Life takes a turn for the better for Lauren and her nephew, Eddie, when they're lured to Shadow Point. A busybody cousin, two rascally witches, and a VERY unexpected ally play their parts in this sweet shifter short to give Lauren and Reid their HEA.
It was a good book all around but I did have trouble liking Reid at first. I understood why he was upset and all the heartache he did go through with his ex-wife. Ultimate betrayal there plus she took him to the financial cleaners and he basically lost everything. I get it. However, the way he treated Lauren at first was sorta inexcusable. What got my goat was he had every intention of using her to warm his bed for a few days and send her and Eddie on their way. Then he realized too late she was a virgin and her took her harshly and never apologized for hurting her. He did change his mind at that point and they both came clean about themselves and decided to marry anyways. Lauren was to blame as well...she should have told him. Fear overrode her though. It was hard for me to accept his turn around so quickly. I felt the story was rushed a little. I think they needed more time to let their feelings surface. This was different than all the other books in the series or I should say Reid and the circumstances were different. Should have been a bit longer to compensate the situation IMO. I still liked the book. Waiting for Damian to get his book though. :)
This is a beautiful love story . I read mail order bride and thought it was going to be boring and trite but I was wrong. The elements of this story were involved and interesting. The characters were like normal people just struggling to stay solvent. They had histories that were ugly and uncomfortable but the story took them through it. The story itself is well written and interesting.
I really enjoyed reading this story. Lauren and Reid both had pasts that has left a deep impression on them. They made a great couple, and once everything came out in the open they were able to work out their differences. I loved how things worked out with the Dire Wolves. That was a great ending. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.
Kindle Unlimited standalone book. She's hiding something when she comes to meet her perspective husband. He didn't want a mate until he tricked into letting her stay. The truth and more comes out in this story of what someone will do to protect the ones she loves.
A quick read, entertaining but expected as well. I think in time this author might have a lot more to offer. Good, quick book to pass a little time with.
These are always fun to read, always an adventure. I can't wait to see what comes next. The two little witches are so much fun and takes you on a wild ride.
