Giving You... #3

All the Waters of the Earth

Rate this book
Life has a funny way of imitating art.

I write romance novels, right? So of course Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome would move in next door.

Clad in his beautiful suits, with those unfathomable blue eyes and that perfect dark hair.

I can’t stop watching him.

Of course he’d be mysterious. Of course he’d be a workaholic I rarely see.

Of course he’d reduce me to a stalker, paying attention to what he does every day. I know there’s more going on with him than meets the eye.

And I know I caught HIS eye that day I wore my tiny bikini to the pool in our complex. I pack a pretty punch in a tiny, Latina package.

My jerk ex-husband doesn’t need to know about any of this. Especially not since we’re in an ugly custody battle.

Having Jake be my neighbor is good for research purposes only.

Yeah. That’s it.

When I finished reading All The Waters of the Earth, I thought How in the world am I going to write a review that illustrates the sheer beauty of this book? Of course, that was after I’d stopped blubbering long enough to think rationally. The feels that bombarded me throughout this book! And the epilogue! Gah! Admittedly, I’m a crier. Especially when an author’s words resonate with me on an emotional level. It can be as simple as reading the dialogue and thinking “That’s so true! That’s exactly how I feel!” Or even, *sigh* “I wish my husband would say those kind of dreamy things.” All The Waters of the Earth did that and more. It reeled me in, knocked down my emotional defenses, and had me walking around in a haze of lust and envy for days.

Let me tell you, Leslie McAdam is a rare gem. She has blown me away with each book in her Giving You… series. Giving You...The Sun and the Moon. Giving You...The Stars in the Sky. And now, Giving You...All The Waters of the Earth. The entire concept is brilliant! It celebrates and embraces the organic, elemental aspects of life, love, and relationships. Each book weaves a theme so perfect, so specific to the hero and heroine I’m constantly gobsmacked. Ms. McAdam’s characters are complex and fascinating. They are sexy, witty, intelligent, hilarious, and fun. There are times I’ve felt her words are born from the ashes of experience. And I’m convinced she pours her very soul into each and every one of her stories.

Lucy and Jake. At first glance, they have nothing in common. Other than lustful thoughts about each other. Their meet-cute over a red thong is adorable and sizzling hot! It also establishes the tone for these two personalities. Jake is straight up business, time is money, I live in a suit, I won’t waste your time, don’t waste mine. But when Lucy opens the door in her itsy bitsy teeny weenie pink bikini...his cool is shot to shit. He’s a blushing, stammering tower of adorable. She pulls him in like the tide. He’s caught in the undertow and is happy to drown in this petite version of Sofia Vergara. Lucy is dee-lighted that this specimen of male beauty has been virtually delivered to her doorstep. Her writer’s block suddenly goes missing. Jake Slauson has given her all kinds of ideas. She just needs to rescue him from himself. And, in typical Lucy fashion, she sets about doing just that. With homemade tamales, sexy late night swims, introducing him to her son, and tender encouragement for him to pursue his dreams. Likewise, Jake doesn't hesitate to stand alongside Lucy when her ex pulls custody shenanigans. He might even get in a punch or two. The point is, Jake begins to think of Lucy and her son Roberto as family. Which is quite a scary step for Jake.

All The Waters of the Earth is about the importance of family and home, however you choose to create it. Lucy is the nurturer to Jake’s lost soul. Make no mistake...Jake is all alpha male goodness. He’s just a bit lost. He’s been without the love and support of family since he was a teen. It’s left a mark not easily washed away. However, he’s willing to let Lucy try. She lovingly shows Jake the meaning of family by inviting him into hers. Jake’s admiration of Lucy’s relationship with her son Rob will tug at your heartstrings. Jake’s transformation and rebirth due to Lucy’s love and encouragement will slay you. This book is all kinds of wonderful. It’s deep and meaningful, it’s lighthearted, funny as hell, and oh my god HOT. It occupies the number one spot on my list of favorites. That is until Ms. McAdam writes the next book in her Giving You...series.

Definitely 6 stars!!!

If I had known that I could write the review of this book the moment I read it (long before publication), I'd have done so quickly. Although, now that I'm trying to write this review, I can't get much beyond "I LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS BOOK. GET YOUR COPY AND READ IT AS SOON AS IT'S OUT!", but I'm going to try my hardest to do it justice.

When I started reading this book, I absolutely couldn't put it down. I mean, I forwent sleep just so I could finish it because it was that good (and I do love me my sleep!). The characters were flawed and real and so honest that it just took my breath away. I absolutely loved the connection between Jake and Lucy. There was no pretense, no playing hard to get…just two people with incredible chemistry trying to make the best of things. There were several heart-stopping moments, not going to lie, but I kept pressing on because I just had to know what was going to happen.

As for the characters themselves, I LOVED Lucy's fire and fierceness. Her life didn't follow the initial trajectory she set out for herself, but she didn't let it deter her or define her future. I sure admire her confidence and spirit. Of course, just like every other human being, she has her moments of vulnerability and she is all the more stronger for it.

Jake is not a new character to this series (he is present in book 1, The Sun and the Moon) and is a classic case of why you shouldn't judge or lump people into a category without getting to know them first. The Jake we meet in this book is vastly different from the Jake in Book 1. Sure he is still a workaholic, but he has so much more depth than we gave him credit for. And like most of us, he has his own inner demons he is fighting and we get to observe him on his journey towards conquering them.

