Shadow's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

This was an enjoyable little romance, a departure from the author's usual historical romance.

Porsche has loved Cody all her life, but he has never paid any attention to her. In order to attract his notice, Porsche decides she needs a fake boyfriend, and hot dancer Brandon fits the bill. For his part, Brandon decides to play the role of fake boyfriend until he can convince Porsche that he should be her real boyfriend. As the attraction between them grows, they face some major challenges, including family, friends, and Brandon's own secret. Can they overcome these challenges to actually develop a relationship.

The characters were all likable-caring and warm, but with some flaws. The story line was complex but not too difficult to follow, and the sex was hot but not overly explicit.

Overall this was just a delightful little romance.

Porsche´s had her heart and sights set on her best friends brother since the age of five, so when she gets a chance to finally catch his eyes, she´s taking it. Even if it means pretending to have another boyfriend. Porsche´s just not prepared for what this will mean for her...
Brandon finally has found a place that feels like home when Porsche comes along. If pretending to be her boyfriend will make them closer, he´s ready to do it. He´s going to show her just what a man is supposed to do when he´s taken by a girl.
Contemporary romance, strippers and smutty fluff in a great combo.

I enjoyed this story with an exciting beginning, lots of light humor and a hero who really wants the heroine. There was a very heart tugging thread plus the feeling of family and friendships made this a good book. Porsche asks the new sexy dancer on the ranch ex-SEAL Brandon to be her pretend boyfriend so she can make the boy she's always loved jealous.

Porsche is cutting through a pasture to welcome the love of her life, Cody, home. She forgot not to cut through fields of a working ranch...where there are bulls....and she's wearing a red dress. NOT GOOD! She sees the bull and unfortunately he sees her. She can't run, so she just stands still..until her knight in shining armor rescues her!! Her hero is one Brandon Stewart. He's here to help out his friend on the ranch they call Double Stud. It's a working ranch with a twist and the twist is hot cowboys perform for women!!

Brandon has returned home from a tour overseas. A tour that cost him something dearly. His brother, Mark, told him he was no longer a whole man and Brandon took that to heart and feels pretty useless. That is until he sees a beautiful woman in a field where there's a bull. He rescues her, but who knew she'd wind up rescuing him!

Porsche has been in love with Cody since she was five. She comes up with this insane idea to make him jealous and hopefully notice her (because he never has). If she can get Brandon to be her "pretend boyfriend" she thinks it'll make Cody fall in love with her. Will her plan work or backfire? Or maybe her future isn't what she thinks it should be!

I was hooked from the first paragraph of this book! The story line, the characters, the location, not to mention an adorable puppy were all perfect!! The bantering between Porsche and Brandon had me laughing so much! Porsche and her friends are all strong characters and take no BS off men! This is an amazing book and I would highly recommend it!!

Cowboy to Command is the 2nd book in the Stripped Down Series. Yet again we find ourselves back at the Double Stud Ranch. A real working ranch that also hosts hot Cowboy Stripper weekends. This time the story revolves around a former Navy Seal turned dancer, an overprotected little sister (who is a grown woman! Just don't tell her brother ;) and a love triangle like no other!

Seriously, I thought I loved the first book in this series, but this one just blew me out of the water! From the very first heart stopping scene I was hooked and a little in love! Not only does Sabrina York deliver swoon worthy love stories that keep me flying through the pages, she has a way of writing that just makes your heart feel complete. I wish I could put into words how much I loved this book! I think this is my new favorite series! There's just something comforting about the characters and their stories.

If you are new to the Double Stud Ranch I highly suggest starting at the beginning with Stud For Hire (you won't be sorry) then immediately jump to Cowboy to Command and you will see that this series just gets better, hotter and so much sweeter! Love heartfelt love stories that just leave you feeling content and this one delivered and then some!!

