The first half was good , I liked where the plot was going and the book had its consistency, when I got to the middle the shift of focus was not what I expected. Too bad , for it could have been a great book if the plot was a whole. I wanted to read more about the characters in question and follow their evolution.

I found the first part of the book quite interesting - a review of the Kurt men and their questionable morals, but redemption is brought by the wife of the latest Kurt and their son. They make their life's purpose building and running a girl's school.

The second part of the book didn't appeal to me. The focus is shifted towards several students as they go through adolescence. I realize the author meant to provide an insight in their personalities and how or why certain events meant to transpire, but I don't believe this has been achieved and in the end it all felt shallow.

Good book, loved the first part where it highlights the story and lineage of the Kurts. Did not particularly like the second part, where the focuses shifts more to the girls. I found it rather dreary and it was harder to read. Overall it was a great book, but it was hard to read especially towards the end.

Good, but not impressing. A lot of details that didn't come to a meaning.
