Dinosaur ~ The Story Behind the Scenery, by Allen Hagwood & Linda West, authors is a book full of fantastic photos by Jeff Gnass of Dinosaur National Monument. We have visited this Monument many times, rafted both the Yampa and Green Rivers through the Monument, attended talks by archologists working at the site. The building that covers the largest display of dinosaur bones in the world that are exposed with archologists working to uncover more bones each time we visited.
The dinosaur exhibits is just a small part of the Monument, pictographs are dated back to between 6,000 to 10,000 years ago. Plus early settlers in the early 1900s homesteads are preserved for visits.
The layers along the both rivers with uplifts and unique features are wonderful and unique to the area. The book features excellent pictures of everything and a detailed text to inform of everything unique to the Monument.