#2 in the Stripped Down western romance series

Once again we visit the Texas ranch where sexy private parties are held, featuring male dancers. (I picture Magic Mike.) We get to know Porsche better, one of Hanna's friends from the previous book. Porsche is very likable--she's funny--with a dry wit--and she's not afraid to poke fun at herself. She has loved Cody (ranch owner and her best friend's brother) since she was a child, but Cody doesn't look twice at her. So she decides to make him jealous by having a fake boyfriend, one of the new dancers. Brandon, having taken one look at Porsche and fallen in love, is more than ready to agree. As you would expect, they really fall in love. Entertaining scenes with Ford, Porsche's overprotective brother, and well as with many of the characters from the previous book. Very hot scenes with Brandon dancing and well as more private moments. Sweet, nice, predictable--in the best way. Loved-loved the way Brandon's handicap was treated. Porsche was totally mature and wonderful and supportive about it, which mean, of course, that York did a great job in handling it. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to Cody's story in the next.

Why is Sabrina York so good at writing all the stuff!?! Historicals, contemporaries, westerns…seriously, she does it all so darn well. Although I liked the first book in this series, Stud for Hire, more than Cowboy to Command by quite a bit, I can’t see myself writing off this series entirely. Cowboy to Command was super funny, adorable and sweet. It has a likable hero and heroine and a tight-knit community vibe with both males and females that is hard to find in contemporaries outside of sports romances and women’s fiction.

Now I must say that the heroine in Cowboy to Command, Porsche, was a bit whiny for my taste. As well, I’m not exactly sure who Porshe exactly is still. We knew about the people in her life (crush, best friend, overbearing brother) but I’m not clear on a whole lot else. Hobby-wise, career-wise, life goal-wise, I’m not sure of where she wanted to be. Seriously, who is Porsche? Although Brandon also seemed like a wanderer (I give him a bit more of a break…his military career was cut short after all) he was incredibly likable. I’m still on the fence as to if Porshe was likable (sad but true). Although these two weren’t exactly the competent hero and heroine I usually enjoy reading, it was hard to not fall in love with the premise of the book.

Which gets me to the best part of this book, the plot. For being so seemingly simple, this fake boyfriend tale surprised me over and over again. The cast of characters, Porshe and Brandon’s family and friends, meddled and misunderstood and moved these two right into some difficult places. I felt a bit off-kilter reading the book because I just wasn’t sure what was going to happen next. I enjoyed the feeling of anticipation this book built and the sense of unknown. The meet-cute, the steamy sex, the dark moment, this book really did have everything romance readers expect from a really good Texas-based contemporary romance.

The Double S Ranch premise, Sabrina York’s unique ability to blend wit and momentum into her dialogue, and the Snake Gully setting of these books will keep me coming back for more. The next book comes out in January and I already have it on my TBR list since I just need to make sure Cody gets his head screwed on straight finally.

Final Thought: Did anyone else having trouble keeping Cody and Cade straight? I kept having to go back and clear them up in my head. Please tell me I’m not the only one!

Loved this one! A fun read and very well written romance about an injured war veteran 'dancing' at a working cattle & 'stud' ranch and meeting the woman he can finally settle down with. A fun addition to the series - can be read as a standalone. I've read the books in this series out of order (as per usual...sigh) but had no problem sorting out the various friends/family members in their roles as secondary characters. Each book focusses on a different couple. I recommend this book, from one of my favourite, 'buy now, ask no questions' authors.

I love this story and series.

The characters are so well written and fun to read.

This book centers on Brandon and Porsche. We have met Porsche in the other book. She was been written as someone who as been in love with Cody since she was 5. She was getting tired of of waiting for him to notice her.

She and her best friend Claire come up with a plan to get Cody to notice her. The plan is to make her seem unavailable. They run into Brandon and ask for him to be her pretend boyfriend. Brandon has been interested in Porsche since he first lays eyes on her so he agrees. His plan is, in order for her plan to work, they have to spend a lot of time together. This is time he can use to woo her and get her to notice him.

I really liked this couple.

