The first chapter of this unlikely friendship comes to an epic conclusion! The Killer Folk have the Nightstone, the key to curing Lunella's Inhuman gene! Devil Dinosaur is trapped in the Museum of Natural History! Lunella Lafayette must decide between saving her new best friend...or saving her own humanity!
What I imagined her mother replied with: "Ok, sure, honey! You're only nine but I'm a bad parent so I'll listen to you instead of making sure you're at home safe. Maybe your dad and I will make a date night out of it so we can both be absent parents!"
What a fantastic conclusion to an all around brilliant collection of issues. This was full of sass, intelligence and humour and I've loved every minute of it. I can't believe what happened at the end but it sets a wonderful premis for volume 2, which I will definitely try to read as a whole bind-up, rather than single issues. This has been a unique and amazing story with our very inspiring and young protagonist and her funny and clueless sidekick! Bring on volume 2! I look forward to my reading of it.
This should be required reading for kids, actually. For all the kids who felt they were different and for the parents that didn't realize their kid just wants to be themselves. Sure, it's a fantastical story, but it's amazing and comes into its own.
I love that Moon Girl got to speak her mind and get her mother to finally have enough faith in her that she can get the job done. That Moon Girl can do her! And everything will be good.
But oh the ending!! How sad!! At least I'm binging these and can find out what happens in just a few more minutes.
Totally thinking about buying this collection for a friend for xmas.
