Frisky Beavers #1

Prime Minister

Rate this book
A kinky Prime Minister, a vanilla intern, and a scandal that shouldn't feel so right or cost so much.

Gavin:
Ellie Montague is smart, sensitive, and so gorgeous it hurts to look at her. She’s also an intern in my office. The office of the Prime Minister of Canada. *
That’s me. The PM.
She calls me that because when she calls me Sir, I get hard and she gets flustered, and as long as she’s my intern, I can’t twist my hands in her strawberry-blonde hair and show her what else I’d like her to do with that pretty pink mouth. **

Ellie:
How much I like the PM varies on a daily basis. He’s intense, controlling, and a perfectionist in every way — and he demands the same of his staff.
How much I want him never wavers.
There’s something about him that tugs at me deep inside, and makes me wish that just once he’d cross the line in a late night work session. I’d take that secret to the grave if it meant I got a taste of the barely restrained beast inside him. ***

FOOTNOTES:
* This is a fictional romance. No prime ministers or interns were harmed in the making of this book.
** Except it’s a kinky romance, so they were hurt a little.
*** Spoiler alert: she gets more than a taste. And she likes it.

I'm putting this one on hold for now.
Sadly, it's boring me.
And I'm having a hard time buying into the story line for some reason.
I Just can't imagine an intern having that much access and becoming that intrinsic to the PM's team that fast.
I think it's my mood in this case, so I will try again later.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Prime Minister sex?

Sounds fancy, count me in.

"Before you I wasn't a whole man. I was all these different pieces, and I couldn't imagine how they'd ever align. I put as many together as I could and pretended that was how it was supposed to be."

"Turns out I needed your pieces, too. You complete the edges of my puzzle and fill in the gaps in the middle, too."

I have discovered a new type of alpha male that gets my temperature rising. A devilishly gorgeous, kinky as hell, leader of a nation!! Ainsley Booth and Sadie Haller have succeeded in delivering a downright steamy and all-consuming story. From the moment the buzz started to spread on social media regarding this book, I had been dying to get my hands on it and boy did it deliver on so many levels. I haven’t felt so utterly turned on by a story in a while. Ladies, get ready to have your worlds rocked by Mr. Gavin Strong, Prime Minister of Canada!!

Ellie Montague, a grad student at the University of Ottawa, has landed the most prized internship in all of Canada. She will be working at the headquarters of the Prime Minister. She’s just a little bit giddy over her new opportunity as she has a serious crush on the PM, not unlike most of the female population of Canada. On their first meeting, sparks are definitely flying, but Gavin tries to reel in his feelings because of his role in government, their age difference, and more importantly, his kinky sexual nature. The PM of Canada is into the BDSM scene. He’s not into the hardcore aspect but he most definitely likes to be in control and loves to dole out a spanking when the mood calls for it!! The Prime Minister likes to get his kink on and is one seriously giving lover. There was one scene in particular, a menage, that will remain in my memory for quite some time. Not only did I love Gavin for his baser sexual side, but I also loved him for his tenderness towards Ellie. He was always trying to protect Ellie from the celebrity of his role as the Prime Minister.

 photo 19236128._SY540__zps8axstrgj.jpg

The one challenge to their budding relationship is how it will be portrayed by the media and the effect on Gavin’s government standing. It is actually Ellie who worries the most of how her relationship with Gavin could cause serious damage and feels that they should hold off from going public. Surprisingly enough, Gavin is not of the same mindset as Ellie. He’s crazy about her and does not want to hide his relationship because she has become a very special and important part of his life.

This was my favorite by Ainsley Booth and it’s my first time reading anything written by Sadie Haller, but she is now an author that is on my radar. These two are an incredible writing duo. I only wished that we got just a little more out of the ending. I am still left wanting more of Gavin and Ellie’s story, but the next book will be about Max, Gavin’s best friend. I know Max’s story is going to be melting panties everywhere as he is also into the BDSM scene and is kinkier than the PM, and the wait is going to be excruciating!!

PRIME MINISTER will be available on May 31st!! Be sure and one-click it. I promise you will not be disappointed!!

The writing is good. The hero is hot and likable. The heroine is okay.

But I couldn't connect. I couldn’t get into the story no matter how hard I tried. On top of that, I didn’t feel a thing.

Obviously, this is another “it’s not you, it’s me” case. Don’t let my review deter you from giving this book a try. You may love it, a lot of readers did.

"It's not about satisfying a specific kink, Ellie, it's about finding the woman that makes me want to satisfy her kinks"

➦We have a Prime Minister of Canada with a Compulsive Spankng Disorder and his incredibly smart and perceptive intern. Now, once you get past the fact that this scenario is pretty unrealistic and allow yourself into the fantasy, you might actually end up enjoying it.

➦Gavin, our PR, is a kinky man who likes control. I was actually surprised that he first declared him and Ellie not compatible.

➦Being as perceptive as she is, Ellie figures out that PR is into some kinky fuckery.

➦As much emphasis as there was put on BDSM, I didn't find this to be very hardcore... sure, there's spanking for pleasure, light bondage and role play but nothing degrading.

➦I was actually surprised Gavin made so much fuss about it in the first place. Could have just slept with her and introduced her to BDSM later. But then again, we're forgetting that he suffers from a Compulsive Spankng Disorder.

❤There's a rather slow beginning to this novel and I started zoning out but then half way in an extra pair of hands was introduced and that got my attention.

