I don't know what to think about this one. Technically he wasn't a hitman, he was a mercenary working for an agency. Which could be similar I guess. It was all kinds of fucking weird and the novel description really leads you in the wrong direction.

The story covers a double life of a hitman named Andrea, who was a chef by day and a hitman by night. Phoebe is a young girl, who is a dance troupe, naive and her father ( Harold) is with the FBI. Phoebe was kidnapped by a crazy man and her father seek help from Andrea. She discovers her husband secret and hope to be rescued by him. There is no history on either h/H just that they was married and trying to start a family. The storyline started out great but it felt like the author rushes through and skips over things that should be important and requires more detail. Phoebe's father( Harold) is kidnapped, beaten by Odhran only to be rescued by the son-in-law he disliked. Overall, a nice read if you can fill in the plot holes yourself....

Roller-coaster filled with twists, turns, nearly wipe outs & crashes.
Phoebe; a stunning dancer and Andreas; alpha male hitman, wann-a-bee chef.
Devoted, happily married & still scorching chemistry between the sheets, they didn’t think life could get much better. But it does when Phoebe is pregnant; that only skyrocketed their already high-on-happy-blissful life.
Phoebe pops the lid off Andreas hidden secret wide-open following a string of dramatic events.

I always enjoy reading books by Alyse Zaftig. Her books are fun and fast paced. The Hitman's Pregnant Bride is an older book and I can now call it my favorite. I loved the construction of the book. Usually, books start with the couple meeting and subsequently falling in love. However, Andreas and Phoebe are already married and trying for a baby. Andreas goes to work everyday as a chef and sincerely loves his wife. But, he is leading a double life: a hitman who cooks as a cover. It was cute how he brought Phoebe her favorite foods home each night. HIs life before he met Phoebe was bleak, he was an orphan without a family and no close connections. Complications (well, more complications) arise when the worlds of Andreas and Phoebe collide with the world of Phoebe's FBI father.....will everyone come out on the other side? I honestly had to put this book down several times in order to gather my thoughts and breath. I loved this story so much!!!!

This was so good. I read and finished this story at 2:30 this morning I couldn't put it down. I felt as if I was living the story with the characters. Andreas has a major secret that he's keeping a secret from his new wife Phoebe. He tells her he is a chef but really he works for the "Agency" who sends him out on business of ridding the world of undesirables. Phoebe is his joy and he has two more hits before he can leave the Agency. The chemistry between Phoebe and Andreas was hot, hot, hot. There is so much going on in the story. Action, drama, murder, anger, hurt, kidnapping, passion, steam and love. I enjoyed this story and hope to read more by this author. Phoebe loves her husband Andreas. Andreas pretends to be a caterer when he is really a hitman. He has a plan though. He has a couple more jobs to do before he can quit. Before he can make good to come clean Phoebe discovers his secret. She packs her stuff and goes on the run. Before she can get far she is abducted. Andreas has to team up with her father, who hates him, to get her back. Then he has to figure out how to rescue her father, keep Phoebe safe and repair his marriage. I was a bit reluctant when I started this read. However, it became a page turner. I loved the story and the characters. The plot moved along well. You will enjoy this read!

Phoebe thought her husband was a chef, but in reality he was a mercenary, a paid hitman for a secret organisation. When his father-in-law, became his latest target, he tried to refuse, but that was not an option.Then his wife was abducted! Andreas turned to his father-in-law for answers and help. I found this book an exciting read with a story-line full of suspence and drama. This was a book that will keep you guessing until the end with unexpected twists to guide the way.

Phoebe and Andreas

I loved how this romance takes the reader on a ride. Part mystery, part intrigue, part romance, and lots of emotional second chances all around. Will Andreas be able to have the marriage despite hiding an essential part of who he is? Will Phoebe accept who her husband is and expand her expectations for her ideal marriage? Will Andreas and Phoebe remain intact as a family? Some of Phoebe's moves are interesting, and how Andreas deals with them made me as a reader melt even more. This was a fun ride.

Phoebe thought she had it all, the perfect life, a loving husband and a baby on the way, only to discover her husbands been keeping a dark secret, fearing for her and her unborn baby safety she runs, directly into trouble. But hitman Andrea's, who next target is closer to home, will go to any length to get his family back. Nicely written, action packed, captive, hitman romance. A slow burner to start but soon picks up the pace.

Andreas is deeply in love with his wife; and Phoebe does everything she can to make him happy. They are happy, in love, and having a baby. Andreas has a dark secret - he's an assassin. He's got a few more jobs before he can retire - but - it's his latest is one that he just cannot do!

This is such an AMAZING story! I loved the suspense, danger, intrigue, drama, angst, and passion in the well written, fast paced storyline. Told from dual POVs reveals intimately their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, as they explore their relationship and save their marriage. Recommended!

I enjoyed the cover but the title irritated me. Why bride when she’s his wife?

I also thought the book was too full of unimportant facts like he disposed of his bottle in the recycling bin. Huh? If I’m reading I don’t want to be interrupted by climate change. Or politics cause the gas station attendant is libertarian. Eye roll.

This is my first book by this author and after reading the 'blurb' I thought I knew what to expect but the author managed to surprise me. The plot flows well and has lots of action, romance, and adventure as well as some surprising twists and turns. Andreas and Phoebe are well-drawn and on the surface are a perfect couple but Phoebe stowing away in his car was a little hard to take, what did she think she could do?

This is a good read with a unique twist that will have you lost in the pages. Andreas has a duel life, to his wife he is a cook, to some he is a hitman. His worlds collide when her father that works for the FBI is thrown into the mix.