I already mentioned the incredible chemistry between Jake and Lucy, but ultimately this book is about much more than that. It's about knowing that your past and present don't need to define your future. It's about realizing that you are more than your past experiences. Both Jake and Lucy learned this lesson, but I think Jake needed to hear it more. I loved his vulnerability with Lucy and I loved her strength with him.

Even more than the above, the overwhelming reason I LOVED this book is the fact that, while I was reading it, I was filled with this incredible feeling of hope. I don't know how or why, and I definitely can't explain it, but that’s what it did for me. And funny enough, while I was gushing to the author about the fabulousness of the book, the song “Hope in front of me” by Danny Gokey came on the radio and I couldn’t help but notice that the lyrics of the song fit perfectly with this book. If we assigned theme songs to books, this song would definitely be it for this book.

With all of these said, this book is definitely going on my list of books to read when things are going awry and I just need a pick me up!

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Having read “The Sun and The Moon” and “The Stars in the Sky” by Leslie McAdam, I knew that her newest hero would be just as scrumptious as Ryan and Will, the heroine would be sassy and eccentric, and the sex scenes would be scorching hot. Any book where the hero and heroine meet over a piece of lacy lingerie is sure to catch my attention and be counted among my favorite, must revisit fictional worlds. Jake and Lucy did more than keep me entertained... they burrowed in my heart and set up residence. They are fun, fresh, profound, and above all else off the charts hot and can't keep their hands off each other.

Lucy Figuero is a sassy “take no prisoners” beautiful woman who has been raising her son all on her own and doing a fabulous job! She is wary of depending on any man after the way she has been treated by her ex. Who needs a man right? That's how she feels until the sexy, intense new neighbor moves in next door and sparks her curiosity and lights her body on fire. I love how responsible yet carefree Lucy is with her unusual jobs of writing romance, modeling nude and being a devoted mom. She is beautiful both inside and out and knows the true meaning of happiness which isn't being a slave to the almighty dollar. She plans on showing her workaholic, gorgeous neighbor just how much fun you can have when you live through passion and not status symbols and possessions.

Jake Slausen is a lawyer who works hard for every dollar or promotion he has had in life, while possessing an artsy side that he keeps under lock and key. When Lucy comes sauntering into his life he learns that life can imitate art and be even more colorful than on canvas. He is enchanted with this vivid, curvy beauty who speaks her mind and lives life to the fullest. She soon has him craving more than long hours in the office and on the cellphone. He is beyond sexy with his piercing gaze, broody, buttoned up persona. It just makes you want to undress him from the moment he is introduced and see what is underneath those suit jackets and cuff links. He is one of the most unassuming, hottest heroes I have ever had the pleasure of meeting in the fictional world. Move over cocky arrogant book boyfriends there is a new hero in town that has Lucy and readers alike tied in knots over his quiet confidence, smoldering looks, and “still waters run deep” attitude. No worries ladies, he still knows how to please Lucy and rock her very foundation in the bedroom...or possibly a hot tub.

Leslie McAdam knows how to deliver flavorful characters and unique story lines that not only bring you a new love to obsess over but also teach lessons about the important things in life. It doesn't matter if her hero is a sun kissed surfer who is helping the heroine break all the rules and push her boundaries or a swaggering Republican cowboy debating political values between the sheets with a liberal free spirited vegetarian, she brings the world into focus. She creates loveable, addictive characters that possess our hearts and show us how to expand our horizons. Lucy and Jake are the epitome of searing passion, taking chances, changing perceptions, and carpe diem. Slide between the pages of this book and fall in love with a feisty nude model and a tall, dark, and quiet hottie that paint a breathtaking masterpiece of love.

I discovered Leslie before I discovered her books and immediately fell in love with her sarcasm, quick wit and sincere friendliness.

I had not read any of her books but her personality made me want to read everything she ever written but I was also worried that I would not love her books as much as I loved her.

I started with her latest book and went in holding my breath.

I had expected that with Leslie's personality I would read a lot of raunchy gratuitous sex. But then I was overwhelmingly surprised by the beautiful love story that Leslie had fluidly written.

Not only is this a love story between two people but also an example to teach us to love ourselves as we are and also the love and the bond of family.

I fell in love with the honesty and realness in Lucy's character. She wasn't perfect and she didn't care to be or try to hide the fact. She was strong, sassy and wise.

There is no drama. No one walks away and leaves the other behind. We are never left angry about how stupid they are acting. These characters make real decisions and reactions like people actually do in real life. Making us believe this could happen, this is out there and we have a chance for that sort of romance.

Jake was perfect in the way of walking right out of one of a romance novel. But he is more than just good looks and a hard worker. His beauty and drive is not only displayed on the outside but also within. He respects and admires Lucy for how she lives her life.
"I'm not interested in perfect. I'm interested in real."

I was blown away by the sensitivity of the story and the underlining tone of the love and value of family. It's not your normal "Your hot, lets fuck!" kind of book. It's a real life romance that grabs hold of you and has you falling in love with them as well.

If a Unicorn was to read this book then cry at how beautiful the story was, its tears would be used as water colored paints and Bob Ross would use them to paint the most beautiful painting and call it “All the Waters of the Earth.”

With that being said, I can coat the rest of this review telling you all about this book and the storyline and the characters but I will not be able to put into words the beauty and emotions this book brings to your soul. I don’t think a Bob Ross painting with water colored unicorn tears could capture it either.

