Made for Him

Rate this book
After dumping her cheating boyfriend, Jessica Simmons takes the dark and dangerously handsome high-powered billionaire, Matteo Moretti, home from the bar for a healthy dose (or five) of getting-over-breakup sex. Even though it’s the hottest night of her life, Jessica resolves to let a fling be a fling and move on. She has her career and enough self-respect to know she doesn’t need a man.

Until she finds out she’s pregnant with Matteo’s baby.

Though she doesn’t expect him to be exactly thrilled with the situation, he surprises her with his fierce need to love and protect them both, and soon she’s imagining a future with her once one-night-stand. But then secrets are exposed, and Jessica learns that Matteo’s world is not the haven she’d once thought it was.

Soon caught in the middle of a terrifying tug-of-war between rival criminals, she’s faced with a tumultuous decision of who to forgive and who to trust – and it might not be the father of her baby.

WARNING! If you love insta-love, super-dee-duper steamy sex that’s a little rough around the edges, and a heart-swelling, cheesy-sauce HEA, then you’re in for a treat!

Matteo Moretti is the HOT new dirty-talking, mafia boss in town.

Jessica, deciding to have a ONS after a break up with her boyfriend, meets Matteo at a bar and he goes home with her. Neither can forget the other. When Jessica has a nice little surprise, she meets up with Matteo to discuss options. What then ensues is
Desk sex

Car sex

Shower sex

This book was definitely not lacking in the sex department. Throw in some suspense and action with a sweet epilogue and you have pretty good story. My biggest complaint is that it ended at 64% on my Kindle app. I was really disappointed because I wanted more. It would have been a solid 5 star read for me if it had been longer. These two were smoking HOT! There was a bonus story included but I did not read it.

This was a surprisingly good book considering it's length. It had a lot going on, but the plot didn't feel rushed. Both characters were well written. Matteo Moretti was sexy as fuck. I do wish she would have stayed angry with him for a bit longer than she did. I like that type of angst and would have liked to see Matteo have to work a bit harder to get her back, but that was just a small issue.

Overall I loved this one.

I just could not get into this couple. Then the later reveals about the hero totally finished hiim off for me. It was an ok read, but yet another example of the heroine letting the hero off the hook for being an epic douche! The curse of the magic peen strikes again!

short and steamy with a bit of suspense - I enjoyed this one. A bit predictable but a good pick if you want a quick book with a lot of sexy scenes.

For being on the shorter side, this story had a lot going on. Matteo was a hottie for sure and he was devoted to the h. I was a little worried that things were going south for a few pages but he came through for me lol safe steamy read. No cheating, the only om/ow drama was her ex trying to cause problems for them but he was stopped. A few twist that were easy to predict. A decent epilogue that made you unable to resist loving the couple.

Fantastic book with super possessive and obsessive H. There were a lot of HOT sex scenes in this book. My only complaint is that the book ends at 65%.

Oh Lordy, that was one sexy mob boss. And perhaps the best response to a pregnancy announcement, ever.

“Show me where my baby is.” His sudden coolness has vanished and lust flares in his eyes...“My baby’s inside of you,” he says, his other hand running up my leg and gripping my thigh. “My baby.”

Despite its shorter length, it still managed to have an interesting story and characters and crack me up at the same time. I mean, here's a real concern... (*smirk*)

"What if he’s into some weird shit, like flogging girls or making homemade kombucha?"

Jessica forgave Matteo a little faster than I would have, but with the extreme situation it was a little was a little easier to move past.

"...after he lays me on his dining room table and fucks the shit out of me, he cleans me up and goes to find some of the peppermint tea he bought because he read about it in the baby book. The idea of Matteo reading a baby book of his own free will is so fucking hot to me."

2 almost-dnf stars..

Not sure how this happened. I mean, it was supposed to be a sweet, short Mafia romance. All things I crave and yet.. I don't know. The start actually put me off the whole book, that I honestly flipped through it, just in order to get to the end.

Definitely hot. A no-brainer on both accounts of the hero and heroine, but still hot. Didn't have the feel of a mafia book. felt like it skipped a whole part to reach where it actually started.

Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted.

Jessica Simmons needed a one night rebound and she found it with Matteo Moretti. Weeks later, Jessica finds out that she is pregnant. Having to tell Matteo is going to be a father, is not on Jessica's want to do list but she knows he deserves to know.

Matteo has been thinking of Jessica since they had their one night together. Matteo is delighted to be a father and wants Jessica by his side. For Jessica though it sounds it is to good to be true, but Matteo is determined to prove to Jessica that he is serious and has no plans on letting her go. Past rivals though their is more to Matteo than meets the eye and will Jessica be able to accept him for who he is?

This was fun but I think I would have liked a bit more development between Jessica and Matteo. They are kind of insta-love but not at the same time. Enjoyable story.

This book was hard for me to rate. Had very mixed feelings. It was good, in that the book drew me in and I couldn't put it down. Loved that there was no ow/om drama. It was more of a dark/dysfunctional romance. Loved that the H was tough and protective - would literally take a bullet for the h. However, he had an unsavory/unhonorable side I had trouble reconciling with. He did not mind using an innocent person in unconscionable ways. So he was not, imo, a good bad guy. The h was sweet, but irresponsible and didn't seem to have much of a backbone. He was very demanding, she was not. I ended up not really caring for either H or h. Days later I am still thinking about the book (does not happen often). Had great potential, but fell short for me. Loved parts, hated other parts.

