When a body turns up at the Cottages, Madison and Fab, the sexy sleuths are on the case. But when the killer makes a habit of discarding bodies on Madison’s property… it’s personal.
While on the hunt for the killer, the duo track down a double-crossing bail jumper, repossess a Lamborghini, and Madison lands her first case.
As more bodies pop up, the cops are eager to name a suspect. When a close friend is arrested as the prime suspect, Madison and Fab will stop at nothing to prove her innocence, but will they be too late?
Executed in Paradise, the ninth book in the scorching Paradise series about best friends who maintain the peace in the twisted paradise of Tarpon Cove through unconventional ¬– and highly entertaining – measures.
Deborah Brown is the author of the Paradise series, Crazy, Deception and Trouble Florida Keys mysteries, which makes the reader laugh, cry and cheer...
My personal ad would read:
There's nothing a new pair of shoes can't cure.
Redhead. Long legs. There's nothing like a strawberry-lemonade in summer. Favorite activity: Filling my pockets with seashells. An avid rule follower when eating Animal Cookies: Broken ones get eaten first, match up the rest, duplicates next, line them up favorite to not, least favorite go first. 4.5 stars Another mythical adventure of this fantastic and indivisible duo, Madison and Fab. I love them, I look forward to every new release for to have fun with them. I hope that this series would never end: the plot is very well developed and well-woven, the characters are witty, colorful and lovable, the setting is really amazing. There is mystery, love, friendship, humor, action, suspense .... Madison and Fab are always willing to save their friends, often ending up in trouble. To help them, there are their really sexy and charming boyfriends. In this episode the two protagonists must find a serial killer who is leaving corpses in Madison's properties. A Madison's friend is accused of being the murderess then he disappears suddenly. Madison must quickly solve the case to save her friend and her properties. Although it is the ninth book in the series can be read as a standalone, but these books are so compelling that once read one will want to read all of them. I recommend it to those who love the cozy mystery I received an advanced readers copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
No other property in the neighborhood boasted the occasional dead body.’
South Florida author Deborah Brown books are infectious. She has a joie de vivre that pours out every page of her books. Having read Book 5 GREED IN PARADISE, Book 6 REVENGE IN PARADISE, and Book 7 KIDNAPPED IN PARADISE, Book 8 SWINDLED IN PARADISE, it is almost with a ‘first in line’ feeling to approach Book 9 EXECUTED IN PARADISE as she continues to pull off this Florida Keys Mysteries Series, having established a committed audience. According to the scant bio she states, ` I wanted to create books with a wide-range of unforgettable characters, with heat and romance, and lots of guns. It wouldn't be complete without a slice of humor and charm. My personal ad would read: There's nothing a new pair of shoes can't cure. Redhead. Long legs. There's nothing like a strawberry-lemonade in summer. Favorite activity: Filling my pockets with seashells. An avid rule follower when eating Animal Cookies: Broken ones get eaten first, match up the rest, duplicates next, line them up favorite to not, least favorite go first. South Florida is my home, with my ungrateful rescue cats, and where Mother Nature takes out her bad attitude in the form of hurricanes.' So even before beginning Chapter 1 you love her!
By now the devotees of Deborah Brown's leading lady Madison Westin and her friends and acquaintances and favorite hangouts expect the action and the fun of these serial books to take off from page one. And EXECUTED IN PARADISE is no exception. ‘When a body turns up at the Cottages, Madison and Fab, the sexy sleuths are on the case. (‘“Dead body is better than murder, don’t you think?”) But when the killer makes a habit of discarding bodies on Madison’s property… it’s personal. While on the hunt for the killer, the duo track down a double-crossing bail jumper, repossess a Lamborghini, and Madison lands her first case. As more bodies pop up, the cops are eager to name a suspect. When a close friend is arrested as the prime suspect, Madison and Fab will stop at nothing to prove her innocence, but will they be too late?’
And that is the frothy speed of action that continues through the book. Readers have met Madison's mother and her sleazy boyfriend Jimmy Spoon because they glide in easily into the story. Madison and roommate/best friend Fabiana Merceau, living in the inherited from the aunt's Key West home, mystery, frank sexual innuendoes, mystery, snappy and at times naughty dialogue - everything that makes Deborah Brown's style a good read. She has her serial genre down pat! And boy is it great to have her back!
