A great set of books right here for an amazing low price! Each book has it own way of things. What happens in each one will keep you so fully wrapped up into the story that you'll finish the set before you realize it. Lots of late night reading! Once you start, it'll be hard to stop for anything!
I feel like I just read the same book 15 times. The 15 books were purported to be by four different authors, yet it was glaringly obvious they were all written by the same person. The stories were all the same, only the names and situations had been changed.
For every story, the author used an outline and filled in the blanks - like a Mad Lib. The repetitive use of "wondered" instead of "asked" or "inquired" was another clue. When I see that someone wondered something, I assume that they thought the question instead of speaking it. No, all four of our heroines frequently wonder out loud.
The stories are about our heroine (Daisy/Deanna/Meg/Chloe) who works as a(n) (interior decorator/reporter/donut shop owner/cosmetics saleslady) with a serious sweet tooth who likes to solve mysteries. She has an affinity for (cupcakes/ice cream/donuts/pie). Not much difference in personality between the characters, except that one is a witch with special powers. Even most of the suspects and victims are too similar to each other.
She must solve the mystery because her (friend/cousin) has been (accused of a murder/murdered). The local cop says, "Don't interfere, this is an official investigation." But she does anyway.
She interviews a handful of suspects, all with the same in-your-face kind of questioning, sometimes with the cop, sometimes without.
"Where were you between the hours of (11-12pm/12-1am)?" "I was sleeping." "That's your story." "It's true!" "Were you alone?" "Yes, what difference does that make?" "Because you have no one to corroborate your alibi." Suspect slams door in her face.
Daisy/Deanna/Meg/Chloe eventually figures out whodunit because of some obscure thing her (Mom/Grandmother/Friend) says and she confronts the suspect.
"You did it." "Yes, I did! And you're next!" Out pops the local police. "You're under arrest!"
Case closed. There you go, you just read every book in the collection. Overall, the books aren't bad, read separately, but they all need some serious editing. They're loaded with incorrect and missing words. For the price though, I can't complain too much.
The only mystery is why I read all 15 of these books. They were nearly identical: amateur detective who is forced to solve a murder to save her friend. After a day of "investigation", a light bulb suddenly goes off and the amateur rushes to confront the guilty party. Amazingly, the police all hide in the bushes until the murderer admits guilt, when they emerge to make their arrest. No plot, no proofreading, no thanks. K.M. Morgan will forever be on my list to avoid.
Cozy Mystery 15 Book Set was a great box set by K.M. Morgan, Bridget Bowman, Kayla Michelle, and Amelia Morgan. This box set consists of; The Deadly Rock Star Affair, The Deadly Restaurant Affair, The Deadly Secret Affair, The Deadly Rival Affair, A Prescription To Die For, A Novel To Die For, Witches Of Enchanted Bay, Ax To Grind, Killer Twist, A Bewitching Murder, A Riddle Of A Murder, The Nuts And Bolts Of Murder, Mattress Mart Murder, Reunions Can Be Deadly, and Killer Finale. I really enjoyed reading these books and can't wait to read more by the authors.
Really good stories. Can’t figure “who done it” until it’s revealed. Just wish you had a better proof reader as their are many errors that should be easily caught and fixed before printing! Thanks, lots distracting. Nan
Having read in the neighborhood of fifty+ books from author Meredith Potts, the chance to buy & read 15 of them is an absolute steal and a huge bargain. Cute, well-written & enjoyable clean cozy mysteries. Well-written & enjoyable. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
I received free a 3 book set evidently no longer offered. which included The Deadly Art Affair. The Deadly Legal Affair, and The Deadly Directorial Affair -- those are in order book 1 then 2 then 3 of the series. The background information is repetitious unless you are reading stand alone books, so in a set is very, very repetitious. For example, I do not need to be told, each and every story, just who her grandmother is. The stories seem to be trying to be a cross between murder she wrote and Agatha Christie, but with clues which ended up solving the case not really mentioned or buried in unnecessary story side trips. I must have read at least one if not more of these stories before because the endings held little surprise nonetheless, although that could just be the 'formula'. This 'formula' is present in all the books and is, to say the least, aggravating.
The Deadly Art Affair --The Deadly Legal Affair --The Deadly Directorial Affair--The Deadly Real Estate Affair--The Deadly Rock Star Affair--The Deadly Restaurant Affair--The Deadly Secret Affair--The Deadly Rival Affair
BUT Daisy McDare Three Book Set The Deadly Rock Star Affair--The Deadly Restaurant Affair--The Deadly Secret Affair is 4 5 6 Not 1 2 3 which seems to no longer be available as a set
Then being so horrible at names, got the above 3 set then the 3 set directly above then the 8 book set, and thought my head was going to implode; the only reason don't give her or any writer a 1 is because save that rating for shape shift or other like books that say in title something such as shapeshift for first word, then romance in second word, then turn out to be a badly written excuse for soft porn.
Kindle Unlimited, save some $, once you've read one you've pretty much read them all. Typos, murder she didn't write {well} redundant/unnecessary, and if someone really ate like that no they would not be rail think unless they were a purger, but all this did remind me to make sure had rated and reviewed the Witches of Wisteria she does, wouldn't want people to get the wrong idea about those, either.
Date off on all these, some of the ones forgot to review for goodreads.
I really enjoy a nice cozy mystery but plowing through 15 in a row was a bit much. Even though they claimed to be a compilation of three different authors the reality is they read like 15 editions of the same book! Three amateur sleuths with serious sweet tooth addictions outwitting law enforcement with donut addictions. Book number 13 had so many typos I almost quit reading but I kept going and books 14 and 15 restored the quality of the authors penmanship. The one redeeming quality of all 15 books is that I was unable to guess the murderers in advance.
It needs better word editing but mostly it showed an improvement over the last two by adding some new twists and descriptions, not the "same old." It's like having the script written and putting in different names. Background is good, just a bit tiring. I like to see new placement of the storyline to make it interesting. Chloe needs to get a more interesting life besides solving murders. She seems like a dull girl in relation to the way she goes after suspects. As I said, this book is better than the last 2, ending on a better note. Enjoy it while you can.
After reading all 3 books I've got to say they were pretty good. The problem i have is that they're all the same, just different situations but the same words are used when she first tells her friend she's going to find the killer and why she's going to do it as well as when she figures out who done it and Detective Thicke says "Freeze"and "take him away boys". I would really like to read a book that feels fresh and new.
While I love cozy mysteries, this set was all the same. Location and name change but the same plot, ending and quotes. I know the bare minimum was paid for these mysteries. But should they really be all the same story? How is it possible to publish the same book that many times. I gave it that many stars only because, before it became repetitive I was intrigued. I have to be careful of some Cozy's from now on.
I really enjoyed this box set of 15 books. They are easy fun reads. I don't want to give any spoilers... if you want some books to just kick back and read at you leisure, this is for you. I enjoyed them all!!
This group on novellas were good, short reads. Ostensibly by 3 different authors, I imagine they were by the same author under different names. The plots were formulaic, and predictable. However, as short bits of "going to bed " reading, they were fun.
Nice collection of quick reads. They were all very similar. I even found the characters interchangeable. That being said, they made a nice little escape during my lunch hour.