But I'm a perv, so if you're not into that kind of stuff this might not be your thing.

❤But if it is your thing... I recommend you have a husband/boyfriend/friendly neighbor on stand-by. Or at the very least a vibrator. lol

➦Now, the things that didn't work... The book needed to be shorter by about 20%. I got bored reading about constant travels and work meeting and blah blah blah. I get it, he works a lot. Something just didn't flow right. This book lost me at 80%. Shit needed to hit the fan earlier in the book. I still finished it but I wasn't invested in the characters anymore.

➦I was also rather unimpressed by the fact that last chapter was told by a secondary character and was basically a set-up for a second book in the series. I feel like Max needed to be introduced more
through interaction with Gavin rather than through dumping info onto the reader at the end of the story... I would have preferred more subtlety there. The ending felt very abrupt, I would have loved to read an epilogue.

➦Recommended for those who are into kinky fuckery, office romance & have a lot of patience. :P

Mum and Dad, don’t look…I’m talking Frisky Beavers

I love my Mum and Dad and they love me. They love me so much that they follow my blog and read everything I write which makes facing my Dad kinda awkward. Some days I catch up with them and the first thing my Dad says is – “What kind of bloody rubbish are you reading?” Obviously, this is not rubbish to me but to a 70-year-old blokey bloke, he doesn’t like to read about my hearts aflutter or that a book was HOT. Well, this time, I think this book and my review will definitely push him over the edge. Prime Minister had hearts aflutter, was one of the HOTTEST books I’ve read this year…AND…it was KINKY!!

This story is about a couple of people who are extremely attracted to each other but are in a situation that is not conducive to a relationship. It doesn’t help that any relationship they form could end up in the spotlight. See, when you’re a single, good looking and relatively young Prime Minister, and you have a desire to spank your partner…things can get awfully messy. If that Prime Minister also falls for a smart and intelligent INTERN...well that’s beyond messy, that’s SCANDALLOUS.

Now, this is the sort of kinky I really, really enjoy. This isn’t a couple of people walking into a dungeon and getting off on the extreme emotions generated from a little kinky play. Prime Minister is about an experienced man, Gavin Strong, who likes to dominate, has to hide his predilections because of his career and has only one person he can confide in about his frustrations. Ellie Montague has had a crush on the Prime Minister for awhile. She’s not only attracted to his physical attributes, Ellie is fascinated with his mind. She respects him and is impressed with the way he has embraced his new role of leading her country. When the two of them meet, the sparks fly. Both of them know it is not an ideal situation (think Monica Lewinsky) and try to push each other away. Unfortunately, the more they try to resist, the more their attraction grows.

Seriously, this book was good. It was believable, yet heartbreaking to see what a man in power must overcome to have a happy life outside of his work. In some ways, I think it’s understandable for a relationship to develop within a party office. Not everyone is willing to take a back step to politics, war and financial debates. You have to be a special kind of Frisky Beaver to understand that your partner does have other things on their mind when you’re sitting down to dinner. What made Prime Minister special is because we get to see into Gavin’s mind, the turmoil he goes through every time he has to pick his country over his girlfriend.

Prime Minister was a bit longer than I thought it would be. I assumed it would be a bit of smutty fun with the Prime Minister bumping uglies with his intern at his desk, or her taking notes dressed in nothing but a smile. Turns out I got it all wrong. The kinky stuff was minor to the actual story of Gavin and Ellie. Yes, I still got a giggle out of their role-playing, and was extremely “interested” in some of their other play, but like I said it wasn’t just that. There is a love story and it was very sweet. I loved that Gavin loved to hold Ellie in his lap to cuddle. It made my heart flutter that he found it hard not to be touching her when they were near each other. I admired Ellie for trying to save Gavin’s career by stepping away from him…but I loved it more that Gavin wouldn’t allow it.

So, Prime Minister was definitely a winner for me. For crikey sakes Dad, if you did read this review, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

4 'Would You Be My Girl' Stars!

I've been wanting to read this for quite some time and it was definitely a good read! I've read Ainsley Booth's books before so I knew this would be hot AF. Boy, it was that and so much more!

Prime Minister is the first installment in the Frisky Beavers series that Ainsley is co-writing together with Sadie Haller. It tells the forbidden love story between Gavin (the Prime Minister of Canada) and Ellie (one of his very-young interns).

“Gavin. You can call me Gavin.”
“I’m pretty sure I can’t,” I laugh, turning my head to the side in embarrassment.
“You need to, because this sir thing is killing us both and it’s only been a week.”

Holy hell, this was intense! So freaking sexy and on the kinky side, for sure. Gavin is a Dom and Ellie loves to be his bad girl ;) I loved the characters and the presentation of the love story: as I said, their chemistry is off-the-charts but it's also mixed with some drama and sweetness.

"You're bent over my bed, dripping wet because I'm spanking you. And you like it."
Another whisper.
My cock throbs as I lean over her. "What was that?"
"I love it," she says more clearly.

I’m so lost. I don’t know how I got here, and I have no interest in finding my way back to wherever it is I was.

Still I have to say I did not enjoy how Ellie behaves when . If you follow me, you probably know I am not a major fan of those types of scenes but this particular one made me feel a little uncomfortable. Also, I found the ending a little bit rushed (I always miss having epilogues! lol).

This is love, and it’s forever.

Besides that I really enjoyed Prime Minister and I am totally excited to read all the other stories! So, my rating is 4 STARS because I found this a very good start to this exciting series!

