2.5 stars - with the additional half star for H. The h has no confidence, no spine, no shining moments. She is a doormat who is more than happy to lie down and take it from her land lady's unreasonableness, her ex's insinuations, even H's frustrations. I really couldnt be happy for her HEA! She came across as an awesome secondary character in another of Maggie Kingsley's works where she offers help unstintingly to Helen and Tom in times of their need. But in this book she never redeems herself as an individual.
When she starts out at her new job at the hospital she is running late. She runs into a giant of a man, who turns out to be her boss. They have sparks but both are afraid to let go. He lost his wife to cancer. She had a child and never married. Can they get their happy ending? What happens when her ex comes into the story?
