The book does what it says: gets you started with LibreOffice. Be sure to check the LibreOffice site for the current version which is free to download.

As with all computer manuals, it's a fairly brutal read. The rather dry and technical material does not make for a gripping narrative. But I give it five stars because it's free, like LibreOffice itself, and you are getting an awful lot here for your (no) money. It's hard to believe the generosity of the volunteers who built this gift to the world, but I'll take it. Plowing through the Getting Started Guide is a good idea because the LibreOffice suite is loaded with features. Few people will use all of them, but it's smart to start with an overview of what the software offers.

Each component of LibreOffice has its own more-detailed Guide that you can download and refer to as needed. Reading all of them cover-t0-cover might be a bit much.