My friend posted about this book a few weeks ago on Facebook, so I immediately preordered it. I decided to start it ASAP when a few of my fellow bloggers loved it. Well, I loved it too!

This book is a fantastic story of forbidden love. He is the Prime Minster and she is an intern. She is a 25 year old graduate student, he is thirteen nine years old. OMG, this book, could it get any better?? Well it actually can, here’s why.

This book which sounds perfectly smutty and hey I am not complaining, but it is actually more! I loved the plot and writing. Yes, it’s hot as hell, but it’s also really sweet at times. It has these moments that made me fall in love with Gavin and Ellie. I loved how the authors really allowed us to get to know them as people and see their connection. I loved how it didn’t follow the typical forbidden love theme and allowed so much time for Ellie and Gavin to really be together.

It also had these moments that had me rereading passages. It literally is the perfect fun summer read. It’s fun, sexy and full of heart. I swear I cannot even wait until the next book in the series, I am completely sold!

I'm bored. And my mind is constantly wandering away from what I'm reading because this. book. drags. Even after the introduction of an "extra pair of hands" in the boudoir... yep, still boring.

description

No Bueno. Plus, I'm not buying this storyline even in fiction land. I have no problem being whisked away to a fantasy land where things are far less than realistic, but this... this was beyond even my ability to overlook the glaring "pfft... yeah, right" sign flashing in my mind.

description

I really didn't care for the MCs either. The "BDSM" aspect of this book is quite light for all the hullabaloo it was given at the beginning of this book. I mean, so the H has a little spanky-panky control thing going on... um, okay . And, the Prime Minister just happens to have surrounded himself unknowingly with like-minded individuals via his security detail and a pick-up hockey game. I mean... come on.

description

Look... maybe you are one of those readers who can get past all the unrealistic in this book... plenty of people clearly have been able to. If that's you, then I say jump in with both feet and give it a whirl. I, however, will not be picking this one back up. This book is a hard stop on the snore-ville train for me.

5+++ ~One Kiss Is Never Enough~ Stars*****

(ARC kindly provided by Author)
(BR with my besties, Patty and Mel)

Just like one kiss wasn't enough for Gavin when it came to his Ellie; 5 stars isn't enough for me to convey how much I, LOVED this novel.
The collaboration of these two authors was seamless and exquisite, bringing us a book that promises a fabulous start to a very delicious, and entertaining series. Step into the office of the Prime Minister, but leave your panties by the door, and be ready for a wicked good time...

The new sexy Prime Minister of Canada has every woman on the planet going crazy, not only is he smart and capable, but utterly sexy and... single.

Ellie Montague is the new intern for the PM. She's a graduate student, very smart and with a lot of credentials and she has been offered a two month internship next to the sexy Prime Minister. On their initial meeting Ellie can prove for herself that everything that she's heard about the PM is true; he is a perfectionist, and always in control. But his beauty is even more striking in person, than she ever thought.

Ellie and Gavin begin working closely together, they make a good team but the sexual tension is so strong it scares them both. The PM has a big job to do and doesn't really have a lot of time for a personal life, and his tastes in the sexual department are less than vanilla. Ellie's ovaries explote on a daily basis, every time the PM talks to her or so much looks her way, she needs a new change of panties.

One night the desire is too strong and the inevitable happens; a kiss so passionate neither Gavin or Ellie can deny that there's something more than something sexual brewing between them. The PM tries to warn Ellie, about his peculiar tastes, but little did he know that when she's around him a bad girl she didn't know existed comes to life, craving the sexual power that only the PM can provide.

Can these two delve into a decadent passion without risking everything they've worked so hard for?

What a delicious treat, reading this book was. This story is meant to be savored, it is so delicious that it will tease every single one of your senses and of course, leave you desperate for more.

I loved the writing style. I loved how complex and unique the characters were. Both Gavin and Ellie are very strong but they fit so perfectly together. I was equally enthralled by both main characters. This book was a perfect read for me, had a lot of romance, tons of kinky passion and the political background added a certain elegance to the story that served as the cherry on top for a story that almost melts in your mouth. The The Prime Minister was PERFECTION!!!

Ellie starts working in the Prime Minister's office as part of her summer internship. She knew the job would be a challenge, but she never thought that the hardest part of her time there would be holding herself back from throwing herself at the PM. He's ia tough boss, a bit of a control freak, and sexy as hell when he get's all intense. Ellie want's him, bad. And when she realizes that he wants her just as much, there's no way she can stop herself from trying to get him.

I really liked this book and how captivated I was during my reading. Ellie and Gavin had great chemistry that was amazing to see while they were trying to fight it. And when they finally gave in to those feelings it was hot as hell. Gavin was secretly into the BDSM scene, and while the story wasn't heavily into anything too kinky, I really liked his Dom side.

Overall, a good, sexy story that I think any fan of boss-employee romances will enjoy. We also got to learn a little about Gavin's best friend too, and his story will be next. Which I'm very much looking forward to.

First of all, this is a really hot book. Gavin is the sexy gentleman we all want at home and Ellie is for sure the Canada’s sweetheart.

“Gavin. You can call me Gavin.”
“I’m pretty sure I can’t,”
I laugh, turning my head to the side in embarrassment.
“You need to, because this sir thing is killing us both and it’s only been a week.”