All I could say is All the Waters of the Earth should be in your library. You need to envelope these words. This is a book you will want reread.

All the Waters of the Earth is the third book in
Leslie's series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone,
the main couple from each book do make appearances
and it was an added bonus. That being said, this one is
my favorite, there was just something about it that touched
my heart. Leslie has a way to teach us something in each
book she writes - including this gem. Leslie used her writing
ability to create a unique story with all the elements of very
sexy, thoughtful, funny, endearing characters and true to life
situations.

Lucy is a young single mother, romance writer and part time
model for an art class. She is fierce, determined and looking
for that perfect "book boyfriend" to jump off the pages and
enter her life. Lucy also had to put up with her son's father,
who was crap at being in his son's life and his
responsibilities as a dad. Lucy, being the vibrant,
sassy woman she was, just took on each day with conviction
that she would reach her ultimate dream. That dream being
the bestmother, writer, to find love and happiness.

Enter Jake the new next door neighbor, he has the
look of that book boyfriend we all want. There is almost
a shy quality to him. Jake is a workaholic, stubborn,
it's all he knows and is he determined to keep it that way.
He also has a caring, sweet and beautiful soul ready to come
to life. Jake's real passion is not the job that he works long
hours at and he has no sense how to choose to live, love,
enjoy, and let go of the life outside of work.

The journey of Lucy and Jake through each chapter
is about change, give and take, to not lose hope
that life can bring you happiness with your
choices. Your past is your past and you fight through
your day to day struggles to reach your goals and to
open your heart. Both Lucy and Jake challenge one
another and both give and take to face there insecurities,
and there dreams with the ultimate challenge to become
each others partners, lovers, friends keeping in mind
Lucy's protective side over her son. Lucy also teaches
Jake to embrace his artistic ambitions. Lucy has herself
worth, faces her past and fights for her future.

All the Waters of the Earth gives you hope to reach
and grasp for the stars and the moon.

There are books that as a reader catch you unawares and this is one of those book, although I should have known that I was getting something very special when after the very first page, I was totally hooked.
The book and its plot are best determined and unveiled as you experience the book, just as the author intended, but I will say that you will certainly not be disappointed.
The storyline is exceptional, the depth of feeling and emotion is second to none and all of that is possible because the author delivers characters that effortlessly drew a compassion and empathy from me.
I liked the fact that they grew and changed as the story unfolded, that not only their personalities but their relationship.
Lucy was a solid character, a writer of romance stories who was looking for one of her handsome alpha males to sweep her off her feet…who isn’t? But when her mister right comes a knocking he is everything she would normally leave on the editing floor.
Jake is as far from Lucy’s image of her perfect man as you could possibly get, he has a past that he would rather leave in the past and a job that seems to take up most of his time. But he cares for not only Lucy but her son and that is priceless.
As I have said the characters are delicious, the storyline, exceptional and the heat factor…well I think my finger tips are singed and my ears are blushing!

Right from the very first page, Leslie McAdam captures her readers attention with this hot, sexy read. McAdam's tells the story of single-mom Lucy Figuroa, a romance novelist, who is infatuated with her sexy neighbour next door. When their paths collide, setting off fireworks between the two.

McAdam's can write a love scene like nobody's business. The heat that radiates form the book is enough to set anyone on fire. McAdam's has the talent and ability to leave her readers wanting and needing more. I was so addicted to this book, I couldn't put it down.

I absolutely loved the characters especially Jake Slausen, the hot and sexy neighbour. At first, Lucy keeps comparing him to the hot, male alpha's of her romance novels, however, once she got to know Jake, she slowly stopped comparing him to the male lead characters of her novels. The connection and chemistry between Jake and Lucy is super hot, and off the chart sexy and will have you begging for more.

If you like a hot, sexy read, All the Waters of the Earth is the next hot, read for you. Leslie McAdam's knows how to write sexy scenes, hot male alpha's and strong female characters. This a definite must read for anyone wanting something sexy, flirty and fun to read.

I discovered Leslie when I read and reviewed a previous story earlier this year. I had enjoyed her writing style, creative work with amazing characters. I was slightly nervous to start this one. Mainly because liking a book is subjective and I'm also afraid to not relate to it. I cannot write anything but honest reviews because I find that my feelings show up on paper.
Looking back, I'm not quite sure anymore why I was nervous to begin with because this story went above and beyond my expectations. I can safely say that this story deserves an above 5 star review. If a book can make me cry, well it deserves " all the stars in the sky"

ARC of All the Waters of the Earth by Leslie McAdam provided in exchange for an honest spoiler free review.

Yes, this is a love story with plenty of steamy scenes that are just scorching hot. But underneath all that there was a powerful message that I abide to very strongly. LIVE an HEALTHY, HAPPY LIFE and to the FULLEST. One never knows when it can be all taken away in a blink of an eye. Home is where the person feels loved and safe.

This story is about Lucy, a single mother of a 12 y.o boy who's living her love life through her book characters that she writes about. She's a great mom, strong, fierce and sassy. She meets her next door neighbor Jake who lives for his work. That's all he knows, he takes no time for himself. Slowly together they will balance each other out in an healthier way of living.

