Amazing read.

What an amazing read. This book picks up right where it left off & the action starts almost immediately. Once again my heart was racing during different chapters & I didn’t want to put the book down. I can’t wait to see what comes next. This was an amazing read, but don’t take my word for it...READ IT!

Vampyrnomicon picks up about a week after the first book in the series left off. Drake Matthews, Alison Monroe, and Jim Delmarco have destroyed most of the Washington D.C. coven, but Toni, the female master, has gotten away. Now they are looking for her nest so they can destroy the coven completely before she has a chance to rebuild.

However, other masters have come to Washington with the purpose of creating the first vampire city. Drake’s friend and mentor Professor Reese has also come to town to study the private manuscripts of the Spanish inquisitor Antonio Ferrar, who had his own experiences with vampires. It is believed by Reese that Ferrar knew the whereabouts of the Vampyrnomicon, the Book of the Undead believed to contain not only the origins of the vampires but the way to destroy them as well. Reese and the hunters are not the only ones looking for it—so are the masters who have come to town. This time around there are some in the police force that have actually seen the vampires and know they exist. Joel Preston, the special assistant to Chief Roach wants to stop the vampires and take down Drake Matthews as well. Officer Rodriguez, suspended from the force because of Preston’s influence, has decided to join Drake and the hunters. Can they find the Vampyrnomicon and finally kill the vampires?

Vampyrnomicon is as well written as the first book. It continues the story and begins to fill in the origins of the masters and their race of killers. We also get a tease as to one of the most formidable vampire hunters, Father Cushing. Scott M. Baker reminds us of the events of the first book without taking anything away from this story. Mr. Smith, the hunters’ contact to their mysterious benefactor is back and even goes to investigate the ruined nest with Drake in the hopes of finding clues to the location of the master Toni. Jessica, Drake’s reporter girlfriend is also back and annoying as ever (just my personal opinion). The pace of the story is strong and there is plenty of gore and blood splatter to go around. Vampyrnomicon is a great read; I highly recommend it.
Contains sex, violence and lots of gore

The tale of Drake the vampire hunter continues. This story has a little more horror in it than the first. There were a few scenes that I thought to myself, "Oh my god...How does someone think of that?" However, every single scene like that made perfect, dare I say, even logical sense for how the vampires would actually act. I was surprised by the turn of events. When book one ended, the vampire coven in Washington had been nearly annihilated leaving behind a single master vampire who had been horribly deformed. Since vampires heal many times faster than humans, it was questionable if our hunters would be healed enough to continue going after Toni, the master, before she completely rebuilt her coven. Despite their injuries, our hunters healed rather well and began their assault on the coven home where they exterminated the new vampires, but not the master. She was no where to be seen. Why was that? More masters heard of their failure and came to town to take over rebuilding the vampire population in hopes of gaining control of the entire city.

While the new vampires are building their strategy, Drake's good friend and self proclaimed vampire expert, Reese, comes into to town in search of the Vampyrnomicon. This is a legendary book that is supposed to contain the only way to permanently kill all vampires from existence. However, the book also contains information on how vampires could take over the world. It becomes the hunters's goal to get this book before the vampires get word of it. Will they find the book? What will happen when Drake and his crew discover that they no longer face a single master but instead five masters? Through all the mess will Allison finally admit to Drake that she is madly in love him? Read to find out!

Vampyrnomicon
Vampire Hunters Book Two
By Scott M. Baker

The Vampyrnomicon is a book that can be used to either destroy vampires or mankind, thus begins the race between the vampire hunters and master vampire Chiang Shih and her coven. The vampire hunters seem to be in the lead as one of their own can access the diary pages within the Smithsonian Institute that will hold the key to where the final destination is, but the vampires have a few tricks of their own up their sleeve.

A briefer synopsis: action, action, action, sexual encounter, action, action, action, epic ending. Oh yeah it is that intense from the beginning the novel jumps into the fighting and who doesn’t love it when the vampires are bad guys again? There is no redemption for these blood-sucking fiends, from the first page they are the monsters that used to haunt peoples nightmares not the modern day “will you save me” kind. I haven’t had the opportunity to read the first book in the trilogy, but this is ok, the author may have started right up where he left off with the first one but you barely notice all that matters is that you know vampires are bad and vampire hunters are good, from there you are golden. Although the vampires are the bad guys in this book the author encompasses their side of the story into the main plot making it hard to dislike them until they kill someone else who was completely innocent. This is definitely a fun book worth the read, but be warned it is an adult book with highly adult situations.

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I received a copy of Vampyrnomicon from the author via Innovative Online Book Tours.