Their love is the sweetest kind (the way I like it) with all her sass and his playfulness. Gavin is a delicious dominant, he’s not a sadist (he actually just uses his hands to spank her) and is really caring and sweet. And Ellie is a smart and innocent intern that works for her all-time crush.

"You're bent over my bed, dripping wet because I'm spanking you. And you like it."
Another whisper.
My cock throbs as I lean over her. "What was that?"
"I love it,"
she says more clearly.

The only problem for me with this book was
Overall the book is good, so if you like kinky sex without the heavy stuff and with lots of sexy love this is the book for you.

“No, when it comes to Ellie I have zero game. I'm the classic lovesick idiot.”

Happy reading!

Review @ Vanilla & Spice Books

3 Frisky Stars

Who doesn't love a forbidden romance spiced with a little bit of kink? I know I do, so I had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately, for me it didn't keep its promise. But from the beginning.

Gavin Strong is Canada's new Prime Minister. He is young, gorgeous and popular with the people. What the public doesn't know is that he likes his sex with some BDSM kink. When the new intern enters the scene his mind fill with all kinds of desires, one of them being spanking Ellie's ass pink.

With Bill Clinton's Lewinsky-disaster on his mind he forbids himself to even think about anything sexual involving his subordinate.

Ellie is shy and awkward. She has had a crush on the new PM for a while, needless to say, she is super exited to be able to work with him. Gavin gives her mixed signals and anyway, why would he pursue the shy girl when he can have all of the female population of Canada?

After having read for a while I checked my progress in the book and realized that I had hardly moved from the beginning. It felt like I had read for hours...and this is one of the main problems I had with this story. It trickled along without a lot of things happening to move it forward.

I also had some issues with the main characters. While both of them were very likable nothing seemed to fit together. Gavin was supposed to be a Dom. To me he felt more like a regular, nice guy who liked some light BDSM in order to not get bored in the sack. Ellie went from shy and awkward to a super seductress in the blink of an eye. One moment she flushed at everything Gavin said, the next she was this extremely confident woman. The transformation was too seamless. There were other quibbles I had - like why Gavin was so weird after the threesome. He wanted to fulfill Ellie's fantasy, yet, afterwards he needed distance because he couldn't deal with his possessive nature. That didn't work for me.

Despite all my quibbles, Gavin and Ellie both were sweet and caring and had great chemistry. I really wanted to love the story, it became a "like" after all. There was some funny banter between main and secondary cast, which still made the book worth reading.

Talk about seamless, I felt there was a distinct difference in the two authors' writing - at least during the first 30, 40%. It wasn't as homogeneous as I've seen with other cooperating authors. Maybe this won't be as obvious in the next installment. Otherwise the writing style was quite good.

I know this book worked for other readers really well so don't let my opinion keep you from trying it. It is a sweet story after all. There were some very cute moments between our main cast and the sex was mostly off the charts hot.

Although this wasn't my favorite book of the year I do want to read more of this author duo. The last chapter is from Gavin's best friend Max's POV and introduces us to his story and I definitely want to read this! And finally there is Lachlan who I can't wait to read about!

**safety notes added**

If you came across any of my status updates for this you probably already know that this certainly turned my 'Beaver' frisky (Yes, I really did just say that). Said eager beaver would really like to munch on the Prime Minister's trouser snake. Okay, I'll stop, I'm not sure what I was trying to do there.

Forget that whole top part, clearly I have issues.

Let me start this (so called) review with some advice -

Read this when you have either -
a) a usable male specimen nearby or
b) some time for a 'private workout' (that's my polite way of saying masturbation)

description

Because this was hot. So hot that all my windows steamed up and I could have done with a cigar to smoke, never mind a cigarette. It was like eating a big juicy steak after having limp lettuce all week. Satisfying.

Let's just mention the threesome that wasn't really a proper threesome, but was still hot. I said it before and I'll say it again -if I had a penis, you'd be able to hammer in fence posts with it after that scene. The voyeur in me was salivating

And it wasn't JUST the hot sex that was satisfying. The political setting, the sexual tension, the forbidden aspect, the love, devotion and possessiveness of Gavin and the little bit of angst near the end; everything worked for me.

My only complaint would be that it did slow down for a bit and I felt it could have been shortened down a little. There was a whole bundle of sex and then, well, just a section of mundaneness.

Also, if you're not normally into BDSM you should still give this a go. It was light. Some spanking (which was for pleasure, not punishment) and two scenes were she is lightly restrained.

All round, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

4 - "Oddly, Sir never did it for me until I met you. I like it... A lot."
Stars!

Prime Minister is one of those books that pretty much does what it says on the tin. You know what I mean, you know what you are going to get from the beginning, and the authors went large on delivering everything on offer to its fullest most outlandish best.

To be honest this was a bit of a ‘Mix & Match’ read, the authors took a bunch of popular current and well-used tropes, and spun them differently by making the story revolve around a man, that on the surface has to be whiter than white.

"She’s a scandal I just can’t afford."

I didn’t mind that, even if a lot of it felt like de-ja-vu from other books I have read from this genre, it was well written and both the main characters were easy to get along with and pretty likeable.

"I spend a lot of time with a hard-on around you."

Prime Minister was essentially a sexed up version of The West Wing, which to this day is still one of my favorite TV Shows, the cast of secondary characters is again on the likeable scale, and it was great to read a book where I didn’t actually want to punch anyone in the face for being or acting like a tool.

"You’re definitely more than just an intern."

