Provides a unified treatment of momentum transfer (fluid mechanics), heat transfer and mass transfer. The treatment of the three areas of transport phenomena is done sequentially. The subjects of momentum, heat, and mass transfer are introduced, in that order, and appropriate analysis tools are developed.
Had an open book exam covering the entire book (except for a couple of chapters) and never have I been so happy with just passing an exam (I failed my first attempt). Don't know if my brain is very unsuited for continuum mechanics or if this book was unintuitively written. This book is going to be hell for anyone who isn't very comfortable with ODEs.
I recommend from 5th edition and later. It has become a modern and more complete book. The problems are great to understand the fundamentals application of transport phenomena.
I'll admit to being biased here because the class was torture, wiped clean from my memory except for those moments of stabbing, nagging pain that something happened. This is the first time I've actually seen/known the title of the book.