“She always believed in him. She always supported him. She was his miracle.”

Her Royal HOTness, Sabrina York, has written this reader a broken hero! My fav!!

Brandon is an ex-Navy SEAL looking for a place to call home. Moving place to place in his camper since his honorable discharge from the service, he gets a job at the Double S Ranch. Now for those not familiar with this series, this is not just any working ranch…it doubles as a stud ranch on the weekends, where the cowboys bare all…well, almost all!

Porsche has been in love with Cody Silver since she was 5 years old, and she’s quickly seeing time pass her by with no luck in having Cody notice her. After meeting Brandon, she’s hatches a plan to get Cody’s attention…she’ll fake boyfriend him into noticing her! After all, you don’t know what ya got till it’s gone.

Brandon agrees to help Porsche in her “Operation Let’s Get Cody”, but not necessarily in the way she thinks…he sees this as a way to get to know Porsche better and in return get her to notice him!

I loved so much about this story! I loved that Brandon wasn’t perfect and that Porsche went after what she wanted and big brothers be damned if they got in her way! I can’t recommend this story enough! Read it!

Porsche has been in love with Cody Silver since she was 5 years old, but unfortunately, Cody has yet to notice her.
When Porsche finds herself in the path of an angry, charging bull, a knight in shining armor, or more accurately, a hot cowboy on a horse, comes to her rescue.
Brandon is staying at the Double S Stud Ranch until he can find a more permanent place. Fresh out of the Navy, this former SEAL, is recovering from a tragic loss when he rescues the most beautiful woman he's ever laid eyes on, Porsche.
When Porsche gets it in her head to try and make Cody jealous to make him notice her, she propositions Brandon to be her fake boyfriend. He agrees, but doesn't let on that he has ulterior motives. He wants to make Porsche forget all about Cody.
This is another winner by Sabrina York! I'm loving this series. Porsche is a strong, sassy southern woman, and Brandon is a soldier with a heart of gold. Even the other characters were well developed, quirky, and had great, well developed back stories. Can't wait to see where Ms. York takes us next!

Sweet, Sexy, and Oh so hot!

The sweet romantic story is just another in the long line of hits by Sabrina York. Cowboy to Commsnd is such an excellent well written story, I couldn't put it down! Actually there were times in the story where I thought she was wrapping it up, only to be delighted to see there was still much more! I couldn't help but fall in love with Porsche and Brandon. They complimented each other so well. This story was full of surprises. From the unconventional way they met? To the reason their relationship started in the first place. The Development of their friends and family around them made you feel as if you were right in the middle of the Double S ranch and all the fun they were having. Never a dull moment, I read this story straight through in a few days late into the night!
Sabrina York never disappoints. Highly recommended! Loved this story!!!

I really liked the first book in the series so of course I had to read the next one. Unfortunately, this book really hit the mark and the heroine's actions really turned me off so much that I lost interest in the book and couldn't (wouldn't) finish it.

Porsche was completely selfish and used Brandon. Brandon had actual feelings for her, even though he didn't let on to Porsche, he jumped at the chance to be her pretend boyfriend just so he could spend more time with her. I felt that Brandon was portrayed as more of a charity case than the decorated war hero he was.

I lost all respect for Porsche right away and didn't want to finish the book. It was sad more than anything and there was no redeeming the heroine, in my eyes.

It's no secret Sabrina York's books are some of my favorites, but this one lives up to the writing I enjoy. Ms. York brought us a retired Navy SEAL who wasn't alpha, but he was no less masculine or commanding in and of himself. I found myself enjoying Brandon's whole way of doing things (and his confident masculinity reminded me of Mr. SM's). He's not your typical SEAL, but then Porche is not your typical young woman. Her initial motivations showed how stuck in the past she'd become, but Brandon's patience and confidence made her see how she'd stunted herself. I liked their interaction a lot, and Ms. York imbued it with her usual fantastic humor. Great continuation of the series.
