I bought this book in 2003 as a lesbian in my early 20s looking forward to becoming a parent in a few years time. At the time it felt groundbreaking and inspirational. Hearing the stories of real love people who had embarked on this journey felt so important to me. I have re-read occasional chapters over the years and still very much enjoyed them. It helped me to be able to imagine my place in the world as a lesbian parent. I now have an 18 year old and a 9 year old and the world has moved on so much but I will always keep this book on my shelf.