It was so beautifully written that I cried of course. I love storylines that involve kids because they sweetened up the story. This story involved more of the flawed, damaged characters. Jake from his childhood upbringing and Lucy from being pregnant at 17. A story of a more serious nature. The characters that were just superbly crafted to fit this type of story. As it unfolds, I could see the characters changing to fit what this story was really about. Jake started out being a self centered workaholic and Lucy hid behind makeup and clothes. They were multi dimensioned that generated emotions that leaped from the pages and latched themselves to me. The story flowed well and was paced just perfectly. There were no unnecessary details.

This story grabbed my undivided attention from the very first page read to the very last one because it's very addicting. It made me feel all kinds of emotions but left me with a light heart and huge smile. What's great about writing up a review for an AMAZING book is that I get to prolong this journey for a few more hours.

This is actually the third book in the Giving You...Series. It can easily be read as a standalone because there is just one scene where the previous characters from the two previous books play a small part. Told in Lucy's POV only but I could very well feel and understand what Jake was going through. I strongly recommend reading this story. It will be worth the readers precious time and money. Book 1 and 2 come highly recommend also.

Shaking my damn head at Goodreads again, allowing me to review my own book.

Well, the parts I liked are Jake and Lucy. I really like Chapter 8.

The parts I didn't like are Carlos.

There was a blow job scene that I deleted. I posted it in my facebook group if you want to read it.

The thingsmydickdoes dude helped me write the chapter called Connections by giving me the positions.

And, uh, thanks all for reading. I love you.

Leslie McAdam has once again done it again. I think this is my favorite book of hers yet. After reading her other books, I just knew that this one would be filled with scrumptious hotties, sassy heroines, and swoonworthy sex scenes. I was captivated till the very end.

Jake and Lucy have burrowed theirselves into my heart and it was impossible to not fall in love with them. Lucy Figuero is a sassy, beautiful, hardworking woman who is a single mother and doing a great job at it! She is wary of trusting another man after the way her ex treated her. That is until she meets her sexy, intense, workaholic of a neighbor, Jake. Lucy is very carefree, yet responsible in everything she does and she plans to show her sexy, gorgeous neighbor just how much more there is to life than just work

Jake Slausen is a lawyer who works very hard for every dollar he has made in life. He had a hard childhood and has a workaholic ever since so he never has to live that way again. When Lucy saunters into his life, he is captivated by the curvy beauty who lives her life to the fullest. He is soon wanting more than long hours in the office and on his cellphone. He is wanting more out of life than just the job.

Leslie McAdam has a way of delivering the reader sassy hot characters and unique storylines that will teach you some lessons about what is most important in life. I love all her characters and the stories that come with them and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next.

So you think the cover of this book is hot? Wait till you read it.

I won't give away the plot, mostly because I personally love to be surprised when I read something. But I will tell you a little about the characters, who are beautiful and flawed and so real I feel like I know them. The best part is that they change throughout the book. They change because they meet each other, but also because they are strong people. They learn to forgive and let go, but also to hold on to what's really important.

I love that Lucy, who's a romance writer, creates these drop dead handsome men in her books. And then, to her complete surprise, one shows up at her door. Except he's not perfect like the guys she invents. He makes mistakes, and has a troubled past, and is wrapped up in work. But all those things, paradoxically, make him even more perfect and real and lovable.

My favorite thing about Jake, aside from the fact that he's YUMMY AS HELL, is the fact that he is willing to change and grow. And he takes care of Lucy. And her son. Like, seriously, *swoon*.

And of course, as with any McAdam book, the sex? It's sooooooper hot! And not just the physical act itself, but the things Jake says are out-of-this-world oh-my-god too.

This book is delicious. It's well-written (duh, it's by Leslie McAdam), sexy, and once I started, I didn't stop till the very last page.

GAAAAHHH!! The feelings are too much! How do you explain a book in mere words when it made you feel so much?

Lucy Figueroa's life revolves around fictional characters and fictional story-lines. Imagination is what gets her through everyday. If only she could imagine away her sad excuse of an ex. In her stories, her heroes are Alpha supermen but in real life she has only ever met men who define wrong . She is a single mom who is strong and independent. She has no need for a man. All she needs is a new book idea. Until she meets Jake.

Enter, Jake Slausen. He is everything that her Alpha fictional men are. Okay maybe not everything . Sure he looks like one of those ultra hot men straight out the pages of a steamy romance book but he doesn't behave like one. He is always distracted by his work and his phone. When you think of the word workaholic you automatically think of Jake. because of a rocky childhood, he has ignored his wants and has worked and worked. Until he meets Lucy.

Their chemistry is sizzling. Their story could be earth-shattering. But are they ready to g=let go of the past and accept each other?

I fell in love with the story from the first word. This is one of those stories that just makes you feel good and happy inside. (After you've cried a lot, of course!) The characters were amazing. The story was heart-melting. And OMG Jake is a sweet-heart. I love how one second he is shy and adorable and the next he becomes his hot superman. UGH!! So much yes. Lucy is my crush and I wanna be her when I grow up. No kidding! The best part was how real every character was. You could actually feel a connection to them. Leslie has created such a beautiful story with amazing characters. I can writes pages about how awesome she is and it won't be enough. ~Sonal

Another Fantastic Read by Leslie, This is the 3rd Book I've read from Leslie and they just keep getting better and better.

Romance Novelist and Single Mom Lucy gets a pleasant surprise when the Smoking Hot Suit Clad Alpha Male Jake moves in next door. On the surface Jake looks like he just stepped out of one of Lucy's Books but is there more behind this workaholic Sexy Alpha Male?

