Ok I loved this book and really look forward to reading more. The author kept me engaged with the story and sucked me right into the book. The characters are good and very entertaining the story is evolving and keeps me engaged and guessing on what will happen next. The MC is a truly unique and interesting character that's going to be very enjoyable to read about.
At least for me, this is far from a casual read. I'm use to reading through stuff pretty much nonstop. There are multiple scenarios that all tie into the main storyline and I had to take a few breaks and let everything settle. There's just so much going on, even in the stories within the story. Add the emotional tension as the fates of so many hang by various threads and you find out you've ridden a bit of an adrenalin rush. Wumpf!
Looking forward to Book 3, but at the same time, I don't want anything to slow down the author's other series releases. Want.... Want.... Want....
While the first book was good and stuck with few POV, this one seems to have a new POV character every new chapter. I am sure it will all eventually tie together, but you lose continuity bouncing all over the place. And I don’t get invested in anyone b/c I know I won’t get to know them or have time to really care.
I really liked the first book mostly because of the authors character Startum Ironwolf. It feels like he was abandoned in the second. Startum hardly had any chapters, but the ones about him had the best plot and were the most entertaining.
This book blends fantasy with historical fiction with modern world a lot better than book one. Jumps around a bit to keep track of plot lines an back stories but does it well. Can't wait for book 3 oh and read books 1 an 2 in just under 3 days!!
Ok I really enjoyed all the viewpoints even if it did take me a bit to understand who was up. I am enjoying the story lines and look forward to where everything comes back together.