I absolutely love this series. I can’t get enough of it! I love the humor. I love the quirky family relationships. I love the trouble that always seems to follow Madison and Fab. I love that it’s a mystery that isn’t suspenseful, but still makes you think. I love the boys (more specifically, I love Creole and Didier!)
While Executed in Paradise is book 9 in the Paradise Series; you do not have to have read the previous ones. I highly recommend you do because they are a great read, but you won’t miss anything if you skip them and go straight to this one.
All you really need are the basics which are Madison and Fabiana (Fab for short) are best friends and private investigators. (Fab is licensed, Madison is not.) They do most of their work for Brick who, frankly, is a low life.
The girls usually find themselves in some type of trouble one way or the other and if it’s not them directly it’s their property. Madison inherited a house and “rental” cottages from her Aunt and took over a local bar from the owner when he went on the run.
Everything that goes on is really, rather, hilarious. Especially when the girls make their boyfriends mad. Madison’s boyfriend Creole is quite over protective and Didier is a French model. (Yum anyone?)
I’m telling you, the adventures the girls get themselves into is nothing to miss!
I have read most of the Paradise books and I always look forward to reading the next one. They are full of action, humor, suspense, and mystery but are also quick, fun reads.
Madison Westin and her best friend, Fabiana, are always getting into trouble. While they can often get out of scrapes themselves, they often get reluctant assistance from their boyfriends, Creole and Didier. They both complain about the girls getting themselves in over their heads, but they always help them when push comes to shove. I love all the different relationships and not only how the four care for each other, but how Madison's family considers the others one of their own.
This time there is a serial killer on the loose and Madison is determined to find out who it is, especially since bodies are showing up on her properties. Of course, nothing is simple when it comes to her and Fab.
Deborah Brown’s writing flows well and is easy to read. Executed in Paradise is full of action, suspense, and humor. No matter what is happening, there’s always room for a little humor in the Paradise books.
Even though Executed in Paradise is part of a series, it does stand on its own. I highly recommend it and I hope there will be more of these books in the future.
Madison and Fab have become two of my favorite quirky, must-read characters. They are so unique, fun and add spunk to life in regards to serious situations. I would love to be in their circle of friends because you know that adventure is around each and every corner. This time around, Madison is facing murders that are happening on her own properties. To make matters worse, one of the girls' friends is suspected in the murders. I am a fierce supporter of my friends and understand the need for giving them protection but when the friend goes missing, it's hard not to find yourself in a little pool of doubt!
On top of this conundrum, Madison and Fab have to balance proving their friend innocent while still working their PI cases. I'd be on information overload! My favorite part is how the duo keeps a positive outlook throughout everything that is thrown their way. I've read several other series of books and usually, within a couple of books, the mystery is gone but Deborah keeps getting better and better with each book. I think her antics with this pair are never-ending - and I love it!
I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.
Although I have read all of the books in the 9-part Paradise series, each one can stand alone, because the story line that Deborah Brown comes up with for her two main female detectives are unique in each book.
Executed in Paradise is no different in that regard. Unusual private eye Madison and adept and well-kept freelance P.I. Fab have murders piling up in their own backyard – way too close to home – and they need to find out who is responsible.
In the middle of their investigation on the case, they take on non-related cases for Brick and Spoon, and good detective work plus humor are the order of the day. Unfortunately, Fab & Madison’s friend gets arrested for the murders and now they have to find the killer to prove her innocence.
One of the things that makes Deborah Brown’s writing great is the development of the characters that make up the family hat surrounds these two P.I.s, and the extended family around them. We get to meet them and find out more about them with each mystery, from Madison’s mom to ex-husbands: they all have a story to tell!
**I received this book free of charge in exchange for my honest review.
I can't get enough of this series!! I might have mentioned once or twice that I love to laugh at the predicaments Madison and Fab get into and how they have to somehow keep their over protective boyfriends from finding out. But the guys are now working together-----
Bodies keep showing up-the first in a dumpster behind Madison's house--then more show up in various places. But who is doing this and why? Of course, Kevin, a cop, who may end up part of Madison's family one day, is always ready to say Madison did it.
