Leading The Shenandoah pack consumes most of Thomas Collowell's time. The Alpha's job is never done. That had never been more true than when a killer targeting shifters strikes too close to home. He doesn't have time to deal with a mate, especially a human.
There is nothing Camdon Williams wouldn't do for his best friend, which is why he was the best man in Jessie's joining ceremony. While in Skyline Village, he gets more than he bargained for, including a strange attraction to the Sheriff.
When Camdon and Thomas are forced to work together to stop the killer, Camdon's eyes are opened to a world he wouldn't have believed existed. They both learn that there is no such thing as perfect timing. Sometimes, it's about taking a chance... before it's too late.
Taylor Law is a northern born, southern girl, with a free spirit. Taylor has lived in the southern United States most of her life, along with her huge Italian family. She started writing at a very young age; her first poem at six, her first song at seven, and stories followed directly after. She hasn’t stopped since.
A romantic clear to her soul, Taylor continues to believe the elusive ‘Happily Ever After.’ She lives in Florida where it rains regularly - yes, the sunshine state is a myth. She worked as a contract and civil litigation paralegal for fifteen years before publishing her stories. On any given day, you can usually catch her with a book in her hand or creating something.
For those of you that follow my reviews, you will know that Romantic Suspense is my favorite genre. And it doesn’t matter if it’s Contemporary, Paranormal or Sci-fi, I need to believe in the characters and be able to follow the plot. It doesn’t matter how hot the sex scenes are, if the characters are one-dimensional or the plot convoluted.
That being said…I LOVED THIS BOOK!!
Taylor Law has created a world that made me laugh, bite my lip and most importantly, BELIEVE.
The way the two main characters meet is priceless. Thomas is in the middle of a murder investigation, has issues with the Elders’ Council and if that is not enough, he must officiate a mating ceremony.
Enter a cute little red-headed human. His mate. He sooooo does not have time for this.
The romance between Camdon and Thomas is a nice slow burn. This is a huge plus for me. I hate characters that hop into bed willy nilly…Mate pull or not, I expect grown-ups to think before they leap. And yeah, I loved watching Thomas fight the mate-pull, while trying to fulfill his Alpha duties. This made for an intense sexual tension that neared to explode off the page.
I also love the Camdon is not a weak little human. His skills as a tracker help advance the investigation on several levels
The suspense unfolds in a realistic fashion that kept me reading well into the night. Several chapters are written from the killer’s POV. This is one of my favorite aspects of The Wrong Way. I love a bad guy who is more than just a bad guy. Loved learning his rationalizations for his sick behavior.
Now for my complaints. I wish that the secondary thread surrounding a secondary character had a more satisfying ending. While I appreciate Taylor leaving the door open for a future title in this series, I would like Thomas to have some sense of closure.
There is also the matter of Camdon’s backstory. Still a little sketchy on that one.
And the ending is by no means a traditional cliffhanger, but its damn close. The possibilities for the next Shenandoah Pack title are endless. Taylor introduced several secondary characters that could move easily into the main plot. My vote is for Justice…maybe.

Camdon and Thomas' story was a loooong time coming but was well worth the wait. Camdon is the human that Alpha Thomas knows is his mate but he doesn't wish to acknowledge the bond because it's not the "right time". Thomas is involved in the search for a serial killer that is hunting shifters. Camdon is a respected tracker and guide who is asked to use his expertise to help them find the killer.....without being made aware that shifters exist. This story has plenty of slow burn lust as well as twists and turns in the plot. Very enjoyable Has a few editing problems in the latter part of the book but doesn't detract from the story
I liked this one a lot more than the first book. It felt like there was way more world building this time, and the setting just felt fuller and easier to picture. I had a much easier time getting pulled into the story, and I felt way more attached to the characters. They felt more real and developed, and I actually cared about what was happening to them instead of just reading along.
