Praise for Roses Have Thorns“Good, long, satisfying… full of detail and good characterisation” Bella
I couldn't lay this book down I loved Reading it. Is one of these stories you wanted to get through to find out how it ended and when it . was finished you didn't want it to end.
I enjoyed this for the richness of the study on Edwardian life. It is a Cinderella story, or Beauty and the Beast, but the happy ever after is elusive which does give it a little more character. I enjoyed the read, but at times the main character just really made me want t reach out and shake her, tell her to grow up. Her husband also needed a hefty dose of getting over his own self pity. Sounds like I shoudl have hated it, but I didn't. The richness of its setting offset its deficiencies.
Good heard. Well written band fantastic detail on all fronts. Following the life of Amy was fascinatun even though at times I wanted to shake her and wake her up to reality... Well done Bev
About a young woman who w as born out of wedlock, was bullied by those around her but made a name for herself to be a ladies maid. However, things don't go to plan for her as she falls in love with an engaged Viscount and gets pregnant with his child. She marries the Viscount's stepfather to give her child a name however marriage to him was anything but happy. To me this story spoke volumes of wanting to be accepted and loved.