The slow burn between them at the beginning was great, plenty of tension and sexual frustration for them both, add to the fact the PM, and Ellie are both worried about the potential scandal involved with him being caught boffing one of his interns, but lust eventually wins out, and once uglies are bumped there is literally no stopping them. I must admit I have realized from reading this that I absolutely prefer my politics with a large side order of sex, and once it got going there was literally no stopping them.

"This is just the start… I never want to stop fucking you."

I don’t really class a bit of spanking and a couple of instances of tying up BDSM, to be honest we were looking at a man that may have dabbled in that arena in his college days but now is just a bit on the dominant side. The one thing that miffed me hugely is the addition of

"Am I in trouble offi-Sir?"

This was one step too far for me, especially as it took place after they had spent a relatively short time together as a couple. I know its fiction, but firstly it just seemed all sorts of stupid for a Prime Minister to engage in something like that with a woman he has spent hardly any time getting to know, and secondly it just felt like the authors had thrown it in for good measure after pulling it from the roulette wheel of usable tropes, and it really didn’t add anything to what was already a pretty decent story-line in my opinion.

"You don’t need to be anything other than you real self with me."

That- said I really enjoyed this book, Gavin Strong is all sorts of yummy, with a large dash of sweet and a double dose of dirty, dirty man thrown into the mix, he ticked all the boxes for what I want in my fictional men. Ellie was low-level drama, eager to please and the dual POV from them really worked in the telling of their story.

"This one can stay."

Will I read Max’s book… probably not. We are given a small insight into his sexual preferences at the end of this book, and I know that the tropes likely to be used are areas of romance I personally do not find appealing. However, if the authors were thinking of giving Gavin’s, Head of Security Lachlan a book at any point that is one I would be front of the queue to read. We kind of hit my hard limit with Prime Minister, on the sexual escapades front, but I still highly recommend this read if you are looking for a little titillation, a whole lot of sex, and a pretty decent, but not too stressful story-line.

I’m glad im sitting down because I’m pretty sure waving my raging hard-on around the room is not on the briefing agenda…

Holy Hotness! Have you ever just been wanting a certain kind of book for the longest time and unable to find it? One of those stories that delivers with fantastic sexual tension, a hero that has you soaked and a heroine that you are ready to love the kitty for? HOLY Sh*t. Ainsley delivered big time.

Gavin is the Prime Minister, unattached and attractive. With big ideas for big changes within parliament, lusting after his very young intern is not the wisest of decisions. But he can’t help it. One glance and he is hard as a rock and while he should be paying attention, filthy fantasies are spinning out of control in his head, leaving his c**k achy and his palm a little twitchy.

For Ellie, this three month internship is proving to be much harder than expected and it has nothing to do with the work load. For Ellie, everything about this arena appears to come naturally, the part she is struggling with is how to keep her p*anties dry and around her hips (and not on the floor).

This was such a fantastic read. I loved every second of it. From the first meeting until the very last page. I love that this is set to be a series of standalones and can’t wait to get the other character’s stories.

If you want a hot, slightly BDSM read that is not hardcore but still wildly erotic; this is the book for you. Gavin and Ellie were explosive between the sheets. I loved the struggle both had trying to stay vertical when it was obvious how horizontal they both wanted to be.

4 Sir STARS

As a Canuck with a hottie PM, I was really looking forward to this. Going in, I was looking for a light, smutty read with some sweet, and this is what I got.

A sexy, handsome, dominant Canadian Prime Minister, Gavin Strong, who likes his kink and his new intern has caught his eye. Ellie Montague's a young, beautiful, smart and sassy woman, an intern to the PMO, who aims to please ;) Alright not quite, but we get there eventually and then, the good times begin.

This was fun, sexy and while suspending reality was required at times, it was still entertaining. I did find some of it went on a bit too long but overall, Gavin and Ellie kept me engaged.

If you're looking for a summer read to turn up the heat and get lost in for a while, give this a try!

Wow! That was not at all what I expected.

What I found was a super hot, laugh-out-loud funny, entertaining read.

I didn't read the blurb or any reviews going into this, I just saw some friends saying they loved it so I thought I'd take a chance. When I said it was super hot, trust me. Like so hot I'm surprised my Kindle didn't catch fire.

But it was also tender and sweet. The connection between Gavin and Ellie might have been instantaneous, but it grew into an undeniable love. There was never any doubt that these two were perfect for each other. Gavin is a swoon-worthy, Dominant, alpha male. Who is kind and caring and sensitive. Ellie is an awesome female character who is strong and smart. Stands up for what is right for her. She is unapologetic about her wants and needs and goes after them. She's a spitfire.

And funny. Both Gavin and Ellie are terrific characters and when they banter with each other I defy you not to laugh.

The writing was terrific, with a solid plot and excellent characters. So why not 5 stars?

While I liked reading about their thoughts and learning more about each character, I felt this carried on for too long at times. Because I really enjoyed the character interactions. All of them, not just between Gavin and Ellie, although I craved more between them especially, but I wanted more between all characters.

It is Strong 4,5 stars! It has ups and downs, but I finished it very, very liking the main characters and looking forward to the next part of the series.

Ellie Montague is smart, centered and ambitious, involves her career with the university. During the holidays she landed prestigious three months internship with the team of the Prime Minister. A single and hot PM, Gavin Strong in whom every woman in the country has a crush on. Along with her.