The conflicts also felt way more intense in a good way. There were a lot more moments where I got that “okay, I can’t stop reading here” feeling. The cliffhanger-type tension during big moments really kept me hooked, and I liked that the problems didn’t get solved super fast. It made everything feel more meaningful and less rushed.
I also really appreciate the continued LGBTQ+ love stories throughout the book. That kind of representation is still pretty underrepresented in a lot of books, so it’s always nice to see it included in a way that feels natural and important to the story. It adds more emotional depth and just makes the world feel more realistic and inclusive overall.
Honestly, this one just felt like a solid step up from the first book for me — stronger story, stronger characters, and way more emotionally engaging. It definitely made me more invested in the series, and now I’m way more curious to see where everything goes next.
This was 5 stars until the ending. The story-line is great, the mystery was suspenseful and the romance was sweet but the ending let me down a bit. Thomas and Camdon have their HEA (Yay) but this ends with not an actual cliffhanger but definitely with an unfinished story-line. I want to know Justice's story, that tease is going to haunt me. LOL
It appears the author has stopped writing (hopefully I'm wrong), which is such a shame! Maybe with some luck she will decide to pick up writing again and finish the series.
● Paranormal ● Wolf shifter/human pairing ● Suspence ● A murder mystery ● Insta lust/love (strangely it works) ● Fated mates ● Great chemistry ● Not full of sex but definitely steamy ● Love the MCs ● Love the secondary characters ● Characters from Wrong Turn are in this one ● Not really a stand-alone ● Satisfying ending for the MCs but the story is unfinished
Review of Wrong Way by Taylor Law.(Shenandoah Pack Series book 2)
Camdon Williams has agreed to be Best Man for his best friend Jessie having no idea that Jessie was marrying a wolf shifter. During the ceremony he is struck by an undeniable attraction to the large older man who is presiding over the ceremony. It is apparent that this man must feel the same way and it unnerves Camdon.
Sheriff Thomas Collowell is the Alpha of the Shenandoah pack and with it comes a lot of responsibility. Most importantly trying to figure out how to stop a serial killer targeting shifters. The last thing he expected was to suddenly find his true mate, especially Jessie 's best friend who just happens to be a guy. No matter how hard he tries he can't seem to fully control his wolf whenever Camdon is around. Giving up his mate is not an option, he could care less that Camdon is a man, all he asks for is a little time to catch a killer.
When Thomas has to bring in Camdon to help him track a suspect and possibly find clues, he knows he's in trouble. There is no way he'll be able to keep his wolf under control and spend that much time together. Holding on to the little bit of strength he has Thomas starts to get to know Camdon and realizes he doesn't want to hold back anymore. But first he needs to tell Camdon his secret and hope he won't run far away. All the while the killer is getting closer and closer.
I enjoyed Wrong Way and loved Thomas in all his gruffness and vulnerability. I really liked Camdon and thought he was a good mate for Thomas. They had great chemistry and were pretty evenly matched.
The killer, "Mountain Man" was exceptionally creepy. The author did an amazing job with his personality and inner thoughts. From the first time we meet him, when all we saw was a cold sociopath who lacked complete empathy for animals, to the point when his hatred towards non humans became glaringly obvious. He was creepy.
The only thing I'd change about the story was how long it took for the two MC's to truly come together. It takes over half the book to get to the point where they're intimate. Camdon doesn't learn about shifters into I think 3/4 of the way through the story and it isn't until the end of the book that they are an actual couple. I would have really liked to see more of them as a couple and the adjustments they'd have to make with Thomas as the Alpha. Since this is part of a series I assume we will see more of this in the next books hopefully.
All in all I'd recommend The Wrong Way and I'll definitely be on the lookout for the next book in the series. I'm very curious about Justice and can't wait to read about his story.