This is my first book by Rae Lynn Blaise and it was really good although it was short so it did feel a bit rushed but the story line was very good. Jessica just dumped her cheating boyfriend and she's at the bar looking for a one night stand. She takes Matteo Moretti, a rich, high powered businessman home with her. The two of them have the best sex of their lives and they both can't stop thinking about each other. A few weeks later Jess finds out she's pregnant and since they didn't exchange numbers she has to track him down at his office. She is shocked when she tells Matteo and he actually seems happy and excited about her pregnancy. Why would a man she had amazing sex with a couple of times in one night be happy about having a baby with her ?

I would have given this book 5 stars but it absolutely drives me nuts when a book ends at 70% and you have a ton of other books or sneak peaks at the end of the book. A sneak peak of the next book or another book by the author is fine but not a whole book or several first chapters.

I thought this story would be different, I figured the H would be bullying the h to be with him and she'd be resisting but she pretty much went "yeah baby, I'm game". Not complaining though.
There was a twist in the story that made it interesting.

Major spoilers, don't read unless you want the 'twist' revealed to you. Contains strong language and a pissy attitude 'cause I'm feeling a little .. disgruntled.

I made the mistake of reading this without checking out more details beforehand, once I'd seen it was considered safe, I went ahead which probably makes sense to most people but I'm picky and sensitive and therefore now a little irritated and pissy.

It wasn't a great story to start with but I wanted something slightly cheesy with a criminal element and basically no bullshit. Turns out this is riddled with bullshit. First off there was a few things that niggled at me throughout the beginning of the book, just small things but things nonetheless. I didn't feel the connection between the MC's at all, all I could think was that if she hadn't gotten pregnant then they would have never have seen each other again. I didn't see the feelings, only the lust and 'sexual hunger'. It was too fast and not believable in the slightest. The heroine was one of 'those ones' that melt at the sight of the heroes eyes or his naked chest and become disgustingly compliant and brainless.

Now for the thing that made my DNF; the heroine finds out at about 40% that the hero knocked her up on purpose as a revenge/power move against the heroines uncle who's secretly a leader of a criminal organisation that deals in a lot of things but most importantly, the sale of underage girls and boys. (It's also revealed the uncles promised/sold her to be married to her ex boyfriend who cheated on her) There's this big reveal where the uncle, the hero and the heroine are all in her apartment and she's devastated to find out the man she loves was using her blah blah blah, fucking ridiculous if you ask me. (Can you tell I'm pissy?) She does what I would do, (short of killing them both) and decides to leave with her unborn baby and she doesn't even get inside her car before the hero is there and one kiss is all it takes to have her giving in. oh lord what a stupid doormat heroine we've been gifted. Anyway they end up fucking against her car and then there's a shootout and she's kidnapped. DNF.

I feel like I've grown up a little on my short time here on Goodreads and I've made the conscious decision to be more accepting of what authors choose to write, because obviously it's people's own preferences so I'm not mad at the author, I'm mad at myself for not doing more research before reading (even if it meant having to see spoilers because that is my reading experience these days...). Maybe this book turns around in some miracle way and that's why people enjoyed it but there's no mistake (unless the heroine wakes up and realised this whole shit show is a dream) that the hero purposely impregnated the heroine as a power move to get back at his rival and gain power in his criminal empire, imo its sick and not a hero I want to fall in love with, or even lust after. There's no way I could respect the heroine in any way if she was have a future with the hero, the only way I could have appreciated the rest of this story was if she either got the fuck out of dodge and created a new life for her and her child or become a badass psycho bitch assassin and shown those two controlling, disgusting men that she had her own power. (Away from them) I'm not holding out hope for either of my suggestions coming true so I'll dnf to save myself the irritation of seeing the heroine have a HEA with a man who used her and her body and additionally created another human being like a bloody test tube experiment for the sole purpose of having the figuratively bigger dick. Smut or otherwise, not the book for me.

I apologise for the 'messiness' and probably shocking grammar and random words spouted in this review, it's one of those times when I need to rant but can't find the effort to take my time when the books (imo) not worth it. Also what's with all the brackets?

I actually ended up liking this book quite a bit, although I do wish we had gotten to see a little more of Matteo's POV throughout the book, as well as some dialogue and interaction between the H and h other than sex. Also, the whole Nate scene seemed a little bit extra. I thought it was there as a lead-in to a violent rescue scene but was actually an escape scene so it was kind of anticlimatic after all of the buildup and fear and disgust. It definitely would have felt more resolved for me if it had been a rescue that resulted in his death but apparently Matteo never finished him off for daring to touch his woman which was a little bit of a letdown for me.

The author writes the main character to be a pawn to both strong male characters. She also has this character, Jessica, pick the lesser of two evils in the climatic scene. The book i also read i had an addition book at the end that has the main character ,Erica, being a pawn between two very powerful men. I enjoyed reading both books and look forward to reading more from this author

premeditated forced pregnancy? fuck that shit.

so while there were plenty of parts of this that were comparable to any silly, smutty read...that aspect combined with how Jessica basically didn't mind once she found out? added to that the fact Matteo did it to punish her uncle, and Jessica was 'collateral'.

fuck that shit.
