This is actually really good. Talks a lot about confidence and body language. Useful stuff for an interview. Going to listen to it a few more times to really get it into my head.

This book helps me to get get out of my own way with interviews. I have so little experience with interviewing that I genuinely don't know what I'm supposed to say. In the past I've spent way too long thinking about my answers to try to figure out what the interviewer wants to hear. This book really helped me to understand that I should be myself and do what I can to prepare.

Ultimately, this book could have been a pamphlet.

The first quarter of the book: make sure your words, tone, and body language all match.

The second quarter of the book: come prepared and always keep in mind the key messages the interviewer should remember about you.

The third quarter of the book: be aware of the perception of your appearance.

Last quarter: recap.

This is a brief and valuable resource for those looking for advice on interviewing. Given it's short length it covers a lot with little extra detail or examples. Highly recommend as a refresher or as a 101 book on interviewing.

I am actually pleasantly surprised about this book: while many articles and books talk about the same things, The Freeway Guide Nailing the Job Interview gives some fresh tips and new takes. This book is definitely worth it, if you are looking for a job and trying to do better at interviews.

I do not see the actual selection for this book read; hearing it on audio via OverDrive (audiobook on laptop). I have a current interview coming up and want to win in the interview. I know my nerves can sometimes get the best of me, but want to be well-prepared. I loved "voice" which equates with tone, body language, words, and confidence all combined. I have learned how to master this but will still practice in the mirror. She had performance key points which could be helpful as well, and I know I will be in front of a panel and have up to 15 minutes to practice the questions in advance.

Side note: One thing that none of these books will suggest is prayer! I have been praising for this opportunity, now got others praying that this is my job! I can finally get a state job and in a library are two key pieces I definitely want this upcoming interview to win in my favor, to get the job! I am also reading other books to assist in this matter.

I envision myself at this job; this does work as she stated on the audio! I really loved her tone, voice, and confidence delivered in the audio; she gave some tips I may have done or familiar with but saying your "name" during the interview was a great tip. Instead of using "I" all the time to explain your scenarios. Of course, be energized during the interview. (Take control of the interview...hmmm...I used to be like that in my early 20s, but later asked my boss why did you hire me? Yet he told me nicely how to do better on my interviewing and took heed to the critique back in the mid-2000s). Sometimes we do have to take a pregnant pause, ask them to rephrase the question if you didn't get it the first time, etc.

This was simple and quick and fun! I hope to knock them out on Wednesday!
