is the one night hookup with a hot pilot...who turns out to be her client!
Alex doesn’t want to go before the board of his family’s company to persuade them to give him the job as CEO. That was supposed to be his father’s job except his dad passed away suddenly a fee months ago. His grandfather has hired a PR coach to prepare him for his presentation...except she is the adorably sexy one night hookup that he can’t get over. Lacey and Alex agree to keep their relationship strictly professional...at least until the board’s vote. Unfortunately, Alex’s ex, who’s father is a board member, has plans of being Mrs. Alex. Newsome and will stop at nothing to keep the star crossed lovers apart, including calling the owner of Lacey’s company to complain. Can Alex and Lacey survive the machinations of Jess and her father? Will the board approve Alex as the next CEO?
This is another great story from this author. Your emotions are run through the wringer...from humor to anger to love...it’s fantastic! The narration was perfect...you were pulled seamlessly into the story and characters. This is a must read if you love stories with a nasty, manipulative ex!
I voluntarily accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Less Than Three by Maggie Dallen is the second book I’ve listened to from this author and I am completely hooked. The narrator, Lauren Fortgang, performed brilliantly. Less Than Three starts with a mistaken butt dial and just goes up from there.

Lacey is a public speaking coach, but sometimes feels like a fraud. She’s just been assigned this big client and everything is riding on her being able to help him land the role of CEO in his family’s private jet empire. On her way to meet said client, she meets a sexy pilot who takes her breath away. When they get stranded due to a snowstorm, a heated night between the sheets occur. But when morning comes, the couple is dealt with some hard truths.

Great chemistry between our main characters and the narrator did an amazing job at bringing them to life. Looking forward to more books written by Maggie Dallen and also more books narrated by Lauren Fortgang.

Maggie Dallen is fast becoming a one click for me when I am in need of a good contemporary romance! Less Than Three had me from the very beginning. How much more awkward can it get than sleeping with your client when you don't even know it's him? It turns out Lacey is supposed to coach Alex on public speaking to get him through the most important business meeting of his life. But this turns out to be so much more than coaching! Dallen has infused comedy into her stories as well as a good moral. Lacey is a wonderfully independent woman and has the guts to speak her mind. Alex is smart, good looking and is need of some guidance. Give these two some time, they will make you laugh, frustrate you and give you hope and love!

Lauren Fortgang is amazing with her narrations. I love her acting ability, always perfect with her comedic timing and her voices are superb! She gives this story that little emotional tug and a whole lot of comedy! A great weekend listen!

This was my first experience with Maggie Dallen's writing. The story was enjoyable with likeable characters. I liked Lacey and Alex together. Their story wasn't overly anxious in spite of being full of intrigue and secret agendas. I liked Lacey's supportive and no-nonsense nature. Alex worked so hard on his insecurities I liked him too for that and also for the way he was determined to give the relationship with Lacey a chance.

On a side note though: I don't think two marginally comical scenes are enough to make a comedy so, in this respect, the book wasn't at all what I thought it would be. In my opinion it wasn't a comedy at all but a pretty good and enjoyable romance nonetheless.

Lauren Fortgang did a superb job with this narration. I loved her voice. She used well distinguishable tones and voice pitches and accents for the different characters. Her performance was great, she made the book even better.

Audiobook Review:
Less Than Three: A Romantic Comedy (Starting From Zero, Book 1) drew me in with its hilarious synopsis. I love the curtain-raiser scenes with the tushie dialing and the unwittingly sleeping with the man who could be cataclysmal to her career. I love how the writing style is organic and witty at same time. I found the characters sweet-natured with outlandish characteristics. Chemistry between Alex and Lacey is undeniable, along with campy banter between these two creates a exhilarating listen. Secrets, and lies swirling through the pages of this office romance creating a bit of angst to the narrative. A entertaining listen.

Narator Lauren Fortgang is the perfect choice to narate this audiobook. Her elemental being intonation has a comical flair. She gives every character their own voice. She expresses all character's in their own way creating a fun listen.

4/5

I really liked this book. The more Maggie Dallen that I read, the more I like her. And she did it again.
Less Than Three was a fun read about Alex and Lacey.
Each of them were working through their new lives, but this brought them together.
Lacey, a public speaking coach, is at Alex’s company to help him become the CEO following in his grandfathers footsteps, but must first get the boards approval.
Lacey was wonderful, she wasn’t perfect, but she tried her best.
Alex was cocky, but sweet and irriesstible. I couldn’t help but love him.
Through this, they have chemistry that they are each fighting. That is the majority of the story. But it is sweet. They trust each other, open up to each other.
Though they have to work through the complications (and some lying), it is a great, quick read!

