Minimalistic and interesting.

This book is great to stimulate the use of black/white visuals for babies. My niece who just turned one really enjoys looking at books and the stimulation it gives her. We didn't have any Tana Hoban books for her, but I would definitely look into it when I can children of my own. This book was in our text in Chapter 4 pertaining to 1st baby books.

French translation of "Who Are They?" Black shadow pictures of animals and their babies. The high contrast is particularly attractive for very young children.

dynamite picture book for babies, not cartoony. realistic pictures in black and white, high contrast

Another good title from Tana Hoban. This hits a lot of different baby stages--it's designed for tiny infants, but my 20-month-old likes to flip through and name all of the objects.

I like the concept of all these Hoban books. We own two of her books, so even though I looked at this one at the library, I didn't see any need to bring it home for William. This one was alright, but completely unremarkable compared to the others.

Mama showed me this picture book today - white pictures on black backgrounds. She told me what each picture was and compared it to stuff in my daily life. Even though the pictures were made for my vision right now, I lost interest before the last two pages.

Fun little board book. Good for vocab development. Engages a four month old.

Awesome!

[Tory]

Like the concept, but the objects aren't the ones I would pick.

[Miss Sarah]

A simple black and white board book where the reader guesses the object. no words. baby and up

[Cara Byrne]

A fuzzy bunny, a balloon, and umbrella are all featured in this book.

[Jennifer]

Great high-contrast book for babies.