4 Stars!

Any of you that follow my reviews might remember that I read and reviewed the first book in this series, Wrong Turn last year when it came out and liked it very much. Well, I have to tell you that I liked Wrong Way, even more! I loved how Ms. Law’s voice spoke to me from the book. The book was well written, and well edited, and I didn’t put it down once, from start to finish. She put things in this one that I’ve never seen in this genre before which actually caused me to seriously break out into laughter. For example, the scene where Cam and Thomas are deciding what to have for dinner, and they opt out on the beans since it will be the first night they spend together. Real world problems my friends…real world problems! I seriously laughed out loud.
Wrong Way brings us back to the characters we met in Wrong Turn, but this time the focus shifts to Camdon (Cam), the best friend of Jessie from book one. Jessie and his mate are having their mating ceremony and Cam is invited to be the best man. The only problem? Cam doesn’t know that he and Jessie are the only humans in the entire town and that everyone else is a shifter.
There is more to this book though than just the mating ceremony. The book instantly caught my attention with the prologue. In the prologue we read about a big game hunter, bored with hunting, who sees a huge wolf in the Shenandoah National Park and shoots it, only to have it turn into a man…who then begs for his life. Well done Ms. Law. You had me hooked. I was like….he can’t possibly shoot him….right?
What will happen when Cam meets the big hunky sheriff in the town where Jessie lives, and is instantly attracted? What will happen when Thomas, the sheriff, smells Cam in the crowd? Lots of enjoyable reading is what.
No more spoilers. I highly recommend this one. If you like shifters, I think you’ll like the story.
Book 2 in Taylor Law’s Shenandoah Pack series is a suspenseful story that starts with a grisly murder and keeps you on the edge for the rest of the book as the serial killer stalks and kills people in the Shenandoah Pack as well as a neighboring pack. Thomas is the Alpha of the Shenandoah Pack and as such he has many responsibilities and duties. One of them is performing marriages. When two males from his pack want to get married it is not greeted joyfully by all of the pack members so it is up to Thomas to bring everyone around to understanding that love is love. And then what happens? Thomas encounters a human man who he knows immediately is his own mate. Camdon is a trained tracker. Since the serial killer has figured out how to mask his own scent and cover up evidence in his killings, Thomas knows they need the help of a human tracker. I liked that in this story the weres were not all powerful. Yes, they have enhanced senses but sometimes they don’t know everything. Thomas doesn’t tell Camdon that he is now part of a pack of shifters so when the truth comes out it is terrifying and devastating to Camdon. The world building is well done and there are a few twists on the traditional shifter legends. Ms. Law doesn’t subject us to an information dump that sets up a complicated world right at the start. She eases us into her shifter rules and adds details throughout the book. I found that highly satisfying and made for an easy read. Although this is the second book in the series it can be read as a stand alone. The murders are neatly wrapped up, or are they? Hard to say. Thomas and Camdon get their HEA, but there is a loose end that is not completed, leaving the story with a quasi-cliffhanger that nicely sets up the next story in the series and I am really looking forward to it. I recommend this to lovers of mm romance, those who like their mysteries full of suspense, and especially to fans of paranormal stories.
I was really looking forward to this book and was not disappointed. This book was a great addition to the series and now I can't wait for the next one.
In this newest book of the Shenandoah Pack series, we learn more about the dynamics of the Pack and meet more pack members. Alpha Thomas has his hands full running his pack. His council members are unhappy about Xander having a male mate and there is a serial killer after the shifters. While presiding over Xander and Jessie's mating ceremony, he runs into Jessie's best friend, Camdon. Camdon is Thomas' mate, but he feels like he can't take the time right now with Camdon. He is hoping to catch the killer and then work his way slowly into knowing, then hopefully mating, Camdon.
Camdon has never felt like he fit in anywhere. Having been a foster child for years, the only family he had was Jessie and his mom. He finds himself strongly attracted to Thomas, but doesn't expect much to come of it.
However, fate doesn't allow for them to go their separate ways. Thomas' wolf does not want to be away from Camdon. In addition, they need Camdon's skills as a tracker to help find the serial killer before he tortures and kills again. Thrown together to find the killer, they start to get to know each other.
