I recently saw that an idiot who whilst insulting a favoured essayist, complain to her that I list trans creators. The epidemic of Snowflakes (presumptuous and poorly socialised US man-babies) continues still. A trigger warning then.

The channels which I list include train enthusiast, tall, bi, Scottish, mathematician, anarchist, modeller, asexual, marine biologist, photographer, older, het, Ugandan, theoretical physicist, trans, archaeologist, redhaired, model, intersex, pensioner, communist, farmer, autist, lesbian, Canadian, linguist, WOC, queer, cosplayer, astrophysicist, musician, cis, military historian and other creators known as Women.

Almost as damaging to the limited reference group are the channels with zoologist, ginger, other BIPOC, Australian, chemist, socialist, boater, RPG gamer, science educator, other LGBTQI+, artist, economist, French, linguist, naval historian, other neurodivergent, boat builder, lumber yard worker, table top gamer, Danish, fashion historian, writer, map maker, aviation historian, anarchist, economist and other creators known (outside the USA) as Human Beings.

Should the voices still demand a visit, apply for the emergency exorcism, seek a Taoist monastery or develop a hobby such as reading.

My feelings towards the dullard are similar to that of Ukrainian officers and enlisted towards the Moscow savage. Glory to Ukraine. Glory to the Heroes. Crimea is Ukraine.

Onto the book, dear friend. This book is a romance set in a thin fantasy setting. It accordingly manages to disappoint twice. I suggest a scan of other low rating reviews, which at time of the original, I was not permitted to view.

It is sad to admit but I do not remember finishing the book. I think that I did not. It is not a memorable series to me at least. I know that this was the last book in the series which I tried to read.

The word building is shoddy, if I am being generous. The mythology that underlies the books does not make sense to me. If there is a plausible logic to the magic, I do not see it. The struggle somehow is meant to be a slightly modified standard good vs evil battle.

The factional infighting among the good factions is incomprehensible. It occurs, simultaneously with a supposed urgency in besting the enemy. There is a contradiction there that goes beyond cross purposes. There is no character development to speak of across three books.

Editing might have created more fluidity to scene charges at least. It would also have added more heft to the prose. Mythology and Fiction Explained and Mythic Concepts are two YouTube channels which might have aided the writer.

Just in Time Worldbuilding would certainly have provided the writer tuition in creating a vibrant and plausible background.

It is at best, a light afternoon read and I do remember that it was not overtly offensive nor did it push some insane political agenda, which is common to Kindle Unlimited selections.

If you like the supernatural romance genre and do not require much by way of world building or character depth, it may satisfy you.

Because Low Effort storytelling is the standard at the low end of US print, I have stopped reading much current science fiction or fantasy. I only feel comfortable with that written by top tier writers who wrote books before 2010 to 15. It is easier to pop into a streaming service and browse the science fiction than trying to guess which print science fiction is serviceable or not.

I found the book tube on accident, which channels discuss all things bookish. 😍 The reader communities are thoughtful, usually courteous, have varied tastes or interests and are excited by all things bookish. I promise that the environments created are the antithesis of whatever Goodreads have become. Fortunately there are a number of alternatives which BookTubers will discuss.

Consider this a potentially a hostile site. 😐

Goodreads do not encourage discourse. As example, I wrote a short negative review of Powers of the Earth by Travis Corcoran. The book was acclaimed award worthy by Claes Rees Jr and likened to a Heinlein novel in the blurb. The blurb is now changed.

It is a more poorly written retelling of "Atlas Shrugged" set on the Moon. The rich protagonist heroically enlists the military in overthrow of the US government in order that he not pay taxes. I found the book and many like it, while a common in Unlimited to be dangerous, unhealthy and now prophetic.

Travis Corcoran self-identified as libertarian (now anarcho capitalist without wealth), advocate for the return of chattel slavery, popular US stance with the state of Utah completing the first forced labour camp for imprisonment of the homeless and legislative initiatives to extend the policy.

He also claims veteran status, being an employee of an unnamed US agency and admirer of Putin (another popular US stance among US patriots).

