Abdellatif Laâbi is a Moroccan poet, born in 1942 in Fes, Morocco.

Laâbi, then teaching French, founded with other poets the artistic journal Souffles, an important literary review in 1966. It was considered as a meeting point of some poets who felt the emergency of a poetic stand and revival, but which, very quickly, crystallized all Moroccan creative energies: painters, film-makers, men of theatre, researchers and thinkers. It was banned in 1972, but throughout its short life, it opened up to cultures from other countries of the Maghreb and those of the Third World.

Abdellatif Laâbi was imprisoned, tortured and sentenced to ten years in prison for "crimes of opinion" (for his political beliefs and his writings) and served a sentence from 1972-1980. He was, in 1985, forced into exile in France.[2]

Este pequeño libro reúne poemas de distintos autores con un único tema en común que es el clamor por su tierra desde el exilio forzado y los padecimientos de un mundo que ignora su diaspora y me refiero al mundo político cuyas acciones poco hacen para solucionar el asunto de las tierras ni que hablar la situación humanitaria. Esto se vuelca en poesía de dolor y melancolía, se habla de la tierra desde la lejanía, de los familiares fallecidos, del anhelo de volver, del sufrimiento diario. Casi no leo poesía así que desconozco el valor literario que pueda tener este libro pero claramente su peso radica por otro lado no menos importante.

Une sélection de grand auteurs pour des textes de qualité mais j'espère bientôt qu'on n'éditera plus jamais de poésie étrangère dans un recueil non-bilingue. N'avoir aucun accès aux poèmes originels dans leur langue, c'est ne pas avoir accès à toute sa poésie.

Me gusto mucho, te interpela por el lado del amor, el respeto y la lucha por la patria. Después aunque soy bastante ignorante para hablar del conflicto palestina/Israel sí me pareció que algunos poemas tenían un tono antisemitista ???.
Muy recomendable para incursionar en la poesía Palestina contada por ellos mismos.