The mystery of the killer was very good. I liked watching Camdon realize that he now had others who cared about him. Thomas also needed to adjust his perspective. I enjoyed this book and hope that Justice is the focus of the next one.

Timing is everything for these fated mates... I really enjoyed this book, I’m always entertained by an incredibly dominant alpha shifter who is so very indignant about his loss of control when he meets his fated mate. With their instant attraction overwhelming them both, the chemistry between Thomas and Camdon is intense, even though Thomas is hoping he can just ignore it until it’s more convenient. Sure. No problem. The responsibilities holding Thomas back are hefty though, with a series of increasingly brutal attacks on shifters in a nearby pack. The serial killer, a misguided hunter convinced that his own sense of morality justifies the hunting of shifters, is a formidable foe and the suspense escalates with the murders striking closer and closer to home. As Thomas and a neighbouring alpha lead the hunt, Thomas reluctantly includes Camdon in the search, and the tension mounts between the lovers, with the shifter’s secret lurking between them and alienating Camdon. I loved that Camdon is so fiercely independent, he’ll need to be to balance the sheriff’s alpha nature; I can’t wait to see the mischief Camdon and Jessie will get into in the third book now that the secret between the two friends is out. I’m also anxious for Justice and Owen’s story, I’m already angsting over that sweet omega who carries so much hurt around. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Suspense, intrigue, love, honor, heartache, heartbreak, healing, mischief, and so much more is wrapped up in the pages of this book.
We start with a pretty intense prologue, then jump to a year later. During that year a lot has been going on. And we find ourselves at Jessie’s wedding. Now you don’t have to read book one to understand or appreciate this book, but if you want the full back story on Jessie then, grab book one.
This book, we are introduced to several players, two of which make this book very important, all of them give the book and hopefully others enough enjoyable story that should keep you up way past your bedtime.
Cam is Jessie best friend, not had an easy life, but has also made sure he’s made the best out of everything he is handed.
Thomas is the Alpha and is not ready for a mate, he’s too busy, too scared and just too.. So when he scents Cam for the first time he knows he’s in trouble.
Cam and Thomas have an unique relationship, and watching these two dance around was brilliant. Not only do we have a horrendous crime to solve, a secret to keep, and a relationship to build. We’ve friends on both sides doing everything in there power to see these two happy.
Problem is we’ve a few people that don’t want to see this.
This secondary story, will also capture your hearts, reading the whole time, hoping the whole time that these men realize they are there to help heal each other.
As sheriff of a small town, and Alpha of the pack, Thomas Collowell has faced challenges before, but nothing as grave and life-altering as the one he is facing now.
His pack is being hunted and killed. Someone is after the Shapeshifters. And he has to find out who it is before another person gets killed. He is fighting an unseen, unknown enemy on one front, and on the other, he is losing the battle to this strong attraction he feels for Camdon Williams.
Part love story, part thriller, the Wrong Way is a fast paced, engaging read. The heat and undeniable attraction between Thomas and Camdon leap off the page. Their chemistry is so strong that you cannot help but root for both of them to take the blinders off and acknowledge what is happening between them. Character development needs some work, as I felt that there was more to these characters than what I had read off the page.
There were also parts of the story that were left unanswered. Now that Camdon is aware of who they are, how does he feel about being around shapeshifters? Is he willing or open to having a relationship with the Alpha of the pack? And how will the council react to knowing that the Alpha of their pack is in love with another male?
One thing that Taylor Law is good at is building up to the next piece of the story. As Law wraps up Wrong Way, she leaves the reader with questions and at the edge of their seats as she sets the reader up for the next part of the series.