Just when I think Leslie has given me the perfect man, she goes and knocks another one right out of the park. Jake is very mysterious, and a complete workaholic but as he gets to know Lucy we begin to unravel just who Jake is.

This was a beautiful, heartfelt and Sexy story it was so easy to read, Lucy was such a strong woman who only wants the best for son, and works hard to give him the life he deserves she also has a vulnerable side and just wants to find love.

I really enjoyed this book but I knew I would as Leslie's other books were also fantastic. I love reading a book that makes you feel good while reading and this did just that, There were parts that turned me to mush, parts that made me fall in love more with Jake and parts that made me cry (but in a good way) This book is definitely a must read, and honestly Leslie just gets better as each book goes on, can't wait to see what comes next. Leslie you have certainly become a 'Must Read Author' I only wish more people knew your books.

This is Leslie's third book in the series. By the way these are standalones with in a series so you don't really have to read one to read the other. For me this book started off great. I loved the beginning of this book. Lucy is a romance writer and you see her trying to write and not really happy with what is going down on paper (or computer). Her inner dialog was humorous. This is her 16th book and you see her struggling in a funny way with the cliche's of the book.

So as I said Lucy is a romance writer who is also a single mother of a 12 year old. She meets her new next door neighbor who happens to be Jake, a gorgeous attorney. There is immediate chemistry between the two of them. Jake is a workaholic. He gets up at the crack of dawn to work out, comes back and showers and then he works until late in the evening. Wash Rinse Repeat...this is his life.

The whole single mom thing added a different dimension to this book. You have a women who is single yet has a child trying to date yet has to deal with the ex baby daddy while having to make a life and a living to raise and support her child on her own. I really liked that Lucy's character had a really a good attitude. She was happy and hardworking and a really good mother. And she was really good for Jake. She was really the force that showed him how to live life instead of just working through life and for me that was what this book really was about: learning to living your dream vs just getting through life.

This story! This story! It's a beautiful, angsty, emotionally griping story about love, strength and forgiveness. Lucy (our heroine) is strong, independent and a hot tamale. A single mom who is also a successful romance writer. She puts her son first, providing him a safe home and a loving family. Everything that her new next door neighbor, Jake Slausen never had.

All the Waters of the Earth is told in Lucy's POV until the epilogue. There's plenty of angst without Jake's POV, which only makes the story more riveting. I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster as Jake made some dumb ass mistakes. Jake is not your classic romance hero."He was too off-kilter with work, a little clumsy, and a lot of a talker."

He's hiding behind his career, it's his escape from life. Lucy won't accept less than she deserves. She won't accept Jake unless he finds away of coping with his past and a away of living his life, not his career. Lucy has her own struggles with her baby's daddy. It's Lucy's strength and acceptance that pulls her through the crisis that ensues.

The ending is beautifully hopeful. All the Waters of the Earth is about overcoming adversity and moving forward with living life. 5 Stars for the story and the cover!

** ARC PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW **

All the Waters of the Earth by Leslie McAdams

First , I have to say , WOW ! This is a first book for me to read by this author and I am so very glad I got the chance . It won’t be the last I can tell you . I already have her other books in my kindle right this minute . That being said , this book is about becoming the you , you want to be . Not the you , you think you should be .

Still with me ? Good ! Lucinda Figueroa or Lucy , as her friends and family call her , is a mom to a wonderful 12 year old boy , Roberto aka Rob . She isn’t looking for love , not by a long shot . She is content with her life as a romance author working on her 16th book , a nude model for an art class and full time momma . This lady is spunky and feisty and tells it like it is . She doesn’t let things fester . I love this ! It's refreshing to read , a heroine who speaks her mind without waiting forever and it causing all kind of communication problems . She has such a supportive family , I flove her sister . She is a gem even if she isn’t featured much in the book . I loved when she was in a scene .

“How’d you get one of them to come to life?” - Celia Figueroa

Jacob Slausen aka Jake , moves in next door to Lucy and Rob while his house is being remodeled . He is the typical workaholic guy right ? Wrong ! This gentleman looks like he could be on the cover of one of Lucy’s romance books or the hero . He is work driven yes , but he has a past that speaks to why he is so driven to success .

What I really enjoyed about Jake was how he never made excuses for himself . He was real all the way through the book . I loved that he fought through his fears and took a chance . Also , it has to be said , anyone , and I mean anyone , that comes into a kids' life and makes the effort , especially with Minecraft , is Aces in my book . As a momma of 2 kids that were nuts about that game , I totally get Lucy’s comment in her head .

"The annoying music of Minecraft droning on"

And not only did he take the time to learn it but he really took the time to play it with him and find out his other interests . That’s a man I want to read about all day long .

“I’m not interested in perfect . I’m interested in real .” – Jake

The first meeting between these two , Lucy can’t believe her eyes . It's like he walked right out of her novel . And Jake is a little taken aback as well . He was coming to introduce himself and before him is this curvy woman in a pink string bikini . One of the best meets I have read .

Getting the chance to watch these two fall for each other was pretty special . They both had to get over past hurts . Lucy with her ex and how she was treated by him . Not only that , but how she had to be cautious because of her son and who she brings into not only her life but his as well . Jake , by this family , but also how he was dealing with being so demanded by his work that he has set for himself . But finding out they both had a creative side was pretty amazing . The growth and maturity of this book really made me want to keep reading . You know I am the quotes lady and I have a few more to share .

This are more comments here how Lucy would say she wanted to get to know Jake better “for research purposes ." Yeah , we so got her number . Also loved that she would call him handsome .

