Enemies come in many forms, and they are not always what you think. Jacob Murray has learned that lesson, but it haunts him once again. The tides of the war have finally changed and the British are beginning to gain ground over their French adversaries.
The French sit within the walled city of Québec, waiting for their enemy. Jacob and Maggie are still apart, separated by thousands of miles of unfamiliar wilderness. Despite this adversity, they each seek a way to find what remains of their family.
Faced with her own challenges, Maggie finds unlikely friendship and assistance from what she believed were her enemies. Following an opportunity to track down her son, she journeys to Québec City, where she finds a city preparing for a siege from the British army, who are determined to end the war.
Jacob faces his own challenges, and finds he is often forced to fight not only his enemies, but also those who should be his allies.
Blind Faith tells the story of deserters, a country controlled by the church, and the walled city that holds many secrets.

I am an independent researcher of early North American life, a raw historian at heart, and a writer by choice.

My own sense of history is enriched by a Mi'kmag grandfather and a family tree that can be traced back to the young surveyor James Cook, who began his career mapping out the St. Lawrence River system for General Wolfe during the French and Indian War.

I have just released my first book in the Gauntlet Runner series, titled The Gauntlet Runner-A Tale from the French and Indian War.

I hope you enjoy it!

Another vivid installment in the French and Indian War

I confess I am caught up in this story! Ever since I read Betty Zane in 3rd grade, I have been a fan of early American history. The story of the Murray family, Jacob, Maggie, James, Becky, Israel and two more children whom we haven't seen since their capture by Indians in book 1, have captured my imagination. Jacob continues with his ranger company, Maggie's journey from tribe to tribe, and the French, makes for fascinating reading. Looking forward to the next booj!

"Blind Faith" is another extraordinary book in "The Gauntlet Runner" series that is packed with suspense, adventure, action, and melancholy. With the author's creative writing technique, one cannot resist making judgment calls based on the various predicaments faced by the characters in this novel and the five previous ones. After reading "Blind Faith," I could not help feeling sad knowing that the series will soon end. I have grown attached to the Murray family and will miss their adventures. Hopefully with a little coaxing we can get S. Thomas Bailey to write another series that involves the Murrays and the battle for American independence.