Their journey has a number of twist and turns that will keep you wanting more.

This was a good story. It kept me interested, and had both suspense and action. Andreas and Phoebe had chemistry. But when Phoebe make a shocking discovery about her husband, she flees, not only for her own sake, but that of her unborn child. I would have liked a little more character development and seeing more into their relationship beyond physical intimacy. 4 stars.

THE HITMAN MARRIES THE DAUGHTER OF AN FBI AGENT!!!

Alyse Zaftig has not let down in any of the books of hers that I have read. "The Hitman's Pregnant Bride" is no exception to this. I felt that this was on book that one could almost say was written from the heart. By that I mean that you felt as though the author had some insight to what she was writing. There is so much love and emotion in this book you just want to be Phoebe and you want your spouse to be Andreas. My attention was grabbed at the beginning and kept till the end. The story line and characters all worked together and the minor characters did their job and didn't take away from the main two characters. Oh and did I mention the wonderful sex scenes......oh yea!!!! I totally recommend this book to mature readers 18 years of age or older!!!

Phoebe is married to a Hitman but believes him to be a chef in a Chinese restaurant. Her father is a FBI agent who does not like her husband. She is pregnant with their child and her hormones are working overtime for her. She loves her husband but has the feeling that he is keeping something back from her. She just knows that when he is home is loving and attentive to her and her needs. He is all about taking care of her and their unborn child. Until one day by accident she finds his secret room with his guns and the other tools of his trade. Scared, she packs her things and is headed to her favorite hide out spot so she can think, but she doesn't make it.

Andreas is a Hitman and he thinks that he has everything he could want. He has a balance between his work and his home life. He is married to love of his life, Phoebe, who happens to be the daughter of a FBI agent, who by the way does not like him. When Andreas is at home he takes care of is wife and their unborn child. Phoebe didn't know what he does for a living and he wanted it kept that way. However, he has been having thoughts of getting out of the business so that he can spend more time with his wife and child. Thinking all is right with the world and he has a home with love, light and whole lot of lust. Then he comes home one day and her car is gone, her clothes are gone and she is gone with their unborn child.

Will Andreas find Phoebe and be able to make things right with her? Will Andreas and Phoebe's dad ever see eye to eye on anything? Will they be able to bury the hatchet long enough to find Phoebe?

What a story- a hitman marries an FBI man’s daughter- everything is all good until the daughter finds out whom her husband truly is and all hell breaks loose. That is when the story gets going..
Andreas is a very handsome hitman who also works as a chef. His killing people is something he does first and being a chef second. His wife doesn’t know who he really is. Phoebe is a sweet and innocent woman who loves her husband with all of her heart and doesn’t see the signs in front of her, She is a ballet troupe dancer and doll maker.
Phoebe has found out she is about to have a baby. She is super excited that they are about to have a baby. Andreas is excited but also scared that his house of cards could come down about him at any time. He just has two more jobs to fulfill as a hitman, and then he can retire and start his own catering business. Sadly, Phoebe finds things that lead to Andreas’ double life and she leaves him which leads to her being kidnapped by someone looking for her FBI dad.. Andreas goes out in white anger to seek answers from his father in law. Only the answers have him realizing they are both seeking something—redemption—and the one thing they love—Phoebe.

The twists and turns in this story will keep you on the edge of your seat . Will Andreas and Phoebe make it ? Will she be rescued? Will their love be saved? Only the answers are found in this awesome action/suspense/romance story. The passion and heat definitely makes for some hot reading.

Phoebe is in a very loving marriage with her Husband Andreas. But she doesn't know everything about her husband, that he isnt a chef but a Hitman. Andreas is a loving husband and takes such great care of his Wife and spoils her when they are together. He wants to tell Phoebe what it is he really does but he has this fear that she would leave him no matter how much she loves him, how will Phoebe react when she finds out? Will she find out from him or on her own?

What I enjoyed most about The Hitman's Pregnant Bride is watching Andreas go from loving what he does to wanting to go about life in a different way and a different Career, To be the man Phoebe would be proud of and of his accomplishments, Things go wrong one day and her husband and father which dont get along at all, will do anything to find her and get her back. Phoebe will do anything to protect her baby and family in this story, where her Husband is a Hitman and her father FBI.. with them teaming up together they can accomplish anything.

This story is great, Phoebe and Andreas story kept me on the edge of my seat wondering how everything would play out. This story is of course a Hitman storyline, with a Father in law that is FBI, who has his suspicions of the man his daughter Married. A Pregnancy, with a devoted Husband that will do anything to keep his wife safe. If you like stories like this, then The Hitmans Pregnant Bride is a must!!

Hitman’s Pregnant Bride by Alyse Zaftig

PHOEBE lives a normal life with a loving husband. Everything is going well until she finds a hidden safe in the basement which contains guns, money and fake passports. Feeling that she can’t trust her husband she runs off to protect herself and the baby. Then she is kidnapped to be held as ransom for information.

ANDREAS has secrets. He doesn’t want his wife to know what he does for a living, but he has plans to complete a few more jobs and then be done with the Agency. Everything is perfect since they just find out that they are expecting….until he comes home and the house is empty and her clothes are missing and his stash of passports is sitting out.

While I liked the plot and there was no cheating and minimal violence, something was missing for me. I really like the stories where there is a strong alpha male and suspense, but this just didn’t have the spark I needed. I’m not sure if it was because Phoebe seemed so immature…her decision to leave the house and then leave Chung’s and then follow the sound of gunshots….it seemed just not smart. Then there was the fact that there were some holes in the plot…how Harold and Andreas all of a sudden are best buds seemed too quick for me.
