Many Christians are fearful of engaging in conversations about their faith with Jewish people knowing that there are complex issues and suspicions that lie deep beneath the surface. And yet there are many points of contact, and much common ground.
This short book is designed to help both Christians and whole churches understand more about the variety of Jewish people we might work with, meet or know, and to reach out to them with the good news of the gospel. Written at a level that everyone can understand, this book emphasizes the importance of forming loving, honest and open relationships as part of the way we engage with our Jewish friends.
From Randy's website: "I want to pursue the integral (whole, unified, tied-together) nature of things. I see connections between ideas, common ground between people, and overlap where others see conflict. I see God’s fingerprints in all areas of life, not just the so-called religious ones.
I’ve had the privilege of serving in ministry on college campuses, at the Pentagon, in churches, and in various academic settings. My writing has opened doors to teach the Bible and to train people in communicating their faith in dialogical and respectful ways.
Some major influences in my life have been (in no particular order) C. S. Lewis, Francis Schaeffer, D. A. Carson, Tim Keller, Ralph Winter, George Elden Ladd, Dallas Willard, John Stott, George Marsden, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Victor Hugo, Antonin Dvorak, Abraham Joshua Heshel, Claude Monet, and the Marx Brothers. My highest priorities are loving God, advancing His kingdom, and loving my family.
You could say that some other big deals in my life are theology, Judaism, academia, literature, music, beauty, and laughter."

I saw this book series in January and was instantly intrigued and I started reading this specific book after meeting a Jewish student on campus soon after. This book provided me with such practical and helpful advice in how to engage with Jewish people, as well as broadening and deepening my understanding of both Jewish people as a whole and my faith as a follower of Jesus, the Messiah. I highly recommend this if you have any interest in building evangelistic relationships with Jewish people in your life!
This small little book is packed with tidbits of wonderful information. As believers we are all called to share the Good News but everyone we meet is different. This book will guide you when talking with Jewish people. From phrases to share or not, to common Jewish ideology and the messianic prophecies, this little nugget of a book has it all. Written extremely well and to the point. Not only do I feel more confident but also encouraged. Good read for all evangelism efforts.
I thought this was a short, informative and well laid out book on building real relationships with Jewish people, and how to effectively share Jesus with them in a way that resonates - similar to how Jesus Himself (and others in the new testament) shared the truth of the messiah through the Law and Prophets.
I've been a big fan of Randy Newman's writing ever since he wrote "Questioning Evangelism." If you're looking for a book on how to reach out to a Jewish friend, this is a fantastic resource. Funny, insightful, and full of testimonies. Loved it.
A great book! I enjoyed this book thoroughly. It's easy to read and written with a sense of humor. If you are trying to reach a Jewish person this book gives lots of good ideas and background information. It is a good place to start reading.