I loved how he would kiss her nose , I mean swoon . Am I right or am I right ?

“I drew this curve today .” – Jake

“Show me your art . Show me what you’re hiding .” - Lucy

Last but not least , we need talk about the recipes in this book . I want and need to know what a tamale is and what it tastes like now . I will be googling chile rellenocasserole and what is in tortilla soup !

Lucy Figueroa is an author, a mother, a BABE, and has a really hot neighbor. Lucky for her, she has some cast iron ovaries and believes in being neighborly. She shares some tamales, borrows some "sugar," and gives Jake Slausen something to work for other than the office.
Lucy has kicked ass and taken names, and continues to do so, for all that she has. Her family, her son, her drive to be herself in her skin, makes her the epitome of Wonder Woman. She is her own alpha. The last 12 years have belonged to her and she knows that life is what you make it.
For Jake Slausen, that life hasn't been very rewarding. He has one constant in his life, work. He has his passions, his dreams, but they have never been nurtured. Lucy's expansive heart calls to his vulnerability, his artist's palette, and together they begin to create something real.
Reality has issues. There's insecurities, baggage, legal turmoil, just to name a few. Reality requires tenacity and motivation. There's no doubt Lucy is tenacious and Jake has his motivation. He is a perfectly imperfect man who sees a light in a woman that could bring him into a life worth enjoying. For once and forever.
Daaaaaannngg! Leslie nailed it! She's so good at making us want to hug our characters and not just to grab their butts!! I had no problem with my immediate crush on Lucy. I know cover models are hot and they help sell books, but she is the focus of my attraction. It couldn't have happened without Leslie's skills. She's developed some very real characters that everyone can identify with. Their love story wasn't written in the stars. They had to work for it. They had to communicate. Eeek! So don't miss a happily ever after that everyone needs to feel!

My Review:

I hate when I wait a few days to write a review because the high you get when you come off a good book is easily lost during that time. ( Note to self : Write reviews ASAP )
In All The Waters of the Earth you have this passionate, strong and loving story that is so true to life with the characters and their situations. I was grabbed from the beginning of the story and it was so well written that I never lost interest.

Lucy Figueroa, is a romance writer and single mother who loves and will do anything for her son. Lucy is one strong, independent, feisty, funny and sexy woman with all the right curves. I so loved her personality and the belief she has in herself. Those qualities that she has made it easier for her to handle unexpected situations in her life. Her only problem is her past choices with men. If they could only be as perfect as the fictional men she writes in her books. Lucy never expected her life to change the moment she met her new neighbor.

Jake Slausen, this lawyer is very easy on the eyes and puts his job before everything else in his life. Jake lets his damaged childhood dictate his future and he sets himself up to avoid falling in love. Jake is stubborn, strong, work driven but when his walls slowly come down it is his soft, caring, artistic, protective and loving side that made me fall in love with him. Will Jake be able to love Lucy and her son the way she knows she deserves and will he be able to face his past so he could move on with his future?

I loved everything about this story, the connection between Jake and Lucy is hot that I thought my tablet steamed up. The heartfelt moments of love between a mother and son felt so realistic, I loved Lucy's family it brought back moments of making tamales with my grandmother. I know I keep saying "I LOVE" it's just that I do. Having the characters from her first two books even though I have only read the second book The Stars in the Sky felt so good because they are memorable characters and add that humor and the meaning of how important it is to have close friends. All The Waters of the Earth is such a 5 star read and Leslie McAdam is becoming one of my must read authors.

ARC provided in exchange for a honest review.

This isn’t your regular romance book where the main characters are gorgeous, rich and always happy. This story is real to life. Lucy is a single curvy woman, who happens to be a single mother. Her ex boyfriend, Carlos, left when he found out she was pregnant. He has been in and out of his son’s life, but doesn’t always get along with Lucy. Then we have Jake who looks just like a supermodel, but works long hours and would rather be painting or drawing.

Jake moves into the apartment next to Lucy. It is instant attraction. But this is where life really shows its true colors. Carlos wants their son more, and wants to pay less child support. Jake continues to work long hours. But somehow these two continue to see each other.

I really enjoyed this story. The characters are great, and the story is fun to read. It doesn’t matter if you have read any of the other stories, they are all standalones. If you are looking for a fun story, this is the book for you.

Let me just start by saying the cover model on this book is smoking...I may or may not have periodically stopped reading to stare. Seriously, those hands, the suit....YUM!

All the Waters of the Earth is the third book by Leslie McAdam. I was introduced to her work with book 2 and have set up camp in her fan club. All the Waters is just another reason to be team Leslie. I love that she ties in the characters from her other books, even if its just a little cameo for some. You do not however have to read the other books to know whats going on. Each book is a standalone. So with out further ado...

Lucy is a single mom to a sweet book loving 12 year old. She works at home as a novelist and does some side work as a nude model. Model - not prostitute, not call girl, but a figure model for the local college art classes. She loves and takes care of he son. She does everything for him.

When the new neighbor comes to introduce himself, Lucy is suddenly thinking about more than her son. She discovers that though she is living no one has ever made her feel more alive. This could be a problem. Not only is he gorgeous, but he's not running scared at the idea she has a son. Jake may be a workaholic, but he is always checking on her. Though they got off to a rocky start this could really work, until her Ex gets involved.