Gavin caught the eye at Ellie from the beginning. His blood circulates faster in her presence. But the prospect of any kind of relationship between them is completely forbidden. He is too old for her, has specific kinky tastes and for this is her boss and Prime of the country, which can lead to a big scandal. He tries to stop his dangerous inappropriate feelings, repeatedly shut her down. But his misleading signals only encouraging her to provoke. And she finally gets what she wanted and so much more.

It is quite refreshing and steamy romance. The book may seem a bit split into two parts. First is almost all about sexual desire. Nonstandard, more done all backwards. It's insta-lust and they have some big chemistry and bold scenes. Out of all the kinky, they soon began to show affection. And I really like fragments of both parts but they both also have lower moments. The first can sometimes goes too suddenly. The second is sometimes a bit boring. But it's not predictable, comes more into new problems.

All of all it was very entertaining reading. I very like such books, where there is a bit of modern romance, and a bit of erotica on a stronger level. Like that menage scene. It was very hot, tasteful and you certainly did not expect to read something like that when you hear the word menage. The same age difference gives a lot of tension and wicked feelings. And when it comes to BDSM, it's light, and really a lot of dirty talk and spanking. The high level of heat in this book certainly is not to be missed.

What I like the most is Gavin and Ellie relationship. Together, they are simply adorable. I love how they love each other. Their relationship was well developed and they are the diamond of the story. Along with all the secondary characters, who also had a large share in storyline. If I'm at the supporting characters, although that series can be read as stand alone, already in the first part we get to know a lot of its successive characters. So do not wait!

Lack of epilogue is a little disappointing, it's more look at the next part. But perhaps this is also the promise of continuity. In the end, Max and Gavin are such a funny bromance that surely we will find out what is happening with Ellie and Gavin from his story. And it promises to be even more famously and kinky. And finally...

“So what does my little fuckerette want to explore?”
“Fuckerette?”
“A girl into kinky fuckery.”

I'd say all from all of this book! For sure, this whole series has the potential to be successful and memorable.

How kinky do you reckon Justin Trudeau is? I imagine he's into a bit of ass slapping and hair pulling so I totally just imagined him the whole time reading this book and damn it Canada, I am so jealous that you get to gaze at that hottie all the time while I have to look at a misogynistic swamp donkey.

Anyway, enough politics! I loved the dick outta this book and it was a complete surprise to me because I have never heard of these authors before and just randomly saw it listed on a book group and thought it sounded spicy and fun.

"How does nobody else see him for the delicious pervert that he is? And how lucky am I that the monster is all mine?"

Spicy and fun is exactly what it was and the nod to my favourite movie Secretary was so hot too.

I know some people said they found it boring with the travel and work stuff but I loved that it seemed semi realistic and the struggles they had sold me on this relationship.

I loved these two together and the sex was PHENOM!! A PM with a filthy mouth and a penchant for rough sex, yes sign me up please.

Other fun things I enjoyed:

- He plays hockey in a beer league
- Age gap (14 years)
- Forbidden romance, she's an intern but it's very NOT Bill Clinton so don't worry
- Bromance

This book I think is free at the moment so go forth and enjoy!!

Ellie Montague is a 25 yr. old woman who attends the University of Ottawa. She is a doctoral candidate. When the university sets up a three month internship for her, Ellie learns she will be spending her summer working under one of the hottest bachelors in the country. The Prime Minister of Canada is the gorgeous, intelligent Gavin Strong aka the PM. Ellie has a massive crush on her new boss & can't quit fantasizing about him. She has a great respect for him as their nations leader & thinks he does a wonderful job running the country. She knows it's inappropriate to want him the way she does, but just the sight of him sets her on fire.

 photo AC586F07-EC0E-4A2A-8433-8603DEDBB517_zps5krgvbee.jpg

Gavin is intrigued by his lovely new intern. He tries to keep things professional, but wonders what it would be like to introduce this beautiful redhead to his kinky side. She's a scandal he can't afford, but he decides to risk it, & go after what he so desperately wants. They finally give in to their desires & begin a secret affair. Gavin just can't stay away from Ellie. He's never wanted a woman the way he wants her.

 photo 4C64EA81-49C7-4807-8ED4-EB6ABA3E197E_zps8brjbglw.jpg

-She's beautiful. Like, steal my breath and smack me in the face with it gorgeous.

-I can't get enough of her.

-I will never tire of touching her, in big and little ways.

The longer they are involved with one another, the more Ellie thinks about the fact that she is temporary in Gavin's life. She begins to panic over thoughts of their affair getting out, and puts on the breaks. Gavin is intense & passionate about his job. He cares about his country & the greater good, but he isn't willing to lose Ellie. He will do whatever it takes to be with the woman he now sees a future with. He begins wooing her & is totally swoon worthy.

-I'm always greedy for him.

-I can read him like a book. He doesn't want to cross the line. And he wants to cross it so much it hurts.

-I'm his dirty, dirty girl and I like it.

-I'm yours in every way.

-You are my everything.

I really enjoyed this story & can't wait for more in this series. Bring on Max & Lachlan! This book was both sexy & deliciously dirty. Just fantastic!!! :D

One of my all-time faves is FREE today!! (Dec 27/20)

5+ stars! Wow, Ainsley Booth and Sadie Haller sure know how to show a girl a good time, especially this girl. As an academically inclined feminist with a thing for smutty stories, I ate this one up with a very large spoon. All the pseudo-political talk about real issues got me all hot and bothered right along with all the sex - all the wonderfully hot, rough sex.