He and six fellow patriots were outraged and over a year wrote increasingly unhinged comments. They addressed my lacking intelligence, my presumed politics, the debt owed by the world to white men for creating history, the narcissism demonstrated by my refusal to engage and more.

I rather looked forward to new theories of Etruscan origins but was disappointed.

The irony now warms my communist soul.

The final comment was delivered by Claes Rees Jr aka cgr710 now ka Clayton R Jesse Jr. He declared after referencing the contents of my last message to a Goodreads friend, that They had "won" (?).

I discovered that They and many recruits had launched a year long tsunami of racist, anti-socialist and sexist comments against apparently every female creator whose channel I mentioned and it continues still.

The 13 year old boater and her mother, particle physicist, artist, fashion historian and other women creators were not impressed or charmed.

Despite that failure the world's overabundance of ugliness was certainly increased and They did deliver an accurate self-portrait of the Snowflake (vicious, poorly educated US man-child) to a multinational audience.

Those together seems were a Victory. Goodreads discourse, yay ??

Ominous music begins. 😊 The comment gangs exist on romance/romantasy and speculative fiction. Beyond comments, their behaviour includes doxxing, stalking, threats to one star reviewers and as US devolve into a police state, I imagine Swatting in the future.

My experience included the giving over to nutters my limited message history. From that followed a request through Pine Gap Centre that Australian Security interrogate the one friend whom I messaged occasionally.

The attempt at my personal history failed, though two outraged customers were created. I was also treated to my first hacking attempt, which may not have originated with Kindle. I cared little enough to not bother tracing it. To write a review may feel the epitome of tedium but dangerous I never expected.

I saw that a seventh EBay employee was sentenced for harassment of a couple whose small ecommerce channel was deemed unkind to EBay. The couple were awarded several millions and the ex-employee had been the Global Chief of Security or some such. If not a US reader, you are probably aware that US data corporations have been given free rein. Note that my adventures began years before the present.

Amazon expressed no concern until we widely shared our experience. At that point various harassment disappeared from my pages. Deleted page options were restored, all comments masked, all lurkers whom I had not been Allowed to remove, flowered were disappeared, etc.

The split keyboard returned mid-review, so it would seem the cowardly Snowflakes are emboldened once again.

To have a safer experience on this site I have suggestions. Remove all personal information from profile and avoid messaging. Remove all Lurkers, those who never post. They are likely monitors for a gang or an employee dummy (appropriate somehow) and not admirers.

Given the Goodreads penchant for Altering customer pages, the screenshot of the odd, ugly or threatening is very valuable. This might suffice.

Kindle is a more serious danger. Do Not use Kindle Files, Calendar, Contacts or Email. Amazon read email with neither notice or permission. I leave the implications to the reader's imagination.

Do Not "purchase" Amazon ebooks, as you own only your device, not the downloads. Those may be altered or deleted at Amazon's whim. There are BookTubers to direct the reader to alternative ebook and device vendors. They also suggest alternatives to ebook purchase.

All searches on Silk should of course, be innocuous and non-critical.

On both Goodreads and Kindle, you are vulnerable to both mental members and the employees who enable them. Neither group will ever ask "Are we the Baddies". They lack morality but They are US patriots with all that implies. Ominous music ends. 😊

Be safe and may we all experience good reading. 🤗

Overall review of the series...lengthy read and romance was weak..Spoilers beware