I got the copy as a ARC review for an honest review. Camdon is so broken plus his mate doesn’t want him. He looks elsewhere to a Master who hurts him. He knows he attracted to this man but clearly this man doesn’t want him. He tries to shake it off. Will it work? Thomas does not want a mate ever! He has been though enough. Certainly not a human! Not Camdon! Thomas is an Alpha who is not happy about having a human mate. How long can he hold off and not give into the pull? The character development is off the charts. You really feel what they are feeling. You get to know their personalities. What makes them tick. As you go through the book you will be amazed how you get to know nitty gritty of the personalities There is humor in the book, sex, mating. Anything you could ever want in a paranormal. It’s a different take on it. I love this look at the tired cookie cutter paranormal book Strong women. Plenty of Alpha Male! Oh, there is also a killer around who wants to experiment on them! Yes there is a lot going on in this book. It’s fantastic and will leave you wanting more from these men. I can’t wait for the next book!!! I have to be honest and say that I bought this book. Yes, it’s that good! I re-read a lot and I will be going back to this book often
Review by: multitaskingmomma My Rating: 4 of 5 Stars
I love mysteries and Wrong Way opened with a bang and I got hooked. After that, I stayed on because I was intrigued with how Thomas was going to deal with his very public discovery of a male mate. Both stories within this played each other well even when at times it didn't make sense until the last third when it all did. By that time, I was rooting for Thomas to declare his love for Camdon. When he finally did, well, I huffed and wanted to smack Thomas upside his head. Idiotic man nearly went and ruined it all. Thankfully, Camdon's best friend came to the rescue.
Now there are things happening here that were left unanswered for the mystery deepens. The ending, that made me stop and glare at the text in the reader for they were not what I wanted to read. Fortunately, Wrong Way is a solid plot and am left very anxious for the next installment. Also, anxious to find out the secrets one side character kept.
Note: I received an eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. Now I am demanding the third installment for I want it in my hands like, yesterday.
I had the distinct pleasure of getting the chance to read Wrong Way before its release, and I felt incredibly fortunate for it. If I keep reading shifter books that are this good, I’ll have to start including them in my favorites. I didn’t read Wrong Turn first, but I will be going back to read it. I may have a few spoilers from not having read it first, but I don’t feel like I lost anything along the way, so it can be read independently of the other.
There are so many things that are done right here. The writing is great, the pacing is great, the characters are great, and the plot...Well, Law took the concept of shifters being hunted and made it her own with such assurance that I would have thought it had never been done before.
I desperately want to know more about the characters, especially Justice and Owen; I cared (and care!) deeply about them. Law brought me up and down and backwards and forwards and sideways
If I had one complaint, it would be that I felt the book could have benefited from another Owen scene, just to keep things going. As long as the author gives me another book, though, I think I can forgive her… ;-) If you’re considering the read, hit the button.
Well I'm feeling smug today. I was lucky enough to recieve an ARC of Taylor Law's up comming novel "Wrong Turn" in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
Wrong Way is so very right! I'm not sure how much I can say without giving away too many spoilers but Taylor Law really hit the ground running. Wrong Way is a paranormal suspense thriller that really goes the distance. The action starts on page one and she really keeps your attention until the very end! Thomas Collowell is the Alpha of the Shenandoah pack and Camdon Williams is the human that unknowingly gets pulled into a world he never knew existed. I know what you're thinking cue the instant mate love story; well you'd be dead wrong.
Between investigating murders and searching for a killer, you have a thrill a minute story that has the bonus of a very hot romantic connection. Taylor Law has really taken this story on a different path and it was absolutely the right way.
I was so looking forward to this book ever since I devoured book 1, and let me tell you, it was worth the wait! You will love Camdon and Thomas's story, I know I sure did!
Camden acts as the best man at his best friend Jessie's joining ceremony, a testimony to how much he loves his best friend because he is so uncomfortable, then he sees the big sexy hunk of guy and doesn't understand the pull he feels toward him.
Thomas couldn't be more shocked, 1 at the horrible timing of finding his mate, and 2 that his mate is a man! As pack Alpha he knows that this won't sit well with everyone, but he has bigger problems. People that Thomas knows are being targeted, can Thomas find out who the madmen is before he hurts the one thing that has come to mean the most to him...his mate!
