James Buchanan Barnes better known as Bucky or the Winter Soldier has lived many different lives. War hero, assassin, superhero, and now he's taken over for Nick Fury as the Man on the Wall. After the events of Standoff, Bucky freed some supervillains from Pleasant Hill and they are helping him protect the Earth from all threats...including SHIELD.
I was hoping this version of the Thunderbolts would be good and I must say issue #1 was enjoyable. Bucky has his hands full with his chosen team, but fortunately his hands seem skilled enough to handle it. The group certainly have all the necessary parts to be a devastating covert team. I like Bucky and he was good in this issue. I'm quite interested in the direction the story is currently heading.
I read a couple of comics every year so I decided to finally log them in good reads. Anyways I love Bucky and since the recent news of how Thunderbolts was being made into a movie I decided to pick this up. I wish it was the classic thunderbolts but I will live with this one. Moonstone was kinda a bitch but I also loved her. Like I don’t know how to describe it. Kobik is iconic and I totally want her powers. Learning that Karla was a psychiatrist was really cool because it sort goes with what I want to be. Bucky was looking mighty fine in some of the panels.

Great beginning to an interesting new team and storyline... Coming out of the shadows of Pleasant Hill comes this new team and they are unpredictable as all get out. Plus: They are dedicated to protecting and looking after the all-powerful, unpredictable, and some would say dangerous cosmic entity known as Kobic... What will happen next in this storyline? Oh, I can't wait to find out....
This was more interesting than I thought it was going to be. I kinda wished that Marvel had brought other characters from this Thunderbolts series to the big screen, I think it would have been fun as well. I really like the group dynamic and Kobik is so precious. She needs to be protected at all costs 🥹
