केदार जी की कविताओं में जीवन जितना शहर का है उतना गाँव का भी. साथ ही इनकी कविताएँ हर स्तर और उम्र के पड़ाव पर खड़े पाठकों को समान रूप से भांति है. इन्हें पढ़े बिना या इनके लिखे हुए से गुज़रे बिना एक पाठक के साथ-साथ हिन्दी ज़बान के जानकार होने के नाते बहुत कुछ अधूरा रह जाएगा.

वह शब्दों को जिस तरह से झाड़-पोंछकर या स्मृतियों से निकाल कर लाते है. लाज़बाव है. जो हमारे ठेठ गँवई के साथ-साथ आधे-अधुरे शहरी होने के भ्रम को भी माँझता है. साथ ही हमारे शब्दकोश के साथ कविता के एक पाठक के तौर पर भी समृद्ध करता चलता है.

हर वक्त के साथ आज भी यह कविताएँ उतनी सार्थक नज़र आती है.

Ek yatra matrbhasha se baagh tak...sundar kitaab kuch kavitayen bahut achhi lagti hai."kailashpati nishad ki smriti me" "maine ganga ko dekha" "disha" "ek pariwarik prashna".Bahut kuch likha hai is ek choti si kitaab me kedarnath singh ka jeevan anubhav.

कच्चे और ख़ुदरे शब्दों का एक अजब जादू है केदारनाथ सिंह जी की कविताओं में।

उस आदमी को देखो, ईश्वर और प्याज़, तुम आईं, सुई और तागे के बीच में, शब्द, पिता के जाने पर, अड़ियल साँस, पर्वस्नान, 'नया गाँव' की बत्ती, एक पारिवारिक प्रश्न, प्रिय पाठक, मोड़ पर विदाई और अंत मे बाघ (केवल 9 खंड) मुझे छू गयी। बाघ के 9 खंडो में ही बिम्बो का जो विशिष्ट रूप मिलता है वो पूरी रचना को पढ़ने को उतेजित करता है।

This is my first introduction to the world of Kedarnath Singh.
And the poetry is exactly how I imagined it to be, simple in the language yet moving you from inside.
I look forward to reading more of his work.
