This is the third book in the DCI Miller series. I have to say I was very much looking forward to reading this one as I was dying for more information on some of the characters that appeared in the brilliant Neighbour's From Hell which is the second book in the series. The thread to do with that story line was quite low key sadly and I have to admit I would have liked to have read more.

The main story line to do with sergeant Jason Knight made for some riveting reading. I was as concerned as much about his disappearance as his colleagues and family were. I couldn't understand why or how someone of that status could just disappear. When all becomes clear why though, all I can say is what an eye opener it is and it was way better than I could ever have imagined.

What I love about this series is that even though it follows DCI Miller, for me he feels like he is more in the background so that we can fully get into the case that he is working on and the characters involved. It makes this crime series more unique to others in the same genre and it certainly gets the reader fully wrapped up in what is going on.

Road To Nowhere is yet another highly enjoyable and gripping read. The author never seems to fail in shocking and surprising me. Highly recommend these books if you are looking for a series that stands out from the crowd as well as being entertaining.

I just didn't think that Steven Suttie could possibly improve on his last two novels, One Man Crusade and Neighbours from Hell, but he is certainly on a Road to Success with his latest book. Part of this story carries on from Neighbours from Hell, battling causes from the past but time waits for no-one and D.C.I. Miller has to move forward to current events.
I simply love Steven Suttie's writing style where he gets down with the emotional lives of his characters and gets his readers to do the same. His stories have a gritty realism with them that makes you part of the crowd behind the good guy.
A truly super story, just loving Miller and his team. Looking forward to more of the same. Absolutely loved it!

I just love the DCI Miller series. Steven Suttie manages to combine fascinating characters with a thrilling plot & sprinkles of humour along the way. These books are best read in order as the story from the 2nd book continues as a kind of sub plot. A great story with plenty of twists & turns. I strongly recommend the DCI Miller series to fans of British crime thrillers.

I am pleased the loose ends from book 2 are sorted. DCI Miller goes from strength to strength, a very likeable character and one I look forward to meeting in future books.

My Thoughts
This is the 3rd book in the DCI Miller series and continues on from the last book , "Neighbours From Hell".

Steven Suttie has an uncanny ability of writing great stories that come alive from the page. His stories are fast paced, humorous, down to earth and dare I say it “Gritty”.

As with the rest of the series this is a fun journey into the world of DCI Miller and you don’t quite know where it is taking you until you get there. Mr Suttie certainly knows how to finish a book, everyone has left me with a smile on my face. I do love a good ending.

I love the way the antagonist is written, I really felt sorry for him at one point.

The Author says that you don’t have to read the previous book to enjoy this one. You don’t but you should. You should read all of these books. You won’t regret your trip into the world of DCI Miller. Brilliant stories, brilliantly written,

Police Sargeant Jason Knight sets off on a bike ride from his home in Bolton, up to the trough of Bowland, in practice for his charity bike ride from Land's End to John O'Groats, and when he doesn't arrive home in time for his shift at Bolton Police Station, his wife reports him missing. DCI Andrew Miller is seconded over to the Lancashire force, to try and find out what happened to Sgt Knight, but where is he? He vanished into thin air....

This third outing for DCI Miller also deals with the loose ends from book two, the stories run parallel, and they are easily followed, as long as you have read book two...

Steven has a brilliant way of taking a simple storyline, twisting and turning it, and you won't guess the twists in any of the books, they are simply brilliantly written and I read all three this weekend, I sincerely hope that there is more from Steven, and more DCI Millers. Superb!

Let me just say that I am suffering from crime novel overload at the moment so, even though I read and thoroughly enjoyed 'Neighbours From Hell' (Mr Suttie's previous book) I found the start of this book a bit similar to a lot of other generic crime stories I have read recently - the descriptions of police procedure, the troubled home life of some of the cops, etc, etc. I was almost on the cusp of giving up and reading something else but persevered, mainly because there was a sub-plot concerning the characters in the earlier book and I wanted to find out what happened to them.

BUT THEN - god almighty, the plot kicked in and it was like a punch in the gut. I was gripped and totally won over from that point on until the very last page.