So, of course the premise is silly, but the authors never claim anything different. In fact, they have fun with it.
It's only a three month internship, and technically there's a deputy director of communications and a chief of staff between us in the chain of command. But my nipples don't understand that and they're super excited about working so closely with Gavin (the Canadian Prime Minister).
The whole book was filled with this type of slightly sarcastic humor, and even better, the characters were well-characterized, consistent, and actual adults in how they dealt with events . . . well, events that dealt with their relationship (because -LOL - I would imagine that a leader of a G7 country wouldn't have the time to embark on a serious relationship with his/her intern). And of course, like any romance novel worth its salt, this one has its sweet moments.
"I've never had a workplace affair before, and never will again. It's entirely incidental that you were my intern. It was you. Your wit and your sweetness, and yes, your beauty. I'm captivated, Ellie."
"But I'm just me and you're . . . perfect."
"Did you ever consider that maybe I'm just perfect for you?"
Sigh. I loved it.

3.5* spank me very much STARS!!

Review @ Midnight Romance

I'm so into kinky shit. This book was my first read from both authors and I'm excited. The blurb and teasers sounds really promising. Unfortunately, it wasn't like what I've expected. But I give bonus stars because this is new theme about politics especially high profile person as a Prime Minister ;)

Ellie Montague works as an intern with the Prime Minister because she's a brilliant girl and hard-working person. She's also in lust with the PM, Gavin Strong. The feeling is mutual. Gavin couldn't forget how sweet Ellie called him 'Sir'. The urges to spank her was really bad that he need to distanced himself. Gavin wasn't sure about Ellie because he has 'different' taste.
“Jesus, Ellie, you’re playing with fire.”
“So maybe I want to get burned.”

description
The little minx is cosplaying a BDSM movie. In my office.
And I have this urge to recreate a scene or two.

I'm glad the story focused with (mostly) with their interaction. Their sexual banter was off chart! I'm not really into office romance but this was something new that I enjoyed it. Of course, when Gavin's dirty mind start to show off. I loved how the author use Secretary for BDSM reference because that was a great movie! Even Gavin is the Dominant in the relationship, he's a real softie. It seems their BDSM only kinky sex inside bedroom.
"You're bent over my bed, dripping wet because I'm spanking you. And you like it."
Another whisper.
My cock throbs as I lean over her. "What was that?"
"I love it," she says more clearly. There's wonder in her voice. I've given her this. She pushed me so hard to show her what I like. Why did I doubt that she might be a natural?
My dirty girl.

However there are several problems. The constant uncertainty from Gavin. Yeah, he's the PM and he must think any possibility about their future relationship. When they have green light to do their BDSM, Gavin did something 'uncomfortable' scene. It was too freakin' awkward. Uh huh...

description
No, when it comes to Ellie I have zero game. I'm the classic lovesick idiot. And that's probably going to be my undoing, but I don't care. I've waited nearly forty years to meet her, and now that she's in my bed I'm never letting go.

The story was told from 2 POV's, Ellie and Gavin. It was boring after their 'repetition' lewd acts and the love-dovey scenes. Not to be bitter, but after Gavin and Ellie has relationship, they're become less kinky than I expected. Overall, this is very nice read with amount of love mixed politics. I found that this is only for fun BDSM and they embraced it quite good. I would love to recommend this for office romance lover and kink for newbies.

3.5 stars!

Gavin Strong is on another level of alpha male. Not only is he a dominant force in bed, he's also the most powerful man in Canada. He's the leader of a country thats's part of the freaking G7 for crying out loud! Hahaha I know this book is fictional, but I can't help but think of a certain someone as I read about this fictional Canadian PM. I'm pretty sure you're all thinking of him, too.

I enjoyed reading the book, but somewhere along the way I kind of got bored with all the sex scenes. Full review to follow.

This book was FILTHY.

I loved it.

The plot: Everyone is crushing on Canadian Prime Minister Gavin Strong. He's the full package: handsome, charming and a politician who actually wants to make the world a better place. Ellie Montague is an intern and doctoral candidate "on loan" from her university and she's already halfway in love with him. Gavin is crushing on her as well, but he tries his darnedest not to pursue her because OPTICS. He's also VERY kinky and there's no way that the beautiful and innocent Ellie could POSSIBLY match his freak.
SPOILER ALERT: She does in fact match his freak.
Now, Ellie and Gavin must decide if their burgeoning relationship is worth the media scrutiny and threats to their respective careers.

Things that I liked about this book:

1. You know when you read a romance, and the MCs don't really have a personality apart for being horny for each? Thankfully, this is not one of those romances. Ellie and Gavin have their own friends and hobbies. Gavin plays hockey. Ellie does yoga! It sounds so small, but I love reading about them doing their own things as much as I enjoyed all the sexy times (AND THERE ARE PLENTY).

2. Ellie and Gavin are both good at their jobs. If you've followed my reviews for a while you know that a big thing that gives me the ICK is when MCs suck at their jobs 😭Maybe this is me discovering that I have a competency kink. Who knows. Fortunately, Gavin is a politician who happens to be a good person who's also very good at playing "the game" (that's how you know it's fictional) and Ellie is a kind, intelligent woman whose brain continues to work even though she's fallen in love: she teaches at her university, she presents research at conferences, she writes speeches, she helps Gavin compose a suitable statement when his privacy is violated. SHE'S BARBIE. HE'S JUST KEN.