And the crazy tenants at her rentals--well they are crazier then ever and egged on by the property manager who promised their lawyers family entertainment--then she gets abducted after getting arrested and released for possibly being the murderer.
It is Madison and Fab who are left to solve the case--and solve it they do in the most unconventional way possible--as only they can.
This series just keeps getting better and better!! They can be read as stand alone-but so much more fun if you read them all in order!!!!! Executed in Paradise
As always, I love Fab and Madison's antics! I know I'll always enjoy reading Ms. Brown's books.
This time around, bodies are turning up on Madison's properties, so the murders are definitely hitting too close to home. One of their friends is arrested for the murders and then goes missing, so Fab and Madison are fighting even harder to prove her innocence.
Madison and Fab balance trying to solve the murders with handling PI cases for Brick and Spoon, which makes for a hilarious combination of work to be done.
This book is a fun read with just enough who dunnit to keep the pages turning quickly. Be prepared to read the whole book in one sitting, because it will be hard to put down!
I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.
When a dead body is found on The Cottages property that Madison owns, she and best friend Fab start snooping around for answers. They discover that previously there were two other bodies disposed of the same way. Then, another body is found in the dumpster of another property that Madison owns. She can’t help but take it personally, so Madison vows to find the serial killer one way or another.
Madison and company never disappoint me. The characters always range from loveable to bizarre, and one or two a bit creepy. This is such a fun series, and my favorite by far. I love the wacky adventures, and hate each time the story ends.
Madison and her friends never ever fail to disappoint me. This is the 9th book in this series and I think I've read most of them. I've laughed through most of the books that I've read. They're always a good time. Madison vows to find the serial killer one way or another after a dead body is dropped off into her property. I always love the wacky stories and hate when the stories come to an end, and hope beyond all measure that the author will write another of these books, because I can't seem to get enough of Madison and Fab! Book received in exchange for my honest opinion from Beck Valley Book Tours. All opinions are my own.
Deborah Brown has a way with words! I find myself easily slipping into Tarpon Cove, feeling like I have come home for Christmas break. Madison and Fab are like the crazy older cousins I always wished I had growing up: The ones that got into all the trouble and you had to help hid from Mom and Dad.
Serial Killer in the Keys? This book is the 9th in a series. Each book is a complete story on its own. But, the series is better when read in order so the reader can enjoy the nuances of the backstory. In this episode, bodies are showing up all over town and the cops are looking at our 2 main characters. There are about five different things going on at a time. It is a page-turner with crime and humor. I have been binge-reading the series and am not yet ready to stop!
As usual the antics and happening of these two will have you turning the page to see what happens next. Every thing from love to murder keeps you holding your breath to see how they manage to come out ahead. Enjoyed the addition of the boyfriends being included. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Each of her books takes me deeper into "the family". Each character has so much to say, and each monetise in so perfectly to the books. I give all her books 5 stars. Cannot wait to start the next book.
Again, I've been surprised that even though I know so much about this group of characters, I still get such pleasure out of reading these books. They are my "go-to" when I need light hearted with still that touch of mystery.
The characters are so entertaining. The stories in this series always have mystery, adventure, fun, and romance. I didn't care for the whole pretend break up. But the rest of the book is enjoyable.
For some reason this book was not as much fun as the others. It seems as if the author is trying to pair everyone up and tie up loose ends in personal relationships. Maybe this is a transition book, leading to better stories.
Another tale of who done it! The characters delight the reader with continued dialog that delights and supports the plot. The characters have now been adopted into the readers family - well done!
I so wasn't expecting any of what happened. I'm still curious about who shot Brick maybe the next book will tell us. Love that Mac has found her someone about time. Now for Shirl to get her happy ending. Might also need Brad and Julie to move n together.
These crazy girls get into more trouble than 20 two year olds. I love the way the family just keeps growing and growing. One thing for certain, they sure provide a lot of laughs and I can’t wait to read their next escapade.
Again, a good proofreader is required. I do enjoy these south Florida light-hearted mysteries! Not gory and the girls always get into trouble but hot boyfriends are there to comfort them
