My rating/review is based on the author's privately published edition 'The Films of Alice Faye' from 1972. I presume this edition is similar with the same 192 pages but a different cover design.

First-rate coverage of Faye's film career with over 300 sumptuous illustrations with many previously unpublished on-set photos. Excellent detailed story synopses, cast and credits from all 33 of her films, reviews, posters, sheet music covers and lengthy well researched notes revealing little known production facts about deleted songs and players.

With a two page foreword by Henry King, who directed Alice in two of her best films: 'In Old Chicago' and 'Alexander's Ragtime Band' (both 1938); a fine biographical sketch by the author; a discography; and a wonderful portrait gallery displaying 'the many faces of Alice Faye.'

A must for all fans (include me in!) of the golden voice from the golden years of Hollywood.

From Alice herself: "It's gorgeous, and I'm thrilled with such a tribute. Frank knows more about me than I do."