The push and pull between Thomas and Camden is electric, and you will not want to miss a minute, and the way Taylor sets us up for book 3...brilliant! Thanks Taylor, for a book 2 that is all I wanted and so much more!!
I went into this having not read the first book, but I'm definitely going to go back and get the first book because I really enjoyed this!
I especially appreciated that this is not just an insta-love, jump into bed right away, type of shifter story, and that both men are strong, capable, and solid characters. I thought the plot was interesting, the bad guy was super creepy and very bad so my attention was grabbed right from the beginning, and now I want to know more about these characters! Also, Thomas and Cam had great chemistry from the start.
My one little wobble with this story, is that Thomas and Cam don't fully get together until like the last 10% of the book. I would have loved to have gotten to read about them being a couple for a bit longer before the story ended, and what the fallout would be with the alpha having a male mate.
I will definitely be on the lookout for the next book in this series, I really enjoyed reading this one!

Camdon is a hunting guide and tracker, who happens to be best friends with Jessie. Unknown to Camdon, Jessie is now part of a wolf pack. Camdon meets Thomas, the pack Alpha, at Jessie's joining ceremony. The attraction between them is instant and the two men get to know each other better over the next few weeks as they try to catch a serial killer who is preying on the sifters leaving mutilated bodies behind. Things go awry when Camdon finds out that shifters exist. I found the story very enjoyable. It had action, a solid plot, great characters and good dialogue. The only reason the book didn't get a 5 star was that the editing needed work especially in the last third of the book. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series as I hope it deals with that poor little Omega, Owen. I received an ARC in return for an honest review.
Just after I started reading the ARC of this book, my pre order downloaded. My opinion covers both. I love a good mystery in my romance reading, this book collected bodies like one of the best Midsomer Murder episodes ( Brit TV). The cast of characters are strong and I can see them all in their own books. Having said that, WTH is going on with Justice and Owen??? This needs to be the next book.... Just sayin! Thomas and Camdon fit well together but you would have thought that after the shenanigans with Xander and Jessie ( who by the way, it was great to catch up with) that Thomas would have been quicker on the big reveal. Our bad guy in this book is chilling and scary by his very reasonableness. Thoroughly good book!
I think I liked this one better than the first which I really liked the first! We met both characters in the first book (Wrong Turn) and I just hoped they would both get a book. Law did even better by giving them one together! I really liked Cam and Thomas together in this story. And Law did in the first book, she delved a bit into secondary characters that we know will get their own book and make the reader ache to get their hands on it. This book has shifters, an M/M love story and a crime that needs to be solved! So many great ideas in the storyline yet none of them fail to grab the reader from lack of plot! Another recommend for M/M readers!
I feel like I've waited an eternity for book 2, it was definitely worth it. The Shenandoah Pack series is a great mix of shifter, suspense and romance. The story was well written, kept you guessing till the end and left you with a lot of questions that I hope to be addressed in book 3 ASAP.
Loved this book, love this series and highly recommend this book.
Loved this book. I just discovered this series and it was great. I read books 1 and 2 today and now have to wait until book 3 comes out. I thought it was well written and very enjoyable. This story had great characters and a well done plot. I can not wait until the next book comes out. I am sure I will read these books again.
This book was amazing!! The edge of your seat suspense, the characters, the whirlwind of emotions will have you not wanting to put this book down until the last page. This is the second book of The Shenandoah Pack. Taylor Law knows how to tell a story and she does an outstanding job.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I really loved this book, the pace was fast and intriguing. The characters Camdon and Thomas were great. The love love was sweet and entertaining.
I enjoyed part two. We see more of Jessie and Cam and Thomas are great. The serial killer is a good exciting plot. The book ends well but leaves us waiting to get Justice's story!!
What's up with books paid for now protected. Now saying can't read on fire already own this book. Two more books the same : Finn Again by A G Alexander , My Man Declan by Amber Kell.
I loved everything about this story. I hope book 3 is Justice's story. This is an easy read. Flows perfectly. Fast paced, filled with excitement. I loved it.