This story would make such a good TV drama - think of Happy Valley but on the other side of the Pennines.

Another cracking read!

Steven Suttie doesn't disappoint, the third installment in The DCI Miller series is a gritty realistic police thriller, set up north in Lancashire, the author makes good use of his local knowledge of the area, written as usual, with a touch of northern humour and some witty real life observations thrown in for extra measure.
I would recommend reading these in order to get a feel of how the characters develop, treat yourself to some little reading gems!

Another thoroughly enjoyable offering from this author and the third in the DCI Miller series. This novel follows the frantic search for Sgt Jason Knight when he goes missing. There are twists aplenty and this really is a page turner. I liked how there were sub stories running throughout but these didn't detract from the main story. Suttie is not afraid to tackle controversial subjects as seen from his previous offerings and I'm really looking forward to more of his work.

Another brilliant book from Steven Suttie. Incredibly believable characters, most of whom are likeable but throughout the book I felt incredibly uncomfortable as you can put yourself in their shoes and know you would react in a similar vein! Loved everyone of his books so far and love the fact that he doesn't paint Manchester and the north in a bad light!

Fantastic read.

I can't thank the author enough for his message on Twitter asking if I would be interested in reading his books. All three are set in the local area around me and I enjoyed them thoroughly from start to finish. Fantastic trilogy of books, I'm already recommending these to people and will continue to do so.

DCI Miller Searches for a Ruthless Kidnapper

A cop is missing and feared intensely injured in a MVA. Search is on for a kidnapper of a police sergeant and what is the motive. All England searches for the only clue, a white van. What DCI Miller finds is shocking to all.

Great Series

The book kept my interest from the first page to the last one. You could really identify with Peter and what drove hi to take such drastic measures. I will be looking for the next book featuring DCI Miller. Just an all around great read.

A good story line with an unexpected twist and dramatic ending but the link to the previous book was disappointingly weak and merely provided a moralistic ending that was unnecessary. I enjoyed the descriptive scene setting and the character building but found it hard to believe that all the characters, despite completely different social backgrounds would so easily use profanities the extent that is used in the book. I also found it hard to believe that everyone would continually use the term "brew" for a cup of tea nor is it credible that no-one apparently drinks coffee in the north west of England!

Team work

DCI Miller and his capable teammates take on a complicated case with the promised twists and turns, and bring it to a successful resolution. As the main story progresses some issues from the previous book get tidied up too. This is a long story but pretty riviting.

Fast-paced

Steven Suttie continues his DCI Miller series with the same unmistakable, unstoppable action as the previous two books in this series. At every turn, a revelation is made that makes you want to keep reading to see just how this revelation will affect the ending.

An enjoyable series although I cannot see why the story line included the "sequel " non event of the previous book.

The third in the DCI Miller series. When a police Sgt goes missing during a bike ride all the stops are pulled out to find him. As with the other books in this series, the plot line is a good one, but the background story quite weak in parts. In the background, the Neighbours From Hell story rumbles along, which is eventually resolved (not quite sure it spilled over into this book). For me, despite the high octane finale, the whole story is somewhat laboured. Again, as with the others more research and editing needed.

This is the third book in the DCI Miller series that I have read and have not been disappointed with any of the books. I grew up in the Manchester area and am familiar with many of the areas [Ashton -under lyne] and this has certainly added to my enjoyment.
Suttie certainly keeps us on the edge of our seats and provides an excellent read. For any new reader I would suggest that the books are read in order so that you can enjoy the books in order.

Road to nowhere

This is the 3rd book in the series and another enjoyable read. I still think the first book is by far the best of the three. I am not sure what the ongoing story from the second book actually added to this story. However, it was still a page turner, which I didn’t want to put down. The first two books had quite a big twist/surprise in the plot, but this one didn’t. I’d say 4.25 out of 5.

Wow the edge of your seat thriller so right.

What a good thriller I couldn't put this book down, it ended well with the right characters being punished and the innocent characters being able to get on with their lives.I love these story books and recommend them to crime adventure fans.