Lucy's ex is dragging her into court and through the mud with accusations flying just to avoid paying child support. When tension runs high, Jake drops the ball and Lucy is left with the pieces of her heart. Not willing to jeopardize her son, she scrambles to shove it all inside and carry on.

Being a romance novelist, Lucy is aware that people make mistakes. She romanticizes everything. She realizes that life gives second chances but is she willing to put herself at risk again? Will Jake be more than the neighbor or is he already more?

I love the way Leslie writes her characters. Everyone has flaws and their own stories. I just seem to click well with her characters. Something about them pulls you in and brings you along for the ride. That being said, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I love when I read a story that feeds my soul. That introduces me to characters with gumption and tenacity. Characters who grow and create and live. This realistic, down-to-earth story about a writer and a lawyer is simply lovely. I just love that when you're reading a Leslie McAdam book, you know that you'll get characters who are true. It's not cliche, or over the top. It's relatable, and fun and in this case, makes me want to create. After looking back at all my quotes I highlighted, I realized that every single one had the word 'create' in it. That's honestly what this story is about. That beauty is created from nothing and we are all capable of such beauty. With hard work and drive, anything is possible. We are all creators, in our own way. Carving out lives that were never there before we existed. It's important to have balance and love and creativity and I'm thankful to Leslie for that reminder. I loved getting lost in this story and can't wait for more from this amazing author.

Another great book! I really liked that this was again so different from Leslie's other two books, not just another re-telling of the same story. Romance novelist meets hero material but he wasn't completely alpha which I loved! Jake still managed to be vulnerable without losing any of his appeal. And I loved Lucy self-confidence and healthy body image - such a relief to see a really well-written female character! And the mental images from Chapter 32 . . . .thanks Leslie! ;-)

Ok I am probably a minority here. I started off enjoying the story. I loved the banter between Will and Marie. But I could have gone without all the political talk. I am so over politics. LOL!!! And for me it just took away from the characters connection. I loved the storyline. And how Will was able to soften Marie up. But it was just missing something for me.

I already read this book 3 times ... I'm still having a crush on it!!
All the Waters of the Earth, was just an amazing read, with a storyline that will keep you wanting for more, a beautiful story about showing your real colors, the good or the bad and to take a chance on life.
Be wild, be you, don't afraid to love and enjoy the ride!

Review to come!

Leslie McAdam is Go author to me! I love how she could write passionate and smoking hot romance that made you head spinning.

It’s my second book and I’m still addicted. A romance novelist and a secretive workaholic lawyer? Sarcasm and smut? I’m in!

Lucy is a single mother of a 12yo, a successful romance novelist. Hot tempered, selfless and dedicated to her son. She’s got this sassy attitude, she’s strong and independent. But a woman has some needs, right? When a new neighbor, who seemed to come straight from a romance book, she was immediately drawn and mostly drooling over him.

Jake was the secretive and too serious hot neighbor. He was living for his job, dedicated to his clients. A routine well orchestrated until Lucy the firecracker turned his world upside down.  He didn’t know what was hitting him, a beautiful and sexy tornado, leaving him hanging for more. For once in his life, he found a new meaning, the electroshock he needed to be alive again.

I couldn't be a Leslie McAdam’s book without some smut parts and creative intercourse. I admit it, I love it!

The building of their relationship was very intense from the start but them made it work, through the issue of being a single parent fighting for her children, to settle down and taking chance on life and especially love.

How to find a balance when you don’t have a clue how to be happy or when you don’t have a real childhood or parental figures? This approach was managed in a very smart way. Jake had to confront his fears and move on, thanks to the love of Lucy and her family, proving that love is unconditional, that no money could ever buy it.

It was hot, swoony and heart warming. I really loved reading Jake and Lucy’s journey, being strong together, working as a team. Always listening to each other, with this undeniable and sparkling chemistry!

All the Waters of The Earth is a hit!

Ms. McAdam is Giving Me…the feels.

Romance author and nude art class model Lucy Figueroa is proud of her writing, her body and her son. She's proud of her cooking, her ability to believe in romance and love and how great her ass looks in a skirt. She's not so proud of her neighbor, Jake Slausen, when he connects with her then turns on the douche when he learns his colleague is her attorney in a custody case. But the connection between the two of them is undeniable, and soon the two are spending every minute together. And they're both determined to give this thing between them a real shot.

If there's one author that has the ability to make me laugh and turn me on every.single.time, it's Ms. McAdam. Her characters are so real, flawed yet redeemable, that I have a hard time putting the book down (and know a "friend" who has fallen asleep standing up so I...I mean SHE...could get in just...one...more...chapter). And sister, I gotta say, I know Lucy's mental question mark at her son's bizarre Minecraft obsession (the struggle is real, folks).

There's nothing dramatic or shocking about ALL THE WATERS OF THE EARTH, but it's a sweetly erotic love story about two differently damaged people who find one another and fall in love. Jake was a unique character, the artistic attorney. The man who wanted to make art but instead put on a suit and tried cases. Lucy was that sassy, confident Latina who had a good head on her shoulders and took her role as a single mother very seriously. The addition of Lucy's son Rob was AWWWW inducing and made this into a feel good family story that fans will love. This is the third book in the Giving You… series and I highly recommend picking up this fabulous author today!

Having the absolutely stunningly beautiful Mitchell Wick in your head for 4 days whilst you read a book has to be a great place to be, doesn't it?