From the 1st scene, I was absolutely hooked! Maggie Dallen and Lauren Fortgang are an amazing Duo! The writing was superb! I love the natural, witty, writing style Maggie uses. I find myself giggling more than a school girl! I absolutely loved the characters. They were beyond easy to fall in love with. Great chemistry, great characters and great writing! Loved it!

Narration was amazing! Lauren's narration was perfect for this book. She has a wonderful tone to her voice but better than that, she has great timing and comedic qualities. She added so much depth to her narration and made it an absolute pleasure to listen to. She absolutely made a fan of me.

Great read!

Quirky Romance!

What a way to start a book! Maggie is brilliant with her opening scenes! I was hooked from the very start and couldn't step away! The characters were funny and relate-able the banter was quirky and refreshing! Maggie took me on a roller coaster of emotions while listening to this. I laughed, I was pissed, I swooned, I got ragey, I was sad, I was even ragey-er (yes I am making that a word!), and then I swooned all over again! I cannot wait to get more audios by Maggie! She is quickly becoming one of my favorite Rom-Com writers!

The narration was fantastic! I love listening to Lauren Fortgang and am eagerly searching audible to pick up more of her work! She has an amazing ability of giving each character their own unique voice.

Starting from Zero Book One.

Lacey Ames is working at a relatively new firm in public speech coaching. She happens to end up with a major client and knows she cannot mess it up. However, her phone has other thoughts. It autodials the newest number in her phone...her new client. When Lawrence Newsom III picks up the phone, she panics. When Lacey arrives at the airport for her flight to meet her client, she meets the beautiful pilot, Alex. After several missteps, Lacey and Alex work through his anxiety and become close.

If you're looking for a fun romance between a new speech coach and an up-and-coming executive, this is the book for you.

I really enjoyed this one! The characters were great and so was the story. I loved the chemistry between these two and the way that they built there relationship throughout the story. They connect prior to really beginning the professional connection, definitely before Lacey knows about the connection. They then decide to keep things professional which does help them get to know each other. I love the way that Lacey steps outside her comfort zone to help Alex get better at his public speaking. She takes the risk even though she has been warned not to do so by her company. I liked the way that the story flowed throughout. It held my attention from beginning to end and was well done. I loved the quirks of the characters.

A one-night stand between stranded strangers gets much more complicated when it turns out the "strangers" have to be work closely together professionally for the next two weeks. Lots of attraction between them, lots of good intentions to keep things professional, and lots of manipulative interference from the hero's ex and her father make matters even more complicated. And then there's the heroine's "fiance" Sam...

Except for the fact that the two of them fell into bed with each other mere hours after they meet, this evolves into a sweet romance. Cute. The plot is somewhat predictable, but the book is a entertaining piece of fluff with enjoyable bits of humor.

Three and a half stars.

This story is cute, funny and hooks you from the beginning when Lacey Ames accidentally butt dials her very first client, Lawrence Newsome , she hangs up on him and does it again. The whole story seems like it should be a disaster of epic proportions, all odds against Lacey, from that first butt dial, but even with a conniving girlfriend, and her father, an overbearing grandfather and Alex (Lawrence) not knowing the magnitude of his position, we get a HEA, and a job well done by Lacey.
Thank you Maggie Dallen author, Lauren Fortgang, narrator job well done, and Audiobook Obsession for gifting me this audible book for a fair and honest review.

This was a really good intro book for me to this author.

Maggie Dallen wrote two really likeable characters who have a very interesting first meeting. Their undeniable attraction keeps things exciting. And the twists and turns along with strong plot had me easily breezing through this book.

I really enjoyed the narrator, Lauren Fortgang, as well. She had a really good energy in her performance and showed great emotion. I thought her overall tone was good for this third person POV story.

I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another story from this author or narrator in future.

I was hooked on this book from the very beginning. I loved the inner musings in this story, especially the ones that were said out loud. Lacey and Alex were perfect together. I found humor in the butt dialing and excuses as that was so realistic. This book was so much fun! Maggie Dallen wrote a very engaging story that made me laugh out loud. Lauren Fortgang performed the book wonderfully. She had the comic timing down so well. I will definitely listen to more books by both author and narrator. On a side note, this is a standalone listen and has a wonderful ending.

My first book by Dallen. I really enjoyed it. The humor throughout really kept me interested and made for a quick story. Lacey and Alex are two people who begin as young determined professionals who are still working through insecurities and along the way end up helping each other come into their own. The chemistry is palpable throughout but Dallen does not make this story just about the physical attraction/interactions. Add in a multi role playing cat, fake fiance and plotting ex and this makes for a fun and interesting read.