3. I love that there was no 3rd act breakup. Even when there were multiple opportunities for one. The push/pull is mostly in the beginning of the book, and it primarily comes from Gavin and for valid reasons: the age gap between them, his position of power etc. But once they have a discussion (and very hot sex) he is IN. I was waiting for that 3rd act breakup and it never happens because they talk through things like adults. They get so much crap thrown at them and they check in with each other and communicate and it's so DAMN REFRESHING. The third act conflict comes from them fighting outside forces, not each other. Are you telling me you can write a great romance without having a 3rd act split? Inconceivable!

4. The side characters were great. You have Max, Gavin's best friend (he's the hero of the next book in the series) Lachlan, Gavin's head of security who also happens to be kinky. Beth is Gavin's assistant who appears to have some sort of "thing" going on with Lachlan. And last but certainly not least we have Sasha, Ellie's best friend/roommate/fellow academic who's VERY protective of her bestie. I'm pretty sure all these characters get their own books as well.

5. Ellie DEEPLY researches kink before she decides to pursue anything with Gavin. This lady was ready, ok! And back to that gorgeous communication, they have a discussion about what the Dom/Sub dynamic would look like between them. It's such a funny, well-written scene.

There was only one thing I didn't like about this book:

I hated the nickname Gavin gave Ellie: It's "Sprite." That name does not work in contemporary romance, besties! My eye twitched every time it was used, and it's used ALOT.

Read this book if you enjoy:

The television show Scandal.
That storyline between the PM and Natalie in Love, Actually (yes in hindsight it's problematic, but it's my holiday comfort movie OK)
The movie Secretary (they reference it quite a bit and I was reminded me I need to do a rewatch ASAP)
Age Romances: The hero is 39 and the heroine is 26
Well placed "Good Girl"(s)

Warning: there is one scene in this book that is threesome.... adjacent. So, if you don't like reading about people sharing, this might not be the book for you.

With that caveat aside, highly recommend for a fun, sexy time.

3.5 Mr. PM stars

A lot of people recommended this book and so I was dying to read it. I love the summary and I love the cover so I dove into this book with high expectations.

There isn’t anything wrong with this book. I just don’t think it clicked with me like everyone else. The writing flow well, the plot was cute and there was a developed storyline, maybe my issue is that I went into this book expecting it to be smut because there is a kinky scene in the book and what I actually got was a sweet NA read.

Intern and sexy PM get it on. There’s some tension, some steamy scenes and some relationship talk (a lot of relationship talk). The tension is mild and it’s a meaty book, so you get plenty of relationship build up. I don’t think I ever connected to the characters fully, but I do believe they connected to each other. I think I wanted the book to push boundaries a bit, something that would knock me off my feet.

Overall, it was a decent read and yes, I will read the next book. I’m excited for Max’s story because I feel like he would be more my style.

4 Sprite Stars ⭐️

This is the story of a kinky Canadian Prime Minister and his young intern who is up for a little spanking.

Prime Minister is a standalone within the Freaky Beaver series. Gavin is newly elected and working hard to make a difference for his country. Because of his particular tastes, he tries hard to deny his attraction to the new intern Ellie because he assumes she is vanilla. Except, Gavin wasn’t expecting his little sweet, intelligent intern to be so very persuasive....

This was a sexy low angst office romance that explored this couple’s sexual fantasies and desires while trying to navigate their relationship going
public. It was definitely a hot little read!

Oh. My. God.

They went there. *whispers* In the PM' s office. Again, oh. My. God.

This was a bloody brilliant read for me, just the right mix of secret/forbidden, filthy smut, dirty talk and sweet romance with a charismatic, powerful man and a smart, sassy woman. Yeah so there was some artistic licence with the operation of his office and the number of people involved in running the country, but just enough to let the story flow. I struggled to put this one down.

Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, it's not working for me. I don't know but it feels like, to me, the flow of the story is a bit off and disjointed. Or maybe it's just because I've been having a hard time getting into any book these days.

Others seem to be enjoying this one so maybe it really is just me.

Prime Minister is one hell of a sexy, decadent, and adorable read!
I spent my entire day with Gavin and Ellie. Did I get any work done? Nope. Was it worth it to my romantic reader’s soul? YES!

Gavin: the young and attractive PM with a barrage of female fans and a host of politicians that are just waiting for him to fail. All the while, he just wants to do a good job and not succumb to the urges a certain new intern provokes every time she walks into a room. Yeah… an intern. The last thing he needs is that whole situation.

Ellie: smart, capable, and happily working on finishing her degree. The last thing she ever expected was to be so captivated by the PM. I mean, every man and woman seems to be, why would she be any different? As she tries to hide her obvious attraction, she begins to feel as if it’s not just one sided. But would crossing that line make her a joke and ruin her if it ever gets out?

Now with all of that aside, throw in some fun explorative sexcapades and you got yourself one deliciously kinky read!

In all honestly there is so much I want to tell you, but really – do you want it ruined? I will tell you this: Prime Minister has been one of my favorite reads this year. No deep angsty drama, although there is some, but moreover it’s just a real attraction that is a combination of chemistry, longing, lusting, and loving.

This writing duo is a match made in sexy steamy romance writer heaven. I am still smiling the day after. Just get it. Read it. Love it.

P.S.
There is a little teaser at the end about book two, Dr. Bad Boy. I CANNOT WAIT!
