Eve loves her family, spring and fall in east Texas, the Colorado mountains, dogs, chocolate, books, and electronics. She enjoys cooking except when she is creating, and has been known to tell her husband that is what takeout was created for.

Eve also loves a happy ending. That's why she writes romance.

I enjoyed this book a lot, the heroine was sassy and I loved the flirtation between the hero and heroine. They met five years ago, when the heroine was still recovering from her disastrous marriage but she has changed, stood on her own feet and is happy with her two kids when the hero, her sister's brother-in-law, who is five years younger comes back to town.

They start a hot and heavy affair and her eldest daughter isn't happy as she wants her parents to get back together. There is of course a surprise pregnancy but I loved how fast the relationship moved, how soon they fell in love but how the heroine's need for independence courtesy her marriage came into the way. Overall the book has made me interested to read more books in the series.

This relationship drama is one that faces women the world over every day of the year. With the divorce rate being as high as it is, it is inevitable that at some time or another, mothers are going to have to face choices about remarriage and the effect that it will have on their children. Gail had her fingers badly burnt with her first marriage and has had to learn to be self-sufficient. When Jay persuades her to marry him, he has no idea of the number of problems he faces, starting with a rebellious step-daughter. As Gail and Jay traverse the mine field of emotions and misunderstandings resulting from the fallout of their previous relationships, their both have to learn about give and take and becoming vulnerable in a marriage. This book is really well written and covers issues that I have observed over the years in second marriages. The author doesn't minimise the effects of a broken past and gives the reader hope for the future. The attraction between Jay and Gail was evident from the beginning. I loved Jay's character and his kind persistence in reaching out to Gail warmed my heart. I identified with Gail to an extent and understood where she was coming from as I grew up in a broken family and was taught self-reliance from an early age. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. I thought the storyline was good and very interesting. The characters were very well developed and very important to the telling of the story. I enjoyed the main characters, Jay Kincaid and Gail Summers. However I also enjoyed Mel and Roxy, Gail's daughters. I also enjoyed meeting up again with Cat and Mark. Also, Gail's brothers were interesting as they shared their feelings about Barry Gail's first husband. They never did like the guy. I think Barry helped to make the story interesting too. Although he wasn't a likeable character in the least. He seemed to care more about himself than anyone. I also think the overgrown rescue puppies, Fudge and Fluffy. I also thought that was a nice touch letting Mel and Roxy name the puppies.

I am not sure the graphic sexual dialogue was necessary. I realize the Author wanted to highlight their attraction to one another; but I feel she could have done so without being so graphic. Although it wasn't excessive as I have seen in some other romance novels. Also, it did not add to the telling of the story. If you took it out it would still be a good story.

There was very little profanity and I thought that was good.

Also, I think the story ended okay; but it ended with me feeling like there should be more.

Anyway, I am glad I read it. I hope to read more books from this Author.

Gail is a divorced mother of two small girls. After her marriage ended badly, she is determined to raise her girls without help from anyone. She can’t find it in her heart to trust any man. Enter the new town doctor, Jay Kincaid. He has no plans to become involved with a woman, but you know what they say about the best laid plans.

Gail and Jay fall in love, but they have some obstacles to overcome, not the least of which is the fact that Roxy, Gail’s oldest daughter, wants her mom and dad to get back together. She does her best to drive a wedge between her mom and Jay.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It held my attention from the first chapter to the end. It is the first book that I have read by Ms. Gaddy, but it won’t be the last. I have already added the whole series to my TBR list and I look forward to meeting more residents of Redfish, Texas.

Gah...when am I going to learn?
Not exactly a review but a note for myself because I picked up this audiobook as a filler while waiting for Ilona Andrews next book. With a few but 4 to 5 star reviews I thought to try it and it went well at first.
Unfortunately, it's just the same cookie cutter contemporary romance: boy meets girl (man meets woman) they wink and have lots of sex and get married, and have lots of sex, they have a problem big shout out argument, they separate, they have a heart to heart bare-all talk (which they should have done before commitment but that's just my two cents) and that solves all and they live happily ever after.
I did like that the exes were totally cut off the emotional string before they got serious and were not used as the proverbial ghosts or emotional threats.

Makes you feel good...

This book was a roller coaster ride! As usual Eve Gaddy's characters come alive because they are so real. I started to really dislike Gail near the end for being such an idiot but she came around. Eve Gaddy writes so well in her stories that you feel like her characters are friends and not fictional people. I highly recommend this book if you like a great story and a happy ending. Jay is a great guy and you also have the characters from her first book involved in this book. It is always nice when characters continue in a series. I can't wait to read the next book!!

Gail is used to doing things on her own after her divorce while raising her daughters. She doesn't want to dependent upon another man again. Jay Kincaid comes back to Redfish to become a doctor at a private practice. 5 years ago he almost let himself get carried away with the sister of his brothers new wife. Now that he's back in Redfish he really can't get Gail off his mind. I found this to be an absolute sweet romantic treat to read. I fell in love with Jay and Gail's story!

I received an Advance reader's copy of this book and am reviewing it voluntarily. I would recommend this book as a good read becausw it is. I loved how Gail and Jay flirted around each other and even after their convenient wedding. I loved how Jay adjusted to married life even if he was opposed to the very idea prior to hooking up with Gail. And i loved how he fought to keep his wife and kids..

Heartwarming! What an interesting and realistic story. It has drama, romance and some very real life challenges. The way the story line is written it keeps your interest from start to finish. The characters are well developed and likable. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading the others in the series.

Building a family together

Gail and Jay were always attracted to each other. Yet it took them a while to navigate their issues before they were able to build their stable loving relationship.

Good romance… I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. Gail has learned to be self-sufficient after her husband, Barry, left her and their two daughters five years ago. When Jay moves to town to partner in a clinic, he pursues Gail, but she is not sure due to his previous rejection and their families’ interaction. Soon after they start dating, Gail ends up pregnant. Jay persuades her to marry him, but it isn't always smooth sailing, especially with two daughters under foot. I enjoyed this book very much and quickly read it. It can be read as a standalone.