I was really into the series until at 80% of book two it got too descriptive and I felt like the storyline just drag. Too much world building still from exploiting the human female wolf to describing the surroundings of wherever the heroine was at. It got into a lot of telling and the dialogues between the characters were lost. The romance between the h and the queen's knight were like crumbs being given to the readers. I mean how can the h love him when he wasn't really into her. The romance wasn't much really between the h and the knight. He was a jerk to her mostly. I wasn't too happy about the h being portrayed as a fragile thing that has to be protected by everyone. Book 2 not much sword fighting from the h even though she has a powerful sword who doesn't help her too much. Then come the next potential suitor who got more interactions with the heroine romantically. With the way book two was going in the end, my invested interest on the series started waning. Don't get me wrong the writing was still good and the emotions of the characters still pulls you when they're given moments to speak cause the book was all about self dialogue of the heroine thoughts at 80% of book two. I think if the author ended book two at 75% with minimal telling of things like describing the bathroom while h was bathing, I would have given this series 4 stars. Oh yeah, book three which I just flipped to the end just to see the ending made this a 3 stars. Book one was the best one for it had more showing and dialogue time between the characters. Book 3 ended with the Cliffhanger too. Basically after the heroine invested her love on the knight that he ended up getting back with his love (the princess who was brought back to life). I guess now I know why the knight was cold and wasn't given too much of romance time with the h. I wish it was the knight who was after the h emotionally and the heroine was the cold one. The ending of book three was a big slap to the heroine. She lost the second h that she decided to be with and the knight was with his precious princess who he gave more emotions than the heroine. For me the whole series focused more on the heroine development as a sword bearer but it lacked romance that is swoon worthy. Books 1-2 only had two kissing scenes with the h and the knight. I wanted more but only got teaser moments. The others are with the knight making out with another women in the h presence.

I would still highly recommend this book if your not looking for hot romance with the main female being pathetically in love with a guy who's still in love with someone else and that you don't mind cliffhanger with no HE A for the heroine. The jerk knight got his though. Needless to say, I won't be following the series anymore. The author is a talented writer though so I would probably still read her other books.

This series so far is a solid 3.5. There are strengths: An interesting premise and world building, Characters who grow in different and similar directions, Characters you care about, and Twists.

There are also moments of eye-rolling, skepticism, and general frustration about plot points. This book felt long from the beginning and it was unclear what the central plot would be especially given how many books are left in the series. Leaving out spoilers, there were definitely points with the love triangle and the major twist where more time and plot development would have been interesting and would have helped. There are still many moments where it felt like plot points were being overly stretched out or sped up with little reason why.

I will read one more and see if things improve.

Dark Throne, book 3 of the Fae Chronicles, was another excellent addition to the ongoing story line. This must-read paranormal quest series was full of surprises, with lots of twists and turns to keep the reader glued to the page (or, in my case, eReader). I love the direction of the plot which ended nicely-- just before the author dropped a new challenge into Tess' lap. I'm especially happy with the direction of the romantic angle-- perfect. Top shelf entertainment wrapped up in a fast-paced, action-filled story. I'm anxiously awaiting book 4, the Lethe Stone, and will be in line to download as soon as it's available.

Amazing adventure

I absolutely love this world you have created and the adventures you are taking us on through your character's. I am enjoying the growth of Tess, Vell, and the others. Your work is seamless, effortlessly flowing. From the first page all the way till the last I am enthralled and want more. I was saddened by heartbreak, laughed with along side them, and felt joy with defeat. I am excited to pick up the next one and see where it takes them. I'm ready for their next amazing adventure.

The third installment of The Fae War Chronicles is very, very good. I loved the addition of the extra characters from the Mortal World, one of whom I believe will be my favorite in the coming installments. There were no disappointments anywhere! Plenty of action and we got to know the characters very well.

Anxiously waiting for Book #4.

The finale of the great battle is as exciting as the previous two books. As mentioned in the previous review, I'm very disappointed at the way the plot blocks a totally plausible poly relationship. Other than that, it's very interesting with a fascinating connection to the mortal world. I recommend this as I recommend the previous books!

I don't not like this book

It has a good story line and interesting characters but it was so drawn out I became tired of reading this last book. I may attempt to try reading more of this book at a later date but I just couldn't keep the energy up to continue on. Got to chapter 19 and have up.

The Dark Throne (The Far War Chronicles Book 3)

The war begin in earnest. Tess must rescue her brother and his fellows comrades. Will Finn tell Tess he love her? Will the fea win or will the dark lord fond victory. OK story and great fight scenes.

2.5 stars. Almost DNF. As it was, skipped more pages than I read in last half of book. Grossly over-padded with inconsequential details. Entire series could have been 2 books or perhaps even 1 lengthy book

The series seems like it could end with the fourth book. Honestly it could’ve ended with this one but something happened right at the end to extend it. I’m not sure how it will be stretched to 7 books total. I’ll keep reading though!
