Emily Bone grew up among the rolling hills of Hampshire, writing stories about the ants and birds in her garden. After studying English at Cambridge, she found her dream job at Usborne in 2007. Since then, she's written about many weird and wonderful creatures, along with books on space, fashion and food.
I introduced this book to my reception class during my second placement, when I started a new geography topic with them. This book has 15 maps that are perfect for kids to look at. You can learn all about countries, continents, oceans, mountains, and ice caps on Earth. You'll also find out where different animals and people call home. Each country has interesting facts, flags, and capital cities listed.
I love the illustrations, and this atlas really draws my daughter (4) into its pages. She is inquisitive and engaged whenever we pull it out. Also, it's bound in a way that the pages lie flat, a huge plus!