And there he was, Mister Jake aka Mitch, with his jet black hair, sky blue eyes and his pristine suit getting all sexy in my thoughts whilst he frolicked in the pool and scoffed tamales. What in the world are tamales though? I thought they were some sort of stuffed tomato - I was clearly wrong.

Jake is an enigma. He is a workaholic sometime artist and a temporary neighbour to Lucy and her adorable Mine Craft addicted son Roberto. Oh Mine Craft, the source of too many arguements in my house between middle child and smallest child.

Lucy is five foot tall - like me! Curvy, Hispanic, tamale cooking author of romance books and sometime nude model. She confused me though because things she did/said contradicted other parts of the book and had me scratching my head. I love the word oxymoron so I'm going to throw it in here. Paradox, I like that too.

All the Waters of the Earth didn't have the same ooomph that I felt with Sun and Moon or Stars in the Sky. It wasn't that I didn't like the characters because I did, I just didn't get enough woo! I love the woo.

Things I loved about the book, curvy girls rock. Women are not all stick thin. Step dads who come into your life and make your kid fall in love with them are pure gold. Mine Craft, fort making, Olympic weight lifting (you had to be there) round of applause for step dads.

Leslie has great talent and she is inspirational, check out her profile and you will see what I mean. I'm so delighted to see her star shining. And to see more Mitch.

Best bit:

"He traced his fingers down my arms. "I drew this curve today." He moved to my fingers. "And this one." Back up the underside of my arms."And this one." Then his fingers traced down my side. "I drew this curve." And over my hip. "And this one is especially beautiful.""

Running away to find a man to paint me, one who looks like Mitchell Wick preferably, some Mexican food and some wedge heeled espadrilles.

All The Waters Of The Earth is a sensational piece of art. Reading this book was like watching an artist at work.
We begin with the blank canvas. We are slowly brought into the story with Lucy, soft brush strokes begin to outline her story and bring us into her world. Lucy is incredibly sexy and super Sassy, but has those cracks we all have from past heartache. I felt her immediately. Understanding the person behind the romance writer.
The artist continues, pulling you in deeper, now splashes of colour are added as we meet our hero, Jake. A complex, hot man who likes to wear suits for stupid amounts of hours. He's intriguing. The romance lover in all of us knows he has a past and immediately we can feel the attraction he has in Lucy from the first kiss alone. And the tingles Lucy feels are felt in us.
The artist is back, pulling back our focus onto the deep, sultry lines that now fill the picture, the tension between Lucy and Jake sizzles, the long sweeping brush strokes grab your attention and hold it, strongly.
Mixed with long, deep lines we get some intense bursts of colour, sharp, short lines that catch the breath and speed up the heart. Seriously the hotness that oozes from Lucy and Jake is off the charts.
Gradually, a picture begins to take shape, a story forms the writer of beautiful romance suddenly becomes the heroine with her own hero. This story is sexy, it's sweet. It has humour and sadness. My heart fluttered for these two and hurt for Lucy.
Through all my attention is held, hard and soft brush strokes, light and dark, pull together to leave us with a stunning masterpiece.
5 intense, artistic stars.

All The Waters Of The Earth feels like a true story of a single mom learning to love again after heartbreak and find oneself again. Lucy Figueroa, single mom of 12 y/o, support her family by doing what she loves; writing romance novels. Lucy lives in her imagination, writing alpha heros of all kinds, but when inspiration moves in next door can she take the risk? Jake Slausen is all work and no play but he has a reason. Raised in an unstable family environment has put Jake on edge and turned him into a workaholic. Can the siren next door break down his walls? Or will happily everafter only be an ending in one of Lucy's books?

Even though this is a series each book can be read as a standalone. This was my 1st Leslie McAdam novel I've read and it will not be the last. Leslie has a flow to this novel that grips you and won't let go till the final chapter. Lucy is filled with confidence and sass and even though she's letting a man into her life she's still so protective of her son, it was a beautiful thing to see. Jake is mysterious, handsome almost brooding neighbour that fears one thing but tries so hard to overcome. I swear I fell in love with him early on and you will too. Without going into huge detail, what these two have to overcome and deal with is what tons of single parents have to do everyday. 5 Stars for All The Waters Of The Earth by Leslie Mc Adam. I can't wait to read the other novels in this series now.

Single Mom - Sexy Neighbour

Jacob (Jake) Slausen featured in Book 1 as Colleague of Amelia Crowley, little did we know that he had such a sad history in his family that makes him as he is today, a workaholic.

Lucinda (Lucy) Figueroa, single moon of 12 year old Roberto, successful writer of romance novels, is having problems with her ex boyfriend, father of Roberto. Luckily for her she has Amelia Crowley as her lawyer to help her fight for what’s right.

Lucy meets Jake when he returns her red lace thong which he found left in the shared laundry drier. He has just moved into the condo next door temporarily, while his home is being decorated.

Jake becomes fascinated with Lucy’s ‘JLo’ figure and things heat up several notches, when Lucy is the posing nude model at the Art Class that Jake attend each week.

This is quite a steamy fast romance but there are issue arising for both Jake and Lucy. Can Jake cut back on his working hours? Can Lucy get her ex to do the right thing by her son.

Of the 3 Books I’ve read in this series, Lucy is my favourite Female character, I could connect with her more, Jake’s character development surprised me, compared to his persona in Book 1.

Overall I’m enjoying this MF series, one more to go, and I don’t have a clue yet as to Who will feature in the final book. Off to read it now.
