Be careful when purchasing

This book is filled with duplicate material from Keller's American Monster series (10 books). There is no additional information of any kind nor any updating. This is just a repackaging of previously published stories. I wish I'd known that prior to purchasing.

However, for the reader that is new to Robert Keller's many True Crime series, this is a very good introduction. The stories are compelling, easy to read and package a great amount of info in ten- or twelve-page spoonfuls. The serial killers here are almost all quite famous for their dreadful crimes. If you want to know just how crazy people can get, here you go.

Adroit Story Teller

Many of the books I read I do it with my ears. But during tricky circumstances I have to turn off the sound and let my eyes fly across the pages. This occurs when I'm in a long line at a store or in a quiet waiting room. Other times names are similar or I've heard something unbelievable and have to go back to check if what I just heard was indeed accurate.

I couldn't believe when I reached the end of this book. The stories flowed with the depth of information I've come to expect from R. Keller. It's so frustrating when time and again police traffic stop, calling a suspect in for questioning or ignoring red flags when they dealt with these creeps who weren't choirboys.

I don't like unsolved homicides and missing persons presumed deceased cases. I like resolution, even when hearing how much the victim suffered is hard to take. In both books in The Deadly Dozen set the serial killers were chosen based on partially the depravity of their crimes. I have to agree with the author on his selections.