Drake Matthews, Alison Monroe, and Jim Delmarco are all back in book #2 Vampyrnomicon and they are still hunting the vampires. In the first book The Vampire Hunters they had killed almost all of the vampires in the Washington DC coven. All except one of the masters, Toni. They are hot on Toni's trail before she has time to turn more people into vampires so she can start her coven again.

Master Chiang Shih and her coven of the most powerful and dangerous vampires arrive in Washington to help Toni rebuild the Washington coven. She is also after The Book of the Undead, The Vampyrnomicon. Drake and his team of vampire hunters are trying to find the book too. They each want the book for different reasons. The vampires want it so they can take over the world and live in the humans homes and use the humans as their slaves. The hunters want the book because it tells how to stop the vampires and kill them for good.

The Vampire Hunters the first book in the Vampire Hunters series was so much better than I thought it would be. I never thought I would actually like a book about vampire hunters and now I have read my second book about the hunters and it was better than the first one. Is it the story itself which made me like it or maybe it is the writer. I'm not sure I just know that it is a very good book or books. I can't wait to read the third and last book of the series called Dominion.

Vampyrnomicon has turned out to be a great second book in The Vampire Hunter series. Here the vampire Toni wants her revenge on the hunters that not only destroyed her and Ion's vampire coven but killed Ion in the process. Now the other vampire masters want the Vampyrnomicon so that they can raise the dead and rule the world. However, the hunters can't have that happen and if they can find the book first they can destroy all the vampires ridding the world from vampire forever.

The book did start out pretty slow and it took what seemed like forever to finally get to the part about what was really going on. In this book you finally start to get some back-story on the new members of the vampire hunters and also a little more into Drake Matthews. Despite seeming to take forever to get going overall the book was pretty great. Just as the first one this one was full of action and gory vampire killing goodness. I could gush on and on about this book but I would start giving everything away and I won't do that. I will say however that this book is more than just vampire killing. It has a love triangle thing going on too which makes for a good time, I would say there is a bit of everything going on in this one.

Vampyrnomicon follows the same vein as Vampire Hunters- Book one in the series. It full to the TIPPY TOP of ACTION. NOW, NOW, NOW. Blood is the color that is splashed on the pages until the book bleeds for its readers. This would be an excellent read for anyone that love Walking Dead or action-packed books. I know some tend to stay away from paranormal, thinking it's all hot lusty werewolves doing sweaty things with half naked women, but this book definitely does not suffer from that fate. The characters are more like to slay the werewolves than swoon over them.

That being said. For me, it had the same problem as the first book. I want more plot development and character arcs. I feel like it would've take a little more effort but the book would've been a hundred times better if you could really feel a connection with the characters. The storyline was a little better than the first one, but still lacking what a book the focuses on plot has- a direction or intention from the author.

I recommend this book for action lovers, those that love gore and cursing and badass MF'ers that no shit from anyone. If you like gentler reads, look somewhere else.

The Smithsonian, The Book of the Undead, Power, Blood, Gore and More crazy powerful Vampires, Oh MY!!!!!

In the first book the Vampire hunters do a lot of damage to the vampires.
BUT, the Master Toni escaped and is still free to make more. Que the bad ass vampires with Master Chiang Shih and the situation gets nasty.

Scott M Baker has an amazing writing style, building up his characters and plot line so believably that it is scary to imagine what actually does go bump in the night. There were times when in utter amazement I found myself wondering….”How does he think up this stuff!” Genius! I can't wait to read the third and last book of the series called Dominion.

If you enjoy a true horror book without steamy sexy sparkly vampires then you need to read this series.

Holy Moly! The author's writing style has developed SO! The characters are even more developed than they were in book 1 and I couldn't help but fall in love with a few of them. Experiencing this story line just keeps getting more and more awesome with every turn of the pages. I'll have to admit that the length kind of scared me at first, but there is so much action that you flip through the pages fairly quickly and don't even realize you're halfway done when you get up for a break. I can't wait to see what happens in book 3, Dominion :)

"Vampyrnomicon" is the second book in the Vampire Hunters Trilogy with new vampires rebuilding. Scott has done it again as he pens his plot and characters with more horror, gore and mystery. A totally enjoyable read, especially if your looking for the non-traditional vampire story. Highly recommended to all vampire lovers.

It was a little longer than it really needed to be to get the story told, and so it got a little slow, slow enough that I started to skim, which is a sign that something is wrong with the book. The story follows three people as they fight Vampires obviously. One is a reporter and is kind a hunter, but also a reporter who should be turning these guys in. It gets confusing TBH.
